The food: 4/5 Their salad is legit, similar to sweet greens or chopt. They also have a lot of options to choose from. I ordered Shanghai zeppelin with chicken and lime juice dressing today, and it was fairly tasty. I could have added a little more flavor to it though. The service: 2/5 Honestly I have never seen a team of associates who work so slowly. I noticed that one guy was more hardworking and faster than others, but other people were just chilling and took their time to make every single salad. They appeared very chatty and very slow. They could not be less respectful of their customers' time. Also, the quality of their work doesn't justify the time they put in. When I was there, they made an extra salad that nobody ordered/wanted (yes, more time wasted), and the entire team just seemed very disorganized. Conclusion: if you have plenty of time and are willing to wait in line, go for it. The food is decent. Otherwise, save yourself some time and avoid their long wait. read more

The bread is the best here. The concept they provide of putting a salad inside bread is not intriguing, but the bread is perfectly airy and crisp on the outside. Salad portions are large like any regulars salad bar, but extras that go in the salad are very small. You end up paying for a big bowl of lettuce. I do go here just to order bread though and the staff is really accommodating with that request. Quick and healthy for the business lunch. read more

Being a Led Zeppelin fan, I couldn't have ignored this place. I was a tad disappointed though because thru don't play led Zeppelin songs. Anyways, the concept is similar to WhichWhich where you use your creativity to embellish your sandwich. I had a Cobb salad bowl which came with grilled chicken, crumbled eggs and avocado with a side of carrot ginger lime dressing. What a joke! Salads and service are mediocre, at best. Would expect more from a new $$ establishment, but perhaps that's my problem. It was my first experience w/ Bread Zepp. I approached the counter to what appeared to be a half-baked (not talking bread), deadpan stare from, let's call him, the 'Salad Artist'; he was apparently waiting for me to make my move. Absent was a simple 'hello' or 'what can I get started for you'. Really, any sort of friendly salutation here would've worked. I disregarded realizing this guy was very probably on an introspective trip, wondering what confluence of life events brought him to this moment. "Where did it all go wrong...." It gets better. Moving down the assembly line, I was greeted by another less than enthusiastic line worker with a cap full of dreadlocks and a full Monty, nature's-very-own beard. Now, his job is to pour the dressing and chop the salad (seriously, that's all he does!). Seemed easy enough. But as he's chopping my salad into dime sized pieces, all I could think about is how much untamed, unbridled hair this guy has...and he's chopping my salad? And so, the salad. I ordered the Shanghai, Chinese chicken salad. Not to overkill on the chopping, but EVERYTHING was CHOPPED TO BITS, literally bits, maybe 10-12 "chops" away from becoming drinkable. The dressing was seriously unimpressive. (And I thought that was their thing!) When I opened the little plastic bowl, it wasn't very much more than a lump of chopped green leafy salad bits with remnants a pretty small (chopped-to-bits) cold, chicken patty. Come to the assembly line restaurant, like Chipotle or Potbelly, where they will make you a series of different salads which is nothing new. They put it together, add dressing, and chop it up to your specific liking. However, they can also take a baguette style piece of bread and hollow it out as if it was Bishop on Aliens and stuff that salad in. That is where the "Zeppelin" comes into play and its a nice contrast. It might seem super healthy but I think you shouldn't assume all the salads are good for your waistline. They have super rich varieties that can have you get John Bonham sized, even though they are very tasty. The atmosphere was really crowded at lunch and shockingly loud as a Robert Plant shriek . It was difficult to carry on a conversation rather waiting in line or sitting down. I enjoyed a Steak Southwest Zeppelin with avocado ranch and it can be a little light for heavy eaters, so if you're hungry grab a salad or two Zepps. They do also have special limited salads a la pumpkin spice at Starbucks, and for the fall they has Thanksgiving salads that looked amazing. I went the safe route and wanted to see how their standard menu was. Overall, it was good and overall light even though I ate an entire bread baton. The atmosphere was minimalistic and many similarities between here and Chipotle could be drawn in the setup of it all. I first went here when they first opened and I didn't have the best experience. I've been back a handful of times and I just can't get enough of their salads and sandwiches. My favorite is the Plymouth in either a bowl or a Zeppelin and I replace the turkey with chicken. Also I add the cranberry vinaigrette and it turns out amazing. Never thought a salad can be stuffed into a sandwich...Fantastic idea. Had the Kale-ifornia with shrimp because I had not tried kale. Loved the texture of the salad along with crunchy seeds, sweet chewy currants with a hint of lemon. The bread was toasted and held the salad nice. No mess here with things falling out of the bread. And the size was perfect and with some of the bread pulled out, I did not feel stuffed but satisfied. Definitely will try more of their creations. My only problem is that the place does get very crowded around 11-11:30 am and the ordering can get chaotic if you are trying to make your own sandwich. Cool concept. Went here for lunch and you can definitely tell this is a Las Colinas favorite. Go early or you will be waiting in line outside the door. Literally. There are a lot of restaurants in this shopping center so parking can be hard to find, but it's worth it. I tried the southwestern with Tejano caesar and it was great. read more

I really enjoy their salads, but I don't enjoy their prices. I always get Atlantis. Good thing I paid attention because they almost forgot my chicken. I feel sorry for the manager having to babysit most of these kids that work here, but she did hire them, right? I know if she wasn't around, they wouldn't get anything done because they like to play around. That's the bad thing about coming here. My roommate introduced me to this place last year soon after moving in to the area and it has become one of my go to places. For a moment I almost went here about once a week. It's become a little less frequent but still definitely a consideration every time I'm deciding what to eat. I'm happy it's expanded to other locations now. While I am always willing to try new things, I will have to admit I have only ever had one salad type from here: the Pacific Beach with Chicken. I've tried it in both zeppelin and salad form and will say the zeppelin is much better than its salad form but that is simply due to the Champagne vinaigrette I chose to include into the salad. I like the Chicken Pacific Beach zeppelin with Champagne vinaigrette too much for me to be willing to try something new even now, almost a year later. One day I'm sure I will venture to a different salad, but for now I will keep to what I know and crave. On the same note, I would not recommend the dressing in salad only form. For some reason, it just doesn't taste as good without the zeppelin bread. With it, it's amazing, without, it's not as good and not something I would get. I would love to say 5 stars all the way! But sadly I have to say the amount of leaf in the zeppelins have gone way down. In a salad bowl they're still quite plentiful, but now when I order my zeppelin (as opposed to last year) I only see maybe 4 or so PIECES of romaine lettuce. While this does allow for a more correct ratio of how much will actually be able to fit in a zeppelin (and if there are for some reason any extras they will give it to you in a to-go soup cup free of charge), it is still a bit sad to see how little leaf is actually put into the zeppelin. Additionally, sometimes I've noticed the avocados going just a bit brown due to being a little less fresh and exposed to the air, especially on the slower times. While its great to be able to take home the leftovers that would otherwise go to the trash (which is what they used to do), I would prefer just a bit more leaf and to maybe portion everything else a little more appropriately then and a bit more freshness in my salads/zeppelins. Still, I will return to satisfy my zeppelin cravings, no questions about it. read more

I like that they put so much of the green stuff and then chop it all up really well so that the toppings get mixed in nicely with each bite. Stuffed inside a hollow bakery fresh torpedo roll, every bite is perfect. Its so simple but so good. Absolutely fresh ingredients, either to your specifications or one of their concepts. Of all the salad bars on Macarthur, this one definitely takes the cake for me. I love everything about this place. Although I have not personally tried their salads on the menu (I prefer to make my own), I have heard nothing but great things about all of them, from friends, my parents, and even strangers I've had the pleasure of speaking to while we wait in line during the busy lunch hour. I don't know who thought of this concept of filling a baguette with a salad but its absolutely genius. Sometimes I opt out of the bread because the salad in general is surprisingly filling to me. Literally the only place I get legitimately full off a salad, with or without the bread too! They have such a big variety of dressings, I feel like I've tried majority of them, but I keep finding my way to good ol balsamic vinaigrette. I would highly recommend this place for a salad, because I feel like its different from the other salad bars in that area. Also, I think they're more affordable in comparison to the others. You are definitely getting what you paid for. The portion you get for all that salad or salad/bread, is definitely worth the money you pay. read more

Just tried it for the first time and I will probably be going back there every day next week for lunch. Extremely fresh, high-quality ingredients and they know how to keep it interesting. I got the Plymouth Rock and substituted mandarin oranges for beets. Love how they chop everything up a little smaller than bite size. Really, really good but next time I'll know to ask for less dressing. The team did a great job of keeping the line moving during the lunch rush and I was in and out in about 10 minutes. Overall, great menu options and friendly, fast service. Only thing I would ask is that they have sides other than chips. read more

Best "casual" salad concept I've been to. Period. I work in LC area and have driven by this place countless times. It has always intrigued me, but I never went out on a limb and tried it until today. I am definitely happy I did and will be adding it to my weekly lunch rotation! I was a big fan of Salata when it first opened and have steadily grown more irritated with it as time goes on. Many of their employees are rude, they are *extremely* stingy with their "unlimited" ingredients, stingy with napkins & recently raised their price for adding chicken. The last straw for me was when an employee said if I wanted a regular, non-water sized cup to put ice in, I'd have to pay an extra $1. (I had bought a canned soda since Salata does not offer a regular soda fountain). BZ takes all the good things I liked at Salata without any of the bad. First off, BZ's selection is incredible. The sheer # of combinations and ingredients are almost overwhelming, but they offer numerous "pre-configured" options to defer to if create your own is too intimidating. The other nice twist at BZ is the option of getting your salad in a "Zeppelin" which is basically hollowed out fresh, toasted baguette. I decided to try the Tejano Caesar Zeppelin with grilled chicken. The grilled chicken was awesome! Very fresh tasting, not overly processed at all. Caesar dressing and other ingredients were also fresh and very satisfying. I like that they let you pick from a HUGE array of dressings and will also let you dictate how much of the dressing you want. The other component I like is how finely they chop the salad right in front of you. It's nice to feel like you're getting to enjoy every ingredient in your salad in each bite, not just a concentration of large ingredients in one part of the salad. I also liked the drink options, which included a Coke soda fountain and several iced tea flavors w/splenda packets. My favorite dressing is white balsamic, and a lot of places don't offer it, so I look forward to going back and trying the Washington salad w/white balsamic. They recently opened a new location off Park & the Tollway near my house, so now I have the option of eating there when I'm at the office or at home. Looks like I won't be going to Salata ever again. read more

It's a fun selection of salads and zeppelin subs. The dressings are all amazing, but I've been unimpressed with the service. Avoid it on the weekend when the managers must not be around. There were only two of us in line and it took forever, the lady in front of me described it as a frat house. The workers were more into joking around with each other then working. It's the only time I've been disappointed so I only took it down a star. Bread Zepplin is the best thing since sliced bread but I have to give it only 3 stars since it's not the best place to come during lunch time. I got hear close to 11:30 and I was one person away from line being out the door. As I'm typing this review I'm still in line. Although I need to be in Grapevine by 12:20 I'm hoping I'll get to the front of the line to place my order in enough time. Otherwise I'll have to leave. Just moved here from DC and I was looking for somewhere to grab a nice salad for dinner. Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I located this place. I looked up the website and was overjoyed that they closely resembled one of my favorite salad restaurants in DC called Chopt. I knew I had to give them a try!! Upon entering, I was greeted with a few happy young faces. I ordered a salad bowl and they literally filled it to capacity with ingredients! Good thing I asked for my dressing on the side because now I have lunch for tomorrow!!! My salad was very fresh and extremely tasty! I went around 6p and there wasn't a line at all. I love this place! It is a cute little spot, great for lunch. I appreciate that they chop up their salads into really small pieces and the fact that you can customize in a variety of ways. I have had many of their pre-made salads as well. I like that their salads are very light and relatively healthy. They also make their dressings in-house, so they are different than the typical dressings you find at other restaurants. It gets crazy busy during lunch though. Often, there are no seats available, so I get mine to go. Try to get there before 11:30, or else the line may be out the door. read more

Not my fortay and I'm a huge salad fan but the whole thing was kinda "off" for me! I ordered the bread zeppelin bc that's what they're known for and it sounded delish. They have 8 different types of salads you can mix and match from and then you choose your veggies, proteins and dressing, they chop up it all together and put it between a baguette that they toast. The problem is they chopped it up until everything was mushy and when I eat a salad I like a little bit of everything in each bite but this seemed bland even with all the stuff I added. The bread was great though but I ended up opening the sandwich and eating the salad out of it and eating the bread separate, I think if it was in a bread bowl it would be better, if I go back Ill try a salad instead. read more
