Love this place! Have been here several times and have NOT been disappointed in the least. Sandwiches are a trademark and I have had several that are all special and delicious. Bigger appetite, have dinner here. Do not get a salad or a soup...this place is made for sandwiches...Please do yourself a favor and only get those as an addon to your sandwich. This is the best corn beef sandwich I've ever had in my entire life. Whenever I'm in Detroit, not only is my flight timed to arrive before closing, but the Bread Basket Deli's 8 Mile location is my first stop after leaving the airport. I have friends who come to Los Angeles from Detroit to visit me, bring me Corn Beef sandwiches from Bread Basket Deli. This is the way it is, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love the original bread basket. Food is great and prices are a little pricey but overall pretty good.

Don't trust a word they say because it'll change the next time you call. I love the veggie sandwich from Bread Basket but not worth the hassle. They close whenever they want and even when you call them to figure out what their timeframe is, you get a different answer every time. & you get told you can order up to 10 minutes to close but that's not true because they shut down their grill at quarter to. Maybe next time it'll be shut down 1/2 hour early. Who knows but this is the 3rd time I had to jump through hoops and given the wrong information when I call in. I'm done with them. read more

Since Covid 19 crisis I've been very hesitant about eating out but I decided I would let my defenses down and trust that workers in the food industry are taking every precaution to keep not only their patrons safe but themselves as well. I called to place my order. At that time I asked if the cook and anyone handling or preparing food is wearing a mask and globes. I was told, yes! When I arrived no one was wearing a mask. Off the chain, 5" high Reuben sandwich, 3" of melt in your mouth corn beef, swiss cheese, hot sauerkraut and Russian dressing on Rye. They have two sizes, big and colossal. My husband and I ordered our sandwiches at the counter and everything seemed ok, until I noticed the cashier was wearing gloves. He handled our money with gloves, gross! It gets worse. Had a taste for great corned beef sandwich. Living in Detroit you know if you want great corned beef you go to Bread Basket. I've been going to this location for years, so imagine my face when I get home with my sandwich and it was a fraction of the size that I'm used to. Coupled with the fact that the prices have increased I felt robbed. The bread has changed and my onion roll actually tasted bland. I was here last week and the same owners cut the sandwich portions 1/2 in size for some reason. Just TERRIBLE.........I will never eat here again......... Redford has lost the number one spot as the best Bread Basket deli due, to them mixing that dried out lean corned beef with the good corned beef, also the quality of the pastrami has changed its the low grade bottom round pastrami that is sold at some markets from behind the deli counter, and when I called and asked them why did they change it the guy lied and said its the same pastrami they have always used mind you I have been going to bread basket delis for over 20 years and the pastrami on rye with mustard is my sandwich of choice and then the united meat is my second choice and this is the sandwich i got on this visit with 2 corned beef sandwiches on 02/06/2021 This united meat sandwich which is made with both corned beef and pastrami was a total flop they mixed that dried out lean corned beef with just a little of the good corned beef here is where it gets worst they also used the cheap low grade pastrami which i notice when i look at the sandwich where it was cut in the middle man I could not believe it when i took the slices of meat out and looked at it very thinly sliced and shiny look to it no stringy pastrami fat in site and that fool lied to me like I did not know the difference in cuts of me and deli over processed low quality meat on that note my dog tanked you for selling me that garbage he enjoyed eating it oh by the way the 2 cord beef sandwiches had the regular corn beef on them go is it really that tight you cant afford trough out that dried out lean corned beef you pass it off onto you customers and use the cheap pastrami or are you just that greedy remember this KARMA is a mother f read more

The location in Livonia is SO much better. I paid almost $20 here for a (supposed to be large) Corned beef Sandwich that wasn't very large, and some nasty soggy fries. They upcharged me for the bread for the sandwich without letting me know, and the pickles were like rubber...The guy on the phone asked me what I wanted on my sandwich and I told him whatever comes on it (why are you asking me this?) and I got nothing on it, so it was very dry, THANKS!
