I know the page says it's closed, but I just went here for the first time and wow it was delicious! It's located in a very unassuming strip of stores, next to a market. We ate pretty early around 5pm, and it was very empty, which was nice because it meant our food came fast. We tried the chicken shawarma bowl and the beef shawarma bowls. The food tasted delicious, but did seem a little less fresh, like maybe it had been sitting for a while, which would make sense because it wasn't exactly prime dinner hour yet, so maybe perhaps left from lunch? Either way, the portions were great, enough to take home leftovers. And the flavor of the meat was superb. They were so warm and kind to our family, especially our two year old. I appreciated the thoughtful touches the staff added to make our dining experience special. It definitely gave the cozy feeling of a mom and pop diner but mediterranean style! I loved it. I hate writing this because this used to be one of my favorite places. I've been coming here for a while, and today honestly felt like losing a local gem. I came in for the soft opening after weeks of renovations, and while the name and menu are the same, everything else is not. This is not the same restaurant. If you knew the original owner, you would know he created something special. It felt like you were being welcomed into his home. He took pride in the food and in making sure every customer felt well cared for. Appetizers always came out first with some friendly conversation, and you could feel the care he put into every detail. That experience is gone. First, I waited 30+ minutes for a dish that normally takes 15, even on a busy night. When I left, a couple who had ordered before me were still waiting for their wraps! Second, the food has changed. The chicken shawarma and gyro recipes are different, and the gyro was actually cold. The sauces, which used to be the highlight, are not the same. The red sauce is gone, and the garlic sauce tastes different. The rice is different. The salad is now a small pile of romaine, onion, cucumber, black olives, and corn with no dressing. Overall, the new recipes feel like a massive downgrade from the original recipes. Lastly, I told the host I would be dining inside, but my food was served in plastic containers. Meanwhile, a nearby group that appeared to be staff or family was served plated food that looked noticeably fresher and better prepared. It honestly felt like their food was prioritized over paying customers, which may have explained the delays. The menu photos have not changed, but they no longer reflect what is actually being served. That feels misleading, especially for customers like me who were excited for the reopening. I was seeking a great Mediterranean option in Coppell and Zaky Zayn did not disappoint! This location is less than a year old and it's already a standout. The Chicken Shawarma Bowl was top-notch; the chicken was perfectly cooked and the rice had a distinct, delicious flavor that paired so well with the spiced salad. The Chicken Kabob was another big hit for us. We also loved the fresh pita bread and the flavorful sauces on the side. The food was very good and fresh. I would come here again. The atmosphere is casual and very welcoming. Order at the counter, pay at the end, and no tipping. The gyro meat was different than I have had before smaller and thinner but still tasty. Chicken kabob meat was a little dry. The only down side was when we ordered and my husband stated he had a tomato allergy they did not make us aware if any appetizers we ordered were tomato free. The appetizers that could have easily been accommodated to our needs were not. My husband's meal was served perfectly. We will be more clear in the future. Stopped in for dinner and left a friend of the owner. He was great and we chatted for my whole meal. Another Dallas spot that's hidden in the corner of a strip mall. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about and it's connected to a market. I went with the baba ganoush and chicken shawarma bowl. The portions were large and fair for the price paid. They gladly offered to bring out more pita bread for my baba ganoush appetizer which was appreciated. I wish they had soda in the cool instead of just waters and something else I didn't recognize. Cool spot attached to a market. The food was flavorful and the staff was very friendly. Hummus with meat was excellent, but maybe another spoon more for portion would've been perfect. Chicken was great in flavor but the shawarma itself also was a little skinny compared to others, but still flavorful especially with the white and chili sauce. I love a good Mediterranean lunch. All the deliciousness with less of the guilt. This place is attached to a Mediterranean grocer under the shadow of the DART tracks, a bit of an offbeat location that I hope finds its audience. We ordered a kofta platter to share, with hummus and salad. It comes with warm bread, possibly made in house, along with a garlic sauce and a hot sauce. The kofta was super tender and flavorful, and I would absolutely order it again, although I am tempted to try the gyro next time. The bread was amazing. The service was great and they made sure we were happy, even offering us more bread. Yum. The platter was about seventeen dollars and perfect to split for two. I will definitely be back. read more

A modest Mediterranean restaurant thats attached to the Zayn market. I was meeting a friend in this area and this was open on a Monday night. This is surprisingly isnt the only Mediterranean place in Coppell, so good for the neighborhood to get some more diversity and culture. I ordered the lamb shish kabob with hummus and baba ghanoush as my side, as well as a salad. The lamb was slightly overcooked, as half the bites I took were not juicy and required some teeth mashing. The other half of the lamb meat was decent in its seasoning and taste. The pita bread they offer is the typical pita bread you get from a grocery store. I wish it was heated up. The hummus and baba ghanoush were both good, although I wished the baba ghanoush was more smoked. The salad was standard, but it did feel refreshing. Atmosphere wise its quite sterile with little decoration, design, and bright fluorescent lighting. It also doesnt help that they have giant windows with no shade. I also took offense to the fact that the cashier who was handling money before my order wasnt switching out her gloves before preparing my food. I had to stop her and address this issue in order to have basic sanitation followed. While I dont dismiss this place, I wasnt impressed. Compared to some of the other Mediterranean places closer to my house that have opened, this place feels quite inferior. I am in love with all things about this restaurant. Came in by myself for to-go and met owner Primo. He's very conversational and knowledgeable. While I waited he gave me a complimentary small order of Zaky Fries and a mini kibbeh. Both were delicious and I'll order again. My to-go food was just over $20 and fed 2 of us. We enjoyed everything and will definitely be back. My favorites were the gyro on a non-traditional bread, hummus and white garlic sauce. The gyro wrap was really interesting, a little cinnamony with a delicious thin wrap from a local bakery and not a ridiculously large thing like gyros often tend to be. Not what I'm used to but absolutely loved it and recommend it. His baba ghanouj is smoky and flavorful. The hummus was great. The olive oil drizzle has a great flavor. Authentic Mediterranean, Halal food. You can tell they make it in store due to the homemade spices they use. Tastes like mom's cooking! I think I met the owner. Unsure, I didn't ask. But he was nice and was willing to help us out if we had any questions. The pita was so delicious. I think it was complementary, but I am unsure about that too since I ordered hummus. Anyways, I ate that up. It came out hot. It came with two dips. One garlicy white sauce and a tangy orange sauce. The pita tasted amazing when I combined the two sauces. I tried the chicken bowl as well, but it wasn't really my kind of seasoning. The chicken was well-made though. It was my first time trying such a cuisine, and I guess it's not for me. Started eating here a year ago and the food and owner were great! Best Mediterranean food I've ever had, fresh and extremely tasteful. But, it was recently sold and unfortunately it now sucks! Chicken under cooked and has WAY to much cinnamon poured all over it. Salad is dry and tasteless and the sauces are terrible.... I love this place! I come here for lunch quite often when i forget to bring a lunch to work and it has become a regular spot for me in the area. The owner always recognizes me and is very nice. The food is amazing - I initially tried this place because I was looking for something Mediterranean/healthier than other spots nearby and it did not disappoint. The salad that comes with the chicken shawarma is so unique and flavorful and I love how tender the chicken is.
