I like this place because they have good gluten-free options. They have a wide variety of foods, like pizza, sandwiches, mac and cheese, desserts, coffee drinks, and soups. And of course bread. Which is euphoric. The place is charming and located a little outside of town. It's rustic and there is a pretty garden in the front where you can sit and eat. I really, really, really love Bread Euphoria. It's a neat space, and I've found them to be kid/baby friendly. In the morning you can't beat their cinnamon rolls. The coffee is great too (iced or hot). I like that they use those recycled cups for the iced, so that's a plus. The pecan sticky buns are also super awesome. The pizza is incredible. They have a sourdough crust and the options all sound great. I just finished off one with mushrooms, caramelized onions, red peppers and smoked mozzarella. It was amazing! The only thing I haven't been crazy about here are the bagels. I like my bagels a little squishier on the inside, and want salt on an everything bagel. But I'd still say 5 stars because everything else is fantastic! I have a baguette waiting for me, I think I'm going to go snack on it! They do take credit cards, and have a good sized parking lot. A great little bakery to stop in on your way to and from Notchview Nordic ski area or any of the hill towns. We stopped after a day of cross country skiing-- we were famished! By the time we arrived (after 3PM) the pickin's were slim, so I'd recommend coming earlier in the day for the best selection. I opted for a goat cheese and wild mushroom croissant ($4+) and a loaf of olive bread ($5), while my BF's cousin got a goat cheese and wild mushroom croissant and a ham and cheese croissant. Altogether, things cost about $19 for take away. The croissant was fantastic: underwhelming as to the amount of filling, but the flavor was spot on. Would have been better warmed. The olive loaf was almost consumed in it's entirety that night for dinner. We found it's best sliced and then toasted, with salted butter on top. This is definitely going to be "The Place" to stop when we ski on the weekends, but at $4+ a croissant (quite high for a small snack), it may just be for a loaf of artisanal bread. read more

BEWARE of call-in orders where they say they prefer you to pay with a card # over the phone so you can pick up at their window. Two days after buying a pizza from them I suddenly had a $60 bogus charge on my account from some business in NYC (Insomnia Cookies) and had to cancel my card. This was the ONLY business that I had used where I read my card info over the phone so either an employee carelessly left it out or stole it! Arrive at Bread Euphoria on Saturday at 6:15 to be told by a young male worker that they stopped taking pizza orders. On their website, it says they stopped taking orders at 6:45, so very disappointed. We traveled quite a awhile for their pizza, and believe that they should be more transparent for customers so they can plan. It's also worth noting that they were making a pizza while we left - so either they decided not to take orders for some and orders for others. read more

Perhaps my expectations were too high having read previous reviews but the mushroom /onion/red pepper pizza we ordered 1) took way too long to prepare and 2) was greasy to the point of being inedible... and I don't mind greasy pizza! Just before the chef brought it out to us, I saw him holding it over a trash can to drain the grease off. On a positive note, the crust on the pizza was excellent and service was good. Apparently they've been doing this for a year or so. I'm so glad I can enjoy this delightful place with my friends. ** I really want to love this place! So many of my friends love it. I really value their mission and the place is really fun and friendly. However, I've been three times for lunch with coworkers and, each time, they've been out of hummus and avocados: the main ingredients for their only vegan sandwich option on the menu. They don't have any vegan pizza options, either. They couldn't have been more apologetic and offered to try to make another sandwich sans cheese and mayo. A plain veggie sandwich didn't sound good to me, so I just end up with a salad instead. The greens were fresh, the maple balsamic dressing was fantastic, but I could have made it all at home with mostly local ingredients for half the $8.50 I paid. The best part of my meal was the baguette I got to-go. It was outstanding. With so many other super-vegan-friendly places in the area, Bread Euphoria won't ever be my first choice. But all of my meat-eating friends seem to love it. And, again, I deeply admire their efforts to serve local, eco-responsible foods. read more

These guys knock croissants out of the park! I would have given them a 5 star rating if they could somehow get my entire order correct when I do take-out. It's a cool, little spot and has the market cornered out this way for "organic" food. I just wish that it was good EVERY time I go...last time I ordered the prosciutto pizza (to die for) they left off the caramelized onions; my favorite part! It's a little pricey for the portions, too. I have never paid $6 for a standard egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, no matter how fancy the bread! I stopped in for coffee the other morning and realized I had never reviewed this place. You really can't go wrong with this place. The food is consistently good, the counter help is consistently pleasant, and the coffee is strong! It is counter service and nice wooden tables with plenty of windows and light. They have free wifi if you need that and people do bring laptops and hang out though you shouldn't expect it to be terribly quiet. Dinner service is waited but otherwise it is counter service. I have bought the kalamata olive bread from here for years - stupendous. They have an excellent array of breakfast pastries including wonderful chocolate croissants. There isn't a huge selection for dinner but the pizza is good and the quiche is often very interesting and tasty. Like another reviewer, I wasn't a fan of the turkey they use for the reuben. I will say that some of the prices feel a bit high (especially for dinner) - not terrible, just no bargains here. They do have music some nights but I've never been to that. They have their own parking lot and when you're considering going to Northampton for dinner that becomes a consideration. If you want an easy in and out, you can get that here. Or you can linger. This bakery is one of the true gems of the Pioneer Valley. No trip through the area is complete without a stop here. The pastries are fantastic. The sandwiches are of generous proportion and homemade chips are the cherry on top. If you are just passing through the area, stop in and grab something, anything and you will not be disappointed. 4 out of 5 stars, as the only issue is that service is a little slow, especially when busy, and it seems like the employees don't particularly enjoy working together as I typically hear gripping behind the scenes which is very noticeable to customers. We've been going here for a few years to get their amazing pastries and bread. Now they've added sandwiches and pizza to their menu for an eat in or take away meal. I like pepperoni pizza and today I had the best pepperoni pizza I've ever had!!! It was a hand thrown sourdough crust...very thin (they'll throw to order), crispy, and loaded with the spiciest pepperoni I think I've ever had. This is the pizza God would order (if he's a pizza person). I don't mean to slight their amazing panninis, their great salads and sandwiches, and their incredible pastries (morning buns are heavenly). I firmly believe Bread Euphoria is the best bread-and-naughty-noshies place in Northampton. It's a special place, excellent by any standard. My wife and I live near the center of town, but we'll go all the way out to the edge of the wilderness for Bread Euphoria. The breakfast treats are expensive -- $3+ for a sticky bun?! -- but I have to admit they're worth every penny. They haunt my dreams. And the prices for the bread are reasonable. The service is terrific; the people behind the counter are genuinely nice and helpful. I love the "look" of the place, too, it's very bright and open, but cozy at the same time. We came in around 4 on a Saturday and ordered some coffees and pastries. Some of the tables were being set for table service and the few unset tables were taken by patrons. There was one unset table left with one chair, so my husband went to grab a chair from a set table. He was informed that he could not use any of the chairs from the set tables because they had table service beginning at 5, so he couldn't even use one until 5pm arrived. So I sat in a chair with our baby while my husband crouched at the table. There we were, surrounded by chairs, but not allowed to use any. Needless to say we left rather quickly after such a unwelcoming and unfortunate experience. We came from out of town and were visiting family. No one in my family will be returning. Food and drinks felt pretty average as well, but by that point I was probably too bitter to give an objective opinion. read more

Zero stars. I just moved nearby to Bread Euphoria. I was excited to have a nice little local business sandwich spot close to the house. I have been there 5 times so far (there is very little around for options) and only once have I gotten what I have ordered. 3 out of the 5 times I have had the same woman behind the counter be incredibly rude. One of those times raising her voice to me, and the following time was bad enough where someone who I assumed was the manager came out and apologized for her(she could not be bothered). I'm assuming they get complaints about her regularly. The food is not bad,(even if you don't get what you order its usually fine). I ordered a Turkey bacon sandwich. After picking up a Turkey Bacon sandwich at the counter, and being yelled at for picking it up an order that wasn't mine(the aforementioned woman was yelling out orders, not names), I received a Rueben sandwich in a to-go bag to take home. that was after a 20-minute wait. The following time I was given a Veggie sandwich with no vegetables, just a cheese sandwich. Not a vegetable in sight. I feel like that one should not be that hard, right? If you go, just ignore the grill lady (shes not mad at you she's mad at herself.)and check your order before leaving and you should be fine. read more

I figured if they didn't even know this simple aspect of gluten safety (the crumbs from gluten products can fall down during handling on the gf products below), then I can't trust what they are doing in the kitchen either. I come back from time to time because the owners and employees are genuinely good people, and the breads are quite nice. I like that it is pleasant inside after last year's renovation, and I've enjoyed checking out the adjacent pottery. Why 2 stars? As yelp says - Meh. I've experienced better. 1. The prices are very high for what you get, especially when compared to competitors in the region. 2. The pizza is greasy. 3. They are cheese-happy, so think carefully before ordering anything with cheese in it. The fist few things I ordered I couldn't eat. Now I always ask for "light on the cheese" and it ends up perfectly smothered. Finally, I can do without the "holier than thou" attitude from the other patrons. The employees are great, it's the locals that can potentially ruin this place. I'm a local, but I don't dress like one, and I've been glared at and lectured at by local strangers on several occasions. Expect to be judged if you walk in without cargo pants, hiking gear, etc, then watch your self proclaimed green activist accusers drive away in their SUVs. read more

Family and friends met at the Bread Euphoria the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The location is really nice and Western Massachusetts chilling. We were leaving for DC after dinner and wanted to touch base with Family before a long drive. The setting had everyone chatting. The sandwiches were great and the wait staff was perfect. Although we drive by when ever home, we have not had an opportunity to stop. It was just really good music and the accommodated 14 of us by moving things around.
