Perfect mix of clever puzzles, solid theming, and that immersive "you're actually in the story" vibe without going overboard. The host was the absolute highlight -- most awesome, energetic, and genuinely helpful guy. He set the tone right from the jump, explained everything clearly, kept things moving without giving anything away, and had this perfect balance of hype and chill that made the whole experience feel easy and exciting. You can tell he actually cares about people having a great time. Room itself was creative as hell. Great flow, no cheap gotchas, and the finale felt earned. First time visiting Deadline Escape Rooms and I have to say--it was such a fun experience! I'm not usually into anything scary, gory, or horror-related, but I do love a good detective, sleuth, or murder mystery theme--and this definitely delivered. The representative who greeted us was pleasant, friendly, and very welcoming (I'm so sorry I forgot her name!). She set the tone for a great experience right from the start. We only had time to complete Episode One, but we all thoroughly enjoyed it and are already planning to come back for Episode Two. And yes--we escaped! We didn't beat the best time, but that just gives us something to aim for next time. What really stood out was how well the clues were designed. They guided you through solving the mystery without leaving you feeling stuck or confused. Some escape rooms can make you wonder, "Okay... what's next?"--but not here. What an adventure! We did the Witch Doctor. Five of us decided to try our hand at escaping with the help of the Voodoo Priestess. We did finish in an hour and seven minutes and did use several clues, but a grand time was had by all. Can't wait to come back and try another escape room. I've heard good things about this place! So I was disappointed when my group of 8 (7 +1 kiddo) kept running into technical difficulties on the Lady of the Lake room. We made it out with ~ 23 mins left but had to constantly talk with our person to make sure that our next clues were properly activated to trigger the next event. We ran into 2 cases where we didn't solve something in the right order and because of the technical difficulties, we had to stop and wait for the employee to fix the issue. We waited on/ off for about 15 mins throughout the whole room. It was hard because we lost our momentum and were left more confused because we didn't know the cause/ effect of all the puzzles. I'm giving 3 stars only because the storyline was cool, and I had a friend go and complete the room successfully a few weekends later read more

Loved this escape room! Multi-room escape room, each room was done very well, puzzles are clever, challenging, and entertaining. You really feel like this escape room takes you to another place and time which you would not ever get to experience otherwise. Our group has done about 10 escape rooms throughout California and Nevada and this was a favorite of ours. Did "noir" with 4 friends for a birthday. Not a great experience compared to other escape rooms I've done. The host, Onyx, seemed like she didn't like her job. The escape room was set up so the 2nd puzzle you are supposed to solve didn't make sense. We spent almost 20 minutes on it and finally asked for a clue. It was annoying because we are all pretty smart. we still finished in time. At the end, Onyx disappeared and didn't offer to take our groups photo, like every other escape room we have done. we just took our own photo outside. read more

The Freak Show room was one of the best escape rooms we've done. Very detailed and the room makes you feel like you're at a circus

We tried the Freakshow escape room. The circus themed room is creative and has challenging puzzles. Our group of seven did not make it out in time, but we still had fun. In fact, we might go back to try and complete the second half. They offered us a 50% discount if we want to return. The staff is very friendly and helpful explaining the rules. You can tell that they have paid attention to every detail. The sound is very clear in the rooms - and if you need a hint, the box always works. I have a group of friends I pretty regularly do space rooms with. We had actually been at another one in town where the game master had recommended Deadline to us. We were told there was a room where you had to be fairly quiet or else the lights went out in the room. Immediately we knew this sounded up our alley! The parking situation at Deadline is very generous so no need to worry about carpooling. Once we arrived, we were greeted and pretty much went right into our game room. The name of the game is "Dead Silence". You can speak in hushed tones. It was only when we accidentally banged something that the lights went out and thankfully, it only lasts for 20 seconds. The puzzles were somewhat unique. I feel like though the room says up to 8 people, with the 7 of us, we had "too many cooks in the kitchen". The room really kept us on our toes while trying to figure out what could come next. It was really fun! We all really enjoyed ourselves. My husband loves escape rooms... Me? Not the biggest fan. But this place had me engaged and working to find a way out! We scheduled an escape room last minute as a double date with some close friends so there weren't many options. We were left with the escape room that was described as a murderers basement. I was not excited... Especially since the description also mentioned the lights would be going out of we made too much noise. Yikes! When we arrived we had access to small lockers to put our belongings and coats in which was really nice. The escape room wasn't too large, but very realistic! We did take the entire time to escape but it was so much fun! We really had to use our smarts to get through some of the puzzles. Overall, great experience!! I'm a huge fan of escape rooms and I'm glad we're getting more of them here in the Reno area. Deadline is definitely shaping up to be a great addition to the mix. The entrance/waiting area doesn't give much in the way to how aesthetically pleasing the rooms are. There is a monstrous skeleton you can snap some pictures with though! I'm excited to see what these folks do. I think these guys are going to give my favorite escape room a run for their money. Unlike other places they didn't give us a little "backstory" video on how we ended up in our escape room predicament. Instead the game master walked us into the room and put us where we belong and said their farewell. Once they closed the door the action began as a narrative started to play. I won't spoil anything for those who have yet to do it. But, we did the Circus themed room and the narrative was led by the crazy ring leader who had alternate motives than letting us leave! The attention to detail was pretty neat in here, it really screamed callbacks to the earlier days of the big top tents and feats of wonder. I'm stoked to try the rest of their rooms. My team did great. They also have a unique feature (not sure if it is for all rooms) but the circus room had a regular and challenge mode. And the challenge mode was said to have. Couple more puzzles and they don't give you hints. I will be going back and also opting for the challenge mode since my team rocked so hard with the normal mode. read more
