Not as good as it oncw was!! Sandwich was smaller but the price didn't!! Quite disappointed!!

I wanted a really good deli sandwich. The kind of itch that can't be scratched by one of the skimpy sandwiches from a little chain place. A big massive corned beef or ham & swiss or Dinty Moore from a place that has fresh bread smell absorbed into the walls. Well, Bread Basket kind of delivered. I had picked out my chosen order while salivating in between work meetings earlier that morning, and ordered online, expecting a quick in-and-out work lunch visit. I got there - and the polite staffer told me that I had to pick something else, because the item was no longer on the menu, but hadn't been removed from the website yet, and hadn't been removed from the menu above his head yet. He handed me a pamphlet menu - which still had the menu item. No big deal. Restaurants can transition. Change is good. I went with a #9 Rachel's Rhyme as my back-up. It's corned beef and turkey breast as a 4-decker club sandwich, with Russian dressing. Positives: the sandwich was huge. I'm a big dude, and I could only eat half. The corned beef was excellent, the turkey was tender. Negatives: the sandwich was $20 and didn't include any side nor drink. That's like "the most expensive lunch with unlimited sides" at some other local spots. It doesn't fully redeem that price point when I got to keep half to eat the next day for lunch when it was cold from sitting in the fridge. Staff was nice, the place was diner-esque, but I won't be in a rush to get back. Most of the menu was $15.99 or higher for a sandwich by itself. Breadbasket is charging customers more when they pick up their food vs when it's ordered online. BEWARE! You are being scammed and they say it's not their fault. It's the websites fault. Granted it was on a $1 and change but you add that up over many customers and someone is laughing all the way to the bank. I was told other customers just pay it. DONT BE LIKE THAT PEOPLE. Price is crazy have to pay more for lean meat otherwise all you get is grizzly meat. When ordering online you have to use a service not straight through them big disappointment. If you get all lean meat and extra pickles your over fourty dollars for 1 sandwich, yes a pound of two meats split but I can get a pound of each meat, loaf of rye and Swiss for that. The Russian dressing is a watery terrible mess. I rate most things really high but stay away, unless you want to use your Gold card credit card if you have a family of 4. read more

Bread Basket on 8 mile and the one located on Middlebelt in Livonia has seen me for the LAST TIME! I spent close to $50 including tip and received this NASTY FATTY Reuben on Sunday 11/16/2025. The owner said they're under NEW MANAGEMENT. Well, the quality of the meat is NOT good, the cuts are DISGUSTINGLY FATTY and the man had the AUDACITY to say that I can pay extra for lean!!! In my years going to both spots, I have NEVER paid extra for lean. After paying about $25 per sandwich, it should be PERFECT! Instead, the quality tastes like it's a CHEAPER/LOWER GRADE piece of meat, and the customer service is INSULTING! He wanted me to bring the food back same day or he would so graciously give me 10% off on my next visit. WHAT???? I ended up throwing the sandwich away. I'll go get my own corned beef and for $50, I can get a nice cut with onion rolls, Swiss cheese and sauerkraut and have a few nice sandwiches. Food was ok, ordered a corned beef sandwich off a picture that was taped to the counter, in order to make things less stressful (it appeared to me to be on a sub roll, but when we got it, it was on reg. white sandwich bread w no other condiments.. I stopped here because I want a good corn beef sandwich and I've been going there for probably 30 years. As soon as I walked in, I knew something was different. I ordered the one pounder (30$) which I never ordered before because I thought I could share it with my wife. I always order the corn beef and pastrami mix, which is my favorite sandwich. I was very disappointed. I had to go out and buy a new bun. The Bond was so old at crumbled as soon as you grab the sandwich. That means it's Old. If they are that cheap to sell you an old bun. Customer service in evening last Friday was questionable. On a previous day I walked in to pick up my order, I overheard employees talking about customers wanting to bypass AI and how their boss wants them to allow AI only orders. Some people have add ons, take off, and other specifications. If customers are willing to pay $25 or even more for one sandwich I don't think it is too much to ask to have it done correctly and the ability to speak to someone. The food has improved tremendously! I will not return to this location I will stick to the Jefferson location where there is an entirely different level of customer service. read more

This place is on another level, I ordered the Rubin and my wife got the 17and half. The corned beef was cooked perfectly. It would usually come with a lot of fat when you come to these places. but this was cooked with a lot of flavor. We really enjoyed the sandwiches and will be back soon! read more

Went to this place on a recommendation from a friend. We ordered the #12 and 2 corned beef egg rolls . I thought it was pretty good the sandwich was stacked , but those egg rolls were to die for. If I wasn't stuffed I would have ordered more of them . I live an hour plus from Bread Basket deli Livonia, 11320 Middlebelt Rd. I order from them regularly and usually receive what I've ordered. However, lately that has not been the case. When I've previously had an issue, it's been resolved amicably which is why I've remained a customer until recently. I have had to return orders which were incorrect or incomplete. I recently ordered three Lg #17 and 1/2 corned beef and coleslaw sandwiches. I checked the order, and it appeared to be what was ordered. However, upon taking the sandwiches out they were regular size sandwiches instead of the large sandwiches ordered. I thought I'd call and get it resolved. Not the case, the person who answered claimed they were the person who made the sandwiches and that was final. Okay not true, it's disappointing this matter was not resolved mutually but I won't patronize this location again. read more

Some places do not care if you're a satisfied customer or not. Bread basket in Livonia is one of those places. I reached out to the manager but he has not had the courtesy to reply back. I ordered 2 sandwiches with sauce on the side. I asked for extra sauce on the side. I was very specific in stating what I wanted. I got home and the both sandwiches were drenched with sauce. I had to drive all the way back to Livonia to get the order corrected. I was told the manager would be in the next day if I wanted to talk to him. I have called a few times but he is NEVER there. I sent a message to him but apothecary doesn't care because I have not received a response. Also, they changed their pickles. They used to give you new dill and old dill wrapped up. Highly recommend this sandwich shop. I came here for a pastrami sandwich and it definitely hit the spot. Pastrami was tender and juicy. Sweet potato fries were cooked to perfection. First time there had high hopes. Ordered a 9oz corn beef on onion roll with no cheese. The bread fell apart reminded me of gluten free bread. My go to order is the 17 1/2 (I still don't know what the 1/2 is about) which is corned beef, Swiss cheese, and coleslaw on rye bread. The corned beef doesn't disappoint. Most of the time I order online (super convenient), I pick it up, and I'm out the door. But I ate at the counter recently and it was just not my jam at all. The inside looks rough. I've been to other Bread Basket locations which are much more updated and maintained. This place's equipment and decorations are way overdue. This place used to have the BEST corned beef. It would melt in your mouth and had a nice sweetness to it. It was like a bite of heaven. The sandwiches are still enormous and good for the most part, but they must have changed the corned beef years ago.
