Prompt check-in. Have brought my father here before. Very caring staff and prompt testing. Today was unusual, maybe short staffed. Nurses seem scattered. Not as attentive. Once a bed opened in ED mom was called in. Bed linen had not been fully placed on bed (hope it wasn't the old sheets) Floor had visible hair and trash. Not a great feeling when things are already dirty in an area that should be super clean. Come on UCI. My expectations are higher.

In the very beginning when he first started and was a brand new doctor, he was awesome. Now he's a total jerk and he has his uneducated office staff and PA running the business. just a few of our most prominent issues: 1. I was extorted by the front office, that he would not see me unless I paid a missed appointment, which I did not schedule. 2. The office refused to treat me, for a raging bladder infection that they tested me for, even though I'm a regular annual patient. I refused to pay the $50 to come BACK to the office the same day, for the RX. 3. His physicians assistant incorrectly diagnosed me as having HPV. And I had to go to another doctor for an incredibly painful procedure, all for nothing. I did not have HPV. 4. In my opinion Kurtz now has a God complex, he didn't used to. ***5. THEY REFUSED TO TREAT ME, AFTER I LEFT MY URINE SAMPLE....UNLESS I PAID WHAT FEELS LIKE A $50 EXTORTION FEE, in order to give me my prescription. When the doctor says they don't hold back care because of an unpaid balance, that is entirely incorrect, and I believe he's lying. His behavior is reprehensible, and he is fully aware of this. Don't say you weren't warned. ....*add the fact that he stands by his uneducated and extremely unprofessional staff, says even more. Do better Dr Kurtz. Immediate is defined as "occurring, acting, or accomplished without loss or interval of time." My wife's visit to the emergency room makes no sense to me. Her primary care physician's nurse told her to make an appointment with a doctor (with first available appointment in 4 days), or go to the ER. We chose the ER, but, not before sending me to the gym to exercise, so that she could fix her hair. I understand the ER has more equipment than doctor's office, and even urgent care. It seemed wrong to go to the ER when it was not an emergency. St. Jude ER was vastly different from the ER in Canada that we just visited, where it was a real emergency. We showed up at 5PM and registered. The triage nurse saw us almost immediately. We saw the doctor within an hour. The doctor followed up on the care that my wife received in Canada and ordered a CT scan and some bloodwork. Everyone that we interacted with was nice and professional. They all knew what their job was. I'll take this over universal healthcare in Canada any day where it took 6 hours just to be triaged! Even though we spent four hours at the ER, the time went by quickly because the the process here at St. Jude is just so much better. It was a good experience. I don't want or need to experience them any more. Hopefully, I will never come back.

The patient then endured seven hours of untreated chest pain because the ER doctor refused to act without radiology, which took ten hours to respond. Pain relief and antibiotics were only given after multiple complaints, and the doctor admitted he was "finally making a decision without radiologist confirmation." The pneumonia diagnosis confirmed after discharge. This level of delay, misjudgment, and lack of urgency is unacceptable for any emergency department. It's too bad I can't give a negative review. In addition, try speaking with Patient Care Relations only to be directed right away to voicemail with a message that call will be returned IN two days, not within two days.

Normally, I'd never drive all the way out here, but the specialist I was seeing - came with high recommendations - and so I made the trek out to Yorba Linda, my first time here ever. I was greeted almost immediately after I stepped into the clinic. The front desk/admitting workers are practically right in front of you right when you walk in. The entire clinic is clean, warm, and inviting. The atmosphere seems more like a hotel lobby, than a medical office. I was only able to take a photo of the exterior, since patient privacy applies inside, of course. The MA rooming me literally called me within minutes after I left the front desk for check-in. Wait is very minimal here, which is great - it shows they are respectful of your time. The physician I saw was awesome. Warm, great bedside manner. Answered all my questions, after listening intently. I always try to ensure my first visit with a new physician to be in-person, before opting for telehealth for future visits. That request was accommodated without issue when I scheduled my follow-up.

I've done similar routine visits with bloodwork before and only ever paid my standard copay. At the end of the appointment, Dr. Rebecca Sauer casually recommended additional bloodwork since I was already there. Before agreeing, I explicitly asked whether it would be covered under my copay. She told me yes, so I agreed. How does casually recommended bloodwork during a routine visit somehow turn into a $900 bill after I explicitly asked whether it would be covered? Reading through these reviews, it's concerning how many people describe nearly identical experiences involving routine visits turning into unexpectedly massive bills. At a certain point, this stops feeling like isolated billing issues and starts feeling systemic.

If I could, I would only give Anaheim Global -0 stars for the facility and care. First... when he was checked in to the ER, he sat there for 14 to 15 hours waiting for a bed in the hospital. the only Dr. that saw him while he was in the ER was the ER Dr. and an occasional nurse. We meet up with him after he was checked in the ER, and I couldn't believe the condition of the facility, the area where he was being kept. His gurney had paint peeling off with rust showing at base of all of the supports that keep the patients from falling off the gurney. The rubber baseboards in the room were peeling from the wall and lifting from the floor. There was raw wood showing on the base of the cabinets. How do they sterilize this area with everything is deteriorating. Where is the Health Department on inspecting this ER? Second... when he was finally admitted into the behavior health section. We came back to visit with him. I couldn't believe the chaos in this ward. We couldn't go to see him in his room, so we had to meet with him in a communal rec room. No privacy, and he was so stressed from this place he walked out and left us and went back to his room. Both of us were so upset and stressed from the conditions and atmosphere of the facility we couldn't talk to each other on the way home. Before we left, we asked the charge nurse when the 72 hours started. she said when the Dr. evaluates him. Which wouldn't be until tomorrow sometime. The next day we contacted the charge nurse to get some more information regarding his stay, i.e. when does the 72 hours start? Has the Dr. seen him? This nurse said when he was checked in his 72 hours started, and the Dr. still hasn't seen him. Total Confusion with all concerned. On his suppose final day of stay, his case manager called my wife and said he will be checked out at 10 PM tonight, but they can't release him to go home until the following day. Why? Just to get additional money out of OC Health? I don't understand! The following day, in the morning, the case manager called my wife and told her the Dr. is going to place our son on a 5250 hold on him (an additional 14 days) for he is not ready to go home at this time. This was disappointing, because he was to return to work on the following Monday. We stressed this along with other concerns to the case manager. Then later in the morning, 11ish I believe, the case manager again called my wife and stated they were going to release him today, and we can come and pick him up at 12:15 PM. Which we did. This was a rude awaking for us as parents.... when we returned home, our son was totally stressed out from his stay at Anaheim Global, he told us what had been taken place in the ward, which was shocking. Patients were getting into fights; he stayed in his room the entire time he was there to keep away from all of the violence. He couldn't have a toothbrush to brush his teeth, so he never brushed his teeth while he was there for 4 1/2 days, he had 3 other roommates, one of the roommates was using the shower for a toilet, so our son didn't take any showers while he was there, because of the un-sanitary conditions, and one other roommate all he did was walk around the room talking to himself. Why does the Orange County Health Crisis Assessment Team contract with a facility of this nature? With the condition of the facility, un-sanitary conditions, and violence. It is totally unacceptable! If anyone reads this and has to have someone committed for a 5150-evaluation hold, ask where you are taking them and if they say Anaheim Global, request another hospital.

Then, her care team gave her a medication that she was ALLERGIC to. It was noted in her chart/medical history that she was allergic to it. She passed shortly after. The medication was listed under her chart. They should've had her stay over night, but they're sent her home, and that was 2 days before she passed. She had lung cancer, but her cause of death was CO2 build up from that medication. They suffocated that poor woman. Then, my friend, who just had a miscarriage and was devastated with these two terrible losses, got pregnant again shortly after. She received a message from a nurse around 1am, out of the blue. The nurse essentially said "this looks like you're confused. This is complications from the miscarriage" and that the nurse doesn't believe she is pregnant. However, she's been to multiple appointments, has seen the baby, and her sister has seen the baby. It was simply a complete lie. She went to the ER the next day to get that message cleared up since she was understandably beyond panicked. She had just seen an out of network doctor about two days prior, and the out of network doctor sent her own follow up stating that the pregnancy looked normal. This Kaiser location's lack of care and absolute lack of sensitivity and professionalism caused my friend so much confusion and panic amidst her time of intense grief. One star is too generous, and I wish I could leave 0. If you want to suffer even more (than you probably already are if you are having to go to the hospital for anything), then this is the place for you. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE.
