I unfortunately had to take a trip to urgent care this morning for an abscess. I searched for which ones accept my insurance and found this one fairly close to home. I arrived a few minutes after they opened so I was the first one there. The person at the front desk was very friendly and polite. I got called back right away and saw Dr. Paul (didn't catch last name). He was very patient with me, and had great bedside manner. In the room was also a female nursing assistant, who was also very kind and patient. Based on my experience today I'd recommend this urgent care if you are in the Brea area.

I have been here for my pneumonia and dr Andrew was really nice and took care of me right away. And today I take my son here for an accident , no questions asked and took us in right away. And dr Zehra and staff were so nice to us. She looks so young but She is so experienced , caring. Kept asking if my son was doing ok. I really appreciate the care and kindness she gives to my son. Thank you Brea urgent care for having the best staff for us :)

We have amazing insurance and typically pay a zero copay for all in-network visits aside from ER visits. After she was charged I called our insurance and found out that urgent cares can bill under different codes some of which make them fall under the ER visit category. My issue wasn't the fact they bill in that way it was that she wasn't told until after she had been seen and we didn't have the option to seek other care that would be covered for her non emergency issue. The doctor himself called me to discuss the issue and apologized for how it was handled. He adjusted the charge and refunded my daughter the copay. We did not ask for a refund or expect one because we weren't disputing his services. He was very kind, authentic and did not dismiss my concerns. I truly appreciate and am impressed with how he handled the situation. It is clear he cares more about his patients and practice then he does profit and truly strives to do the right thing. He could give a masterclass in customer service.

Accurate rating description for two starts is "could've been better." This place only has PA/NP…read moreand no MD on site. They have the capability to draw blood and send to lab for stat orders. Unfortunately, what they lack ends up a longer list. The first MA was unable to get a vial of blood and said someone else would try on my other arm with a straight needed (vs butterfly). She left me without even putting a bandaid on the arm she poked and I had to struggle to put the bandaid on one handed while still maintaining pressure on it. Next MA comes and draws blood and when she's done she yelps I don't have a cotton ball (to put on the vein she just drew out of) and my blood is just pooling while she puts a bandaid on. Luckily I'm well versed enough to know I needed to put pressure on my bandaid. The NP who saw me was new to (per the MA) she really didn't put my mind at ease. Her expertise and knowledge seemed lacking based on the answers to my questions. First thing she asked me was, why are you here and not the ER? I told her my PCP sent me here because she didn't feel it necessitated a ER visit. She wanted me to be evaluated by YOU to assess and in your medical opinion, do I need to be seen further or what course of action next? She swabbed me for flu and covid and I verbally questioned her because I had isolated severe GI symptoms. She said sometimes those present wither GI only. Does it? I don't know, I'm not an MD but I'm also someone who works in healthcare and it didn't feel like the proper procedure. When I asked if she would be ordering any stool samples, I heard through my closed door "do we do that?". Ok, she's new, I'll give her that...but she comes back in and says "if you'd like to have the order for stool testing I'm happy to give that to you." Am I the md or am I the patient? I came here for your professional medical opinion! Do I?! So after I kindly communicated that I am looking to her for her opinion as the expert whether or not my symptoms necessitate an order, she still doesn't quite give me a direct answer! I haven't been to that many urgent cares, but I've come to see a trend that many of the urgent cares that are owned by a company with multiple locations don't have MD's on staff physically there. That said, I've also noticed the trend that many provide sub-par care.

Before even arriving, I called to verify that they accepted my insurance. Nicole answered the phone and was incredibly helpful, patient, and kind. She not only answered all of my questions but also provided additional information that made the process so much easier. I arrived around 6:45 PM, knowing they closed at 8:00 PM. Many places can make you feel like an inconvenience when you arrive close to closing time, but that was not the case here. The energy at the front desk was warm and welcoming from the moment I walked in. In fact, after speaking with the receptionist, another staff member walked up, recognized my voice from the phone call, and handed over my information. It was clear they were already prepared for my arrival, which made me feel valued and cared for. Steve, the nurse who took my vitals, was absolutely wonderful. He was friendly, personable, compassionate, and made me feel completely at ease. His kindness genuinely stood out and turned what could have been a stressful visit into a pleasant experience. Dr. Kwon was equally amazing. He was knowledgeable, thorough, understanding, and took the time to answer every question I had. I never felt rushed, and I felt completely comfortable discussing all of my concerns with him. Every single interaction I had at this office was positive. The facility itself was clean, organized, and welcoming, but what truly made this experience a 10/10 was the kindness and professionalism of the staff. I honestly don't enjoy going to doctor's offices, but this team made me feel so comfortable and well cared for that I wouldn't hesitate to return. I was in and out in about 40 minutes, received excellent care, and left feeling heard, supported, and genuinely appreciated as a patient. Thank you to Nicole, Steve, Dr. Kwon, and the entire team for such an outstanding experience. You all made a stressful situation so much easier, and I truly hope you're recognized for the incredible work you do every day.

I've been coming to this urgent care since around 2020 and have been a returning patient over the years. Until now, I've never had a reason to complain and have generally had positive experiences. This visit, however, was very disappointing. I scheduled what was advertised as an "appointment" through the urgent care's website, expecting that my reserved time would reduce my wait. After arriving, checking in, and waiting for over 30 minutes, I asked the receptionist about the delay. I was then told that the appointment doesn't actually begin until you physically check in at the clinic, meaning patients are essentially placed into the same queue as walk-ins. What concerns me most is that this information was not made clear when I scheduled online. Instead, the explanation was provided only after I arrived at the clinic through a notice at check-in. In my opinion, that's too late. If an online "appointment" does not reserve a specific place in line or appointment time, that should be clearly disclosed on the website before patients book--not after they've already taken time out of their day to come in. To me, advertising an appointment system without clearly explaining how it actually works is misleading. Patients reasonably expect that an appointment reserves a time for them. If the process is really first come, first served after check-in, that should be communicated upfront so people can make an informed decision. Many people choose urgent care instead of the emergency room because they want timely care for non-emergency issues. A scheduling system that functions like a walk-in line defeats that purpose and creates unnecessary frustration. As someone who has been a loyal, returning patient for years, this experience has unfortunately changed my opinion of this clinic. Because of this policy and the lack of transparency, I no longer feel comfortable returning. It's disappointing to say, but they have lost my business. I'm sharing my experience so others know what to expect, and I sincerely hope the clinic improves its communication by being honest and transparent about how its scheduling process actually works. Patients deserve accurate information before they book an appointment--not after they've already arrived.

My last visit I was misdiagnosed and made to feel like I didn't break a bone when I did. The dr even said "ok little buddy you're gonna be ok". Walked on a broken foot for 2 weeks before another dr diagnosed that I had a broken foot. IDIOTS HERE MISSED IT! This visit I was brought in, against my wishes for a concussion I suffered earlier in the day. I asked to be taken to st Joseph, but ended up here. Symptoms at home were trembling from pain, couldn't get my words out and confused. I asked a million times for an ice pack, some water and it took them forever. My husband and the dr didn't even discuss with me my prognosis and just assumed i was faking my symptoms. Never have I been so embarrassed, confused and just flat out not believed in my life. Is it just as women we are not believed anymore?? I had head pain, neck pain, confusion and difficulty getting my words out. I feel like an anvil was dropped on my head from hitting it earlier in the day. But ok maybe she's got some mental issues ?! WTAF I will NEVER EVER EVER come back to this facility. I felt minimized, discarded and didn't even have the dr come and discharge me...as a 46yr old woman. She talked with my husband in the hall and 12 yr old over heard that maybe I'm crazy?! I do have anxiety and depression but am faithful in my meds and have a full time job. You all need to get it the F together!!!!! So unprofessional and minimized me as the patient. I just kept thinking about my previous visit years prior with my broken foot and was told I would feel just fine. Like I was a waste of their time. They didn't find any broken bones. They don't do a full work up and just do the bare minimum to get you out and charge WAY too much for the level of care you get. I did have a ct scan but it is clear. Most concussions do not show any damage, but that doesn't mean you don't have symptoms. I've heard multiple stories from multiple people who live in the area, including one of my clients whose husband died because this place would not see him in time. Told him that he had a kidney stone without checking him, had him wait, when actually he had an abdominal aneurysm and was bleeding out. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! This place WILL NOT give you the type of care, consideration or decency you deserve. This place should be shut down and turned into an urgent care instead of an ER.
