I unfortunately had to take a trip to urgent care this morning for an abscess. I searched for which ones accept my insurance and found this one fairly close to home. I arrived a few minutes after they opened so I was the first one there. The person at the front desk was very friendly and polite. I got called back right away and saw Dr. Paul (didn't catch last name). He was very patient with me, and had great bedside manner. In the room was also a female nursing assistant, who was also very kind and patient. Based on my experience today I'd recommend this urgent care if you are in the Brea area. read more

1 star. And that's only because zero isn't an option. DO NOT come here. I came in for a small infected burn on my wrist. I mentioned feeling slightly lightheaded, and the doctor decided to run an EKG. After the first test, she came back concerned and repeated it. Then I was told I was essentially having a heart attack (NSTEMI) and needed to go to the ER immediately. Because of that, I rushed to St. Jude ER. They ran multiple tests, monitored me for hours, and ultimately found NOTHING wrong with my heart. About 4 hours into my ER visit, Brea Urgent Care called me and said she "read the EKG wrong." When I asked why she didn't contact me sooner, she said "she was busy and didn't have time to call me". That mistake cost me an entire day in the ER, extreme stress thinking I was having a heart attack, and a $9,000 hospital bill -- over $3,000 out of pocket after insurance. Since then, I have received zero follow-up, no apology, and no attempt to take responsibility. This is not a small error. Misreading an EKG and telling a patient they are having a heart attack is a serious failure. I am posting this in hopes that Brea Urgent Care addresses this situation and takes responsibility for the financial and emotional impact this caused. Until then, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. read more

I have been here for my pneumonia and dr Andrew was really nice and took care of me right away. And today I take my son here for an accident , no questions asked and took us in right away. And dr Zehra and staff were so nice to us. She looks so young but She is so experienced , caring. Kept asking if my son was doing ok. I really appreciate the care and kindness she gives to my son. On 10/19/25, I took my husband to Brea Urgent Care because he was having shortness of breath, rapid heartbeat, dizziness, and anxiety. He's a healthy man in his early 30s with no prior medical issues. The front desk staff and medical assistant were kind and professional. The MA performed three EKGs and said the provider wanted multiple readings, but all came out the same. When the PA, Zehra Zehad, came in, she told us that my husband's results were not normal and that he had a NSTEMI (heart attack). We were shocked. She said she would not call an ambulance and instead told me to drive him to the hospital and tell them he had a heart attack. She didn't specify which hospital. At the hospital, the nurse immediately repeated the EKG -- it was normal. The ER doctor also confirmed it looked fine but ordered cardiac tests to be sure. About two and a half hours later, PA Zehad called us and admitted she had misread and misdiagnosed my husband. She said he did not have a heart attack. When we asked why it took her two hours to call, she said she was busy with other patients. This was an incredibly frightening experience for both of us. Being told you've had a heart attack and then finding out it was a mistake is unacceptable. The delay in correcting the error and the lack of urgency in contacting us show poor judgment and patient care. I spoke with the clinic manager, Gina, who apologized and stated the PA would be dismissed. However, she also said we would have to contact their legal team regarding the ER bill since the PA was a 1099 provider. Regardless, this happened under Brea Urgent Care's care and supervision, and the clinic should share responsibility. This experience caused unnecessary fear, stress, and medical expenses. I would not recommend this urgent care to anyone. Patient safety and accountability should come first -- and that did not happen here. read more

I've been here before and this time around was a complete different experience. Maria PA was friendly however didn't even listen. I was rushed and she wanted me to do an x ray because she thought I might have bronchitis. I stupidly said yes. The x ray tech said it would take a day for my results. I did the x ray. Maria comes back and says I'm all good because I don't have pneumonia. From bronchitis to pneumonia? And what she read the results? Not a radiologist? Hmm. Sounds shady. She sent all my prescription over to pharmacy. Didn't tell me what medication or how to take them. I didn't have time to ask her questions. It felt like the x ray was unnecessary just to charge up my insurance. I wasn't wheezing or had difficulty breathing. Anyway it's my fault for agreeing for x ray. I'd go to more of a professional urgent care next time. read more

SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME AND GO TO AN URGENT CARE WHERE YOU'LL SEE AN ACTUAL DOCTOR AND BE TREATED WITH BASIC HUMAN RESPECT. I've been to this urgent care many times without any issues--until now. Unfortunately, after my most recent visit on 7/4/25, I can confidently say I won't be returning. I went in with symptoms of a UTI or possible kidney infection. The day before, I had seen my rheumatologist, who told me my urine tested positive for a UTI even though at that time, I had no symptoms. The following day, when symptoms began, I went to urgent care for treatment. The provider who saw me (a PA, not a doctor) told me my urine was negative and dismissed what my rheumatologist had said. She asked for a copy of my labs as if it's common to get a copy of your labs. When I explained my history, she questioned why I see a rheumatologist completely irrelevant. She then claimed I was passing a kidney stone and said there wasn't much they could do. Based on my level of discomfort, this didn't seem accurate. She said they'd send my urine to the lab and call me in a few days, and would prescribe an antibiotic "just in case." But I never received a call or a prescription. To top it off, as I was leaving, she asked if I was "always like this" saying I seemed "slow" and had a "weird demeanor" and then asked if it was related to my medical condition. I was shocked and deeply insulted. My condition has no effect on my demeanor, and her comments were completely inappropriate and offensive. I had to follow up with my GP to finally get the treatment I needed. This visit was not only a complete waste of time, it was also demeaning. I tried to reach out a day later and asked to speak to the office manager. I was told that the office manager would call me back. Based off the other yelp reviews, this type of bedside manner seems normal practice for this office. read more

She literally told me to tell my brain that I am ok and then all my symptoms will go away and I should return to work the next day even tho I told her I was experiencing extreme anxiety and depression CAUSED AT WORK. Free Covid PCR test with or without insurance. Right now the CARES Act still gives anyone, I mean anyone, free covid test. Wait time is unknown. It's already 1 week and I haven't received any results. Right now if you want rapid test, you'll have to pay $100 even if insurance covers. They said that the reasoning is that there aren't a lot of rapid tests supplied to their facility right now. I think there's a shortage of it or it's in demand right now, so $100 no matter what. Maybe it'll change once they get more of the rapid test? But call and confirm. Covid tests wait line is behind the centers building parking lot all the way to the right side at the end of the parking lot. There's a long line but the line goes by fairly fast. So I suggest drive back there and park there instead of at the front of their urgent care. You'll need to fill out 2 paper forms and fill out 2 online forms too. It's very easy and you'll fill it out while you wait in line. read more

I got chest x-rays done for work last year to test for TB since I work with kids and they have been nothing but kind to me. I don't really like blood work done on me especially since I saw how the hospitals do these kind of testing and so I knew this was the best option. They got me in and out so quickly too and sent all info to my workplace which was convenient. Since I am now an EMT student, I needed to get my results back (results are good for about 2-4 years, depends) and right away they got them out and signed for. Daughter took a fall at school that knocked the wind out of her and had her feeling discomfort all day. For peace of mind, we stopped by Brea Urgent Care to have them check her out and make sure we weren't missing something. Upon entering we were greeted by the two ladies at the front desk. Did some paperwork and were seen by the on duty doctor very quickly. The whole visit went without a single issue. I cannot thank the team more for their service. The doctor (forgot his name) was the best. My daughter was naturally uneasy being at a doctor office/urgent care, but he responded perfectly. Really strange experience today... checked in because of a medical issue I've had with my ear for a few days now. The problems started once we were actually communicating with the doctor, Dr. Anne Grootegoed. She was weirdly insistent on us not needing masks, telling me and my mom that we should take it off. I understand ME having to take off my mask, since she was doing an examination, but there's really no need to tell my mother to take off her mask. She was yapping for about a minute straight about how masks could lead to asthma (??), which was even more strange when the issue being discussed at hand had NOTHING to do with my respiratory system. After this weird incident, she told us she prescribed something to get picked up at a CVS. When we talked to the front office, however, the staff kept getting confused on which CVS we were referring to, even though we were clear on the actual description. And to top it all off, it was sent to the wrong pharmacy! I have my current pharmacy listed at a separate location, and even though we clarified IN-PERSON that it was to go to CVS (the clarification happened multiple times), it was STILL sent to the wrong location, costing us some extra money to exchange it to the correct pharmacy. I'd highly recommend looking for a different pharmacy; a medical professional consistently badgering us to take off our masks and being highly unprofessional throughout, along with bad customer service. read more

The reception people generally seem to be neither, not being able to appropriately check in patients in the order they arrived, not knowing what to say or how to manage, or really knowing anything for that matter. If you're incompetent then at least be nice- you're the front desk. The PA staff are much better. read more

Very minimal lines and lots of Friendly and Informative frontline health care workers. I was immediately greeted and was helped by multiple people. Process was super fast and efficient. I have Kaiser insurance which covers BOTH Rapid and PCR! 10 mins wait for Rapid results! I was going to wait 2 hours at Kaiser and just decided to stop here to ask for an appointment, but NO Appointment needed! Just walk up and fill out a quick questionnaire and provide insurance info. I believe their 5-star reviews are fake. Today is the first time I visited this place. The receptionist cannot take direction or should I say, does not follow up with patient directions, making patients roam around in circles. I tried to communicate with the manager GINA but she came across with full of attitude, she is unprofessional to say the least, let alone cannot own up to her own staff members' mistakes. It's mind-boggling to see people like GINA get hired as a manager. I asked to speak to the owner but Gina did not let me speak to the owner. In these very COVID sensitive times I cannot say enough for the great service and reliability I've experienced four times, now. Unfortunately, due to various rounds of family illness (colds mostly) this IS how many times I've had to visit this facility for a rapid COVID test (cuz you never know). You can say it has become a "go-to." Appointments are not required, they will take your insurance card, you get test results within 10-15 minutes, and the staff is professional and attentive. This is so much so, that my daughter actually LIKES having a COVID test. Go figure!! Testing is drive-thru and you pull around back of the facility and wait your turn. Forms are quick and easy to fill out, and the facility is clean. My recommendation: always go early especially if you're commuting from a distance as I have. I don't know if they assess an actual fee, since I've always had insurance cards when I go. So, call ahead as to fees. read more

I went there for covid test. I checked in and the front desk told me there would be quite a wait for covid test today. I said okay I could wait and then took a seat. After 45 mins of waiting, I asked for a rest room . After I came back from the restroom, the front desk immediatly told me "you should wait outside, at the back of the building for the covid test - go ask them if they call your name!" I wonder if I didn't go to the restroom, would she realized that I'd been waiting? I was mad. I told them "you should have told me since the beginning. The covid lady didn't even look up my chart if it was my turn, she told me to go line up next to the last car in line. I don't think this is right way, right manner to do with client without car. How long should I standing there and wait?? She just ignored me and didn't care if I had no car and where I need to stand, at a back of a car???... on the side walk?? under the sun??? $#@&*%$? I was here last week for a Covid test. I called the day before to make my appointment. When you arrive you'll go inside to get the paperwork, unless you have severe symptoms at which point you call and they'll come to your car. You do have to fill the paperwork outside and then bring it back with your id and insurance card. My appointment was for 10:30 and I arrive about 7 minutes early. When my paperwork was filled out I was instructed to go wait in the back. I was there for about 8-10 minutes before my name was called. I then went inside a small hallway and had the test done. The nasal swab is more painful than I could have imagined but I know it wasn't the guys fault it's just how the test is. My results were in two days later. read more

If only I could give a negative rating.. I have had two terrible experiences and will never return. Last month I had severe ear pain and was diagnosed with an ear infection and prescribed antibiotics by a female doctor (name unknown). Two days later, I had an appointment with an audiologist for a standard hearing test and was informed of no such infection, showed me pictures of the healthy ear canal and said I had TMJ. This was later confirmed by my dentist. I spent $50 on an unnecessary Rx, $50 for the appointment and waited 2.5 hours to be completely misdiagnosed. Yesterday I was in bed, extremely sick and needed urgent treatment. I called the same location since 3 other Urgent care facilities in Brea had closed and I desperately needed help. I spoke to a woman and asked for assistance with scheduling an appointment ASAP as I was struggling just to make the phone call. She curtly and rudely referred me back to online scheduling. As I was now in tears I struggled again to get her to assist me on the phone with making appointment. She was clearly disinterested in helping me by her loud disapproving sigh and knew I was crying. She then curtly asked if I had been to that location and I, still crying, replied yes. Again she let out another disapproving sigh as to again remind me she had better things to be doing than helping someone, in complete distress, set up an appointment. This place does a great job when it comes to COVID testing, as the process is super easy with minimal paperwork and they simply take a nasal swab sample while you remain in the comfort of your car.
