Classic, simple menu with an extensive local beer, wine, and cider list; friendly, easy-going service, but the view of the River along the mill make this a forever return. I enjoyed the special sandwich - kielbasa, cheddar, saurkraut, and a little whole grain mustard on grilled sourdough. I also nabbed a cold peanut udon noodle situation for my drive later. Love a morning spent in the stacks at the bookmill followed by lunch and a bev at lady killigrew. A western Mass weekend staple.

Found this place close by to a concert we were going to at Montague Retreat Center. Unfamiliar and in the middle of nowhere where, The Lady Killigrew Cafe was a blessing! Timing was great as they close their kitchen at 8pm so we got there around 7:40 with just enough time to grab a bite. Cute and quaint, right near the flowing waters - I wish I got to see this place in the sunlight! The tunes here are great, I was dancing immediately. The staff here is sweet and the space itself is so fascinating! Has a cute charm throughout all the way down to the bookshop. I ordered the Number 1 sandwich. It was flavorful and just right to warm up my stomach. The salad was fresh and unique! Tasty stuff that had me perfectly satisfied.

When you're at the Montague Bookmill, this is a must stop. Seating inside and outside with a gorgeous view of the river. Food is extremely fresh and oh so good. We've only been there for lunch and the sandwiches are amazing. My son recently had the brie, apple and apricot jam and it was grilled to perfection, served with a delightful side salad. 10/10 strongly recommend!

This was such a great find! My girlfriend and I went here to go to the Book Mill and ended up eating at this adorable little cafe! The food was delicious, even though it was busy it was definitely a manageable noise level! The roaring river along the side was so beautiful, it was an amazing meal and such a great atmosphere :)

I stumbled across this place on the long drive home after hiking the Mohawk State Trail, it was definitely off the main road but it is the definition of a hidden gem. The food was fresh and delicious, but the view was definitely a highlight of this visit. We ate right over a waterfall with the sound of water complimenting our whole meal. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone driving through.

Located next to the Montague Book mill, this cafe has such a charming location! We sat outside with a beautiful view of the bookmill. The inside is quite nice and quaint as well; it's definitely a place where I'd like to drink a nice cold tea while looking paging through a novel. The menu is quite short and simple but the food is delicious. I got peanut noodles and my friends got ham sandwiches. The peanut ginger udon was delicious but I'm not rly sure why they call it udon because it is not udon! There was slightly too much ginger for me. I wasn't the biggest fan of the curried chicken because I was not used to the sticky texture. The sandwiches were yummy! My only complaint is that the food took sooo long to arrive. We waited maybe 40 mins for 3 dishes. Granted, it was quite a busy day for them, so we didn't mind as much.

There was a part of my brain that said hey just get the five dollar breakfast sandwich, but when I try a brunch place that's highly rated I am compelled to get the eggs Benedict. Because any brunch place worth their salt should have a really good eggs Benedict on the menu. Again, wow, I am so glad I ordered the eggs Benedict. This is the best eggs Benedict I have had in years. The hollandaise sauce was rich and smooth and absolutely delicious. They also gave me a choice of potatoes or salad, I took the potatoes because: breakfast potatoes! They were perfectly crispy and creamy. They also delivered a little pot of their house sauce, which was made of cilantro and mint, and a bunch of other things. I tend to avoid cilantro and mint foods. In the past, I have described eating cilantro as biting down on a piece of tinfoil, a sensation that says "run for your life!" overtime my reaction to cilantro has mellowed, and I don't really understand why. But? I ate every bit of that house sauce. I'm so glad I tried it, and tried it with the eggs, Benedict, because it added a perfect level acidity to cut through that richness, and really elevated the dish. The top it all off, the service could not have been more welcoming, efficient, friendly. What a wonderful place!

After reviewing their large menu, you order at the counter. Everything is made fresh to order. There is also a wonderful selection of fresh pastry tempting you at the counter. Staff is friendly and welcoming. We ordered the primal bowl, maple bacon burrito and a raspberry lemon blondie. Everything was so fresh and delicious! You are expected to bus your own table, which we did not mind. Overall, prices were fair, maybe a little higher than one would expect for a burrito but their slightly higher prices allow them to pay staff a living wage rather than waitress wage. Because of this, they are a 'tip free' establishment. However, if you choose to do so, it goes to a community meal fund for locals which I think really sets them apart! Highly recommend for breakfast or lunch if you're in the area!

My other friend had the smash burger which she said was yummy too. Don't miss the fries! Generous amount served in a greasy paper bag and scrumptious like fresh cut fries should be. You can also get them seasoned with garlic and parm if you wish. The food came quickly and hot. The place seems like it's run like a well oiled machine. They serve it in to go wrapping and offer packets of condiments. I ordered the French Dip and an order of French fries. $16 + $8 so it's essential $25 for lunch. The sandwich contained a bit less beef than I would have expected for the price, as you can see in the photo. It came with a pint container of au jus for dipping. The sandwich was a bit greasy and fatty, not really a bad thing for umami, but a tad more greasy than I would have liked. The roll held up to the at jus. Excellent! The sandwich was dying for seasoning along with the au jus . Salt and pepper at minimum. It made a big difference. It was ok but bland. The French fries were a very large portion served in a paper bag ala Five Guys. You can tell they are trying to produce a good product. Sadly the fries had ZERO crisp and were limp and borderline soggy. I think they need to double fry if they continue to use the same cooking method. An almost good, but a miss. Here's my biggest issue. The menu is not conducive to eating solo. I tossed well over half of my fries, wasting food and money. They really should consider offering a side portion of fries with sandwiches that is half the current size at a reduced cost. It was enough of an issue to stop me from returning unless I go with other folks. I think they are trying. Reviews are good. Normally I'd come again and try something else. A few days ago they posted a photo of a chicken parm special sandwich that had looked phenomenal. But unless they adjust their menu to make portion choices more conducive for solo consumers, I won't return.
