Our game master, Max, was great. They were very immersive and fun! The room itself was awesome. The level of detail in the design was wonderful, very immersive, and the difficulty level was just right. Challenging without being impossible. I also liked the way clues were handled, not having to do the walkie talkie like most other places made the whole experience more consistent. We did the Blood of the Original room and there were a few little scares, nothing popping out at you really just startling noises but they made me squeal a bit lol. Overall my husband and I had a great time and will definitely visit again for the dragon room! I hope they add more rooms soon, I'd love to see more from them. read more

Me and my wife, ages 22 and 23, attended our very first escape room to celebrate my wife's 23rd birthday, and it was an unforgettable experience. Not only did we have an amazing time, but all of our loved ones did as well. The escape room was perfectly balanced--not too hard and not too easy--which made it enjoyable for everyone. Our director, Katelyn, was incredible. She fully stayed in character while still cracking jokes and keeping the atmosphere fun and lighthearted. I came to Keystone with 4 other people recently to try our skills at the Dragon Alley Room. With the help of the game room host who gave us a few tips and hints along the way, we were able to complete the tasks before the time ran out. We enjoyed our time in the room and working together was a good way to get to know each other better. We had a lot of laughs. Our host explained everything thoroughly before we entered. The area where the business is located is a bit rough so that would be my only reason to look for another escape room establishment in a nicer area. read more

We went in with an open mind, not knowing exactly what to expect, but any concerns about being disappointed quickly disappeared. The experience was thrilling and super fun! My partner and I went to celebrate our marriage and it was the best! It was our first time to this location as well and we couldn't have asked for a better host or game partner (thanks, Jim!). The game starts as soon as you get to the location. There's a gate with a QR code that you scan to receive a puzzle for the main gate code (code is blacked out in my photo). Once you get in, you head down the stairs to the main entrance and find your host (hopefully, it's Max!). You walk in to find an on-theme lobby area and a dimly lit hallway. The lights also flicker to add to the ambiance, which in hindsight was great. I had to use the restroom, which was all the way down the dimly lit hallways and I was a little bit of a wuss puss because of the flickering lights, so Max was kind enough to walk me all the way. If you've never done an escape room, they give you the low down as expected, but if you have, you get right into the game and start your game as soon as you're ready. We took on the dragon room and beat it with a minute and a half to spare! The intro was very well told by Max while Jim supported us with additional clues and confirmations along the way. When we finished, Max took our pictures and even allowed us to hold the winning crystal and have the photo in the room as well. Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience. Max and Jim were so much fun and they added some extra fun with a little magic and lore, but I'll leave them to share those bits so as to not spoil your fun. We can't wait to go back! read more

10/10 would recommend! Decided to come here on a whim today (3/11) with my classmates. Long story short; randomly became besties with 3 of my classmates instantly on our school trip in Reno. I brought up doing an escape room and 2 of them have never done it and were down to do it. The front door has a code which we weren't really thinking and just trying to hurry to get in. We were sort of freezing lol. We finally got in and met our Grand Master, Maxwell. Maxwell was so pleasant and loved how it went with the theme, Dragon Alley. We got some hints along the way but for the most part, we were able to solve it! We kept raving how fun this was when we left and how great of a bonding activity it was for us especially because we just met 3 days ago! read more

We went for my birthday month and the games started right when you get there I was a little nervous at first cause I was a little scared lol. What a great time we had!! My wife and I went with our friends and took on the dragon room and made it out with 4:30 left! The room design and game design is awesome, they did a fantastic job creating it. These rooms are designed differently than the other ones we've tried. All the other ones you need to go clue by clue but this one you can do two different steps at once and can split up to solve them faster! Zack was very nice and helpful throughout our whole game! I am blown away. So full disclosure. I had never done an escape room till recently. My buddy was trying to tell me I shouldn't be worried because I play videogames. But I feel like that doesn't necessarily mean that it might translate to escape rooms. Theres a reason I don't like to play zelda games. I'm not trying to deal with puzzles. So I definitely was a little reluctant at first to try this experience. But I am happy to say that this place exceeded all my original expectations. I believe my buddy had a reservation for the Blood of the Original. From the minute we opened the door I was blown away. A short chick with what looked like a train conductor kind of hat slides out from a random door and greets us while in character the whole time. She showed us to our locker and just gave us a quick rundown on rules and what to expect. When we had no questions we were locked into the room and it was then that the escape room began. My group had a total of 5 peeps. As the experience went on I noticed that we had a good vibe on roles from the start. Some peeps excelled at deciphering information. Some were good at putting puzzle together. I feel like for myself, I did a good job at finding items for the team or pointing out things that seemed out of the ordinary. With all our strengths put together we were able to finish with about 5-10 mins to spare. I can't believe this is what escape rooms were like. I was just so memorized by the lengths this company went to make the aesthetics in side so appropriate for the theme of the challenge. Even the music fig perfectly for our scenario. If we ever got stuck, we could look at a screen in the corner of the room for hints. I didn't even think before we started that this would be an option so I thought that was cool. Overall though I feel Keystone has set the bar for what an escape room should be like. I think the goal is that you wanna feel immersed in a fictional world and I definitely feel like that was accomplished. There was just so much variety with the way you had to decipher clues and solve puzzles to get to the next challenge. Everything was just so carefully crafted. So for all these reasons I highly recommend this place. They definitely have forever changed my expectations for an escape room but also have set the bar for what I expect a good escape room to have. Such a fun experience that we did with our friends! There were four of us and that was the perfect amount of people. We did the Dragon Alley room, which is there newer room. It was so much fun! I loved the ability to be able to solve multiple puzzles at once. We haven't been to another escape room that gives you the chance to solve multiple puzzles at a time. It totally helped us to get out of the room quicker and it kept us all engaged! Zach was our game master and a kick in the pants! He was funny, and helped us along the way with good ole' skeleton Jim! I really appreciated the hints that we were given too. They didn't just tell us what to do, which was appreciated as well. We were lucky enough to book about an hour before we came in! It's also cheaper per person than other places we've been to and much more enjoyable! A year ago my husband and I visited Keystone Escape Games and really enjoyed it. We were sad to learn they only had one room. For months I've been checking their website to dee if they made a new room and I was very excited recently to see they did. Upon arrival everything was different. Our host was different. They didn't have the speech memorized and added a lot of "ummms" and "well uhs," delaying our time to get into the room. Once we entered the room there was a part that interacted with us. It was clear right away it was the host speaking rather than a pre recorded speech. It was clear by the same ummm and uhhhhs, which already took away from the story. Also they dragged it all out for way to long before we could start. Once we started the first thing I noticed is there was probably 5 things we could do at the same time. 98% of the rooms we have done you complete X to get to Y and that takes you to Z. This room felt like everything was there are once which was overwhelming. I have adhd so it's hard enough to focus but picking a starting place here was very hard. What bothered me the most though is the host continued talking. If they didn't feel like we were figuring out something fast enough they would just give a clue or say "I tried that and it didn't work." That really really frustrated me. The way every room we have ever done (including the other Keystone room) has worked is they don't give you a clue unless you ASK. It was very frustrating because we would leave one thing to work on something else that may have been easier to figure out and all of the sudden the host would come over the speaker and say "maybe you should revisit this," thus distracting us from what we were doing and interrupting our train of thought. There were several things to collect at once and none related to the other. When we got into the second and third rooms it was more of the same. 5 different things we could work on at once. The whole thing felt very disconnected. Like I said every other room we have done, each clue leads you to the next. Often times making items you thought were nothing, suddenly important. But this room everything was obviously a puzzle, thing to collect, thing to do, etc, so there was no story line to follow. No exciting build up. It just felt like we were constantly struggling to figure out what to solve first and running around with no rhyme or reason. I'm sad at how different this visit was from the first one. I'm also very very bothered by the host giving us unwelcome clues. My husband and I have done nearly every room in reno and we like to see how far we can get without hints. We like to never have more than two hints. Having hints given against our will really distracted and bothered me. I finally spoke up and asked the host to please stop telling us what to do unless we asked. They were silent for a bit but alas began talking again. "Maybe you should look over there again," "maybe you should do this." Also it was $91+ for two people. That is the most expensive of the rooms we've done in reno and it was the least organized, and least fun. All of the other rooms are about $27 a person, making it $54 for two. Paying an additional $37 for a terrible experience was the final wound. We won't return if they create additional rooms. read more

This is such a fun experience! My friends and I have been to a couple escape rooms together and it is some of our favorites that we have done together. We did the Blood of the Original puzzle. There were 7 of us and the room/puzzles were pretty straight forward. Our Game Master, RJ, was really fun to work with and got into character, which made it an even better experience. On the website, it said: "Difficulty Level: 6 -7 (Good for Any Level of Experience) Scary Level: 7 Slightly Scary" However, I believe that the difficulty is a 5/10 and the scary level is 5/10 too. Maybe it is because we had such a large group. The room can be a bit spooky for younger children, but nothing is too scary. There may be some spooky moments, but you can experience it yourself and see ;). We got through without any hints and 15 minutes to spare, so I think this can easily be accomplished with a smaller group or a duo! Like any other escape rooms, there are no phones allowed, nor any other belongings. You can store them in a locker before entering! There isn't a need for a phone, except maybe one or a calculator if someone in your group isn't good at math (like me ;--;) ;P. The location is quite weird to be honest. Parking is quite easy. There is a lot in front of the building with stores like Pet Vets, Rishi Yoga, and the likes facing the lot. To get to the escape room, there are signs to easily follow, but it is down a set of stairs and sorta in the back of the building. Compared to other escape rooms, it isn't as techy or modern, but the puzzles and the theme is really cool, making for a great experience! There are only two rooms to book from at the moment, but I hope they add more rooms and some that are even more difficult and scary! read more

This is the best escape room I've ever been to in Reno. Great production values with several VERY satisfying surprises, a few light scares that induced shrieks and giggles, but most importantly - the best overall game design. The puzzles are all clever, requiring just enough lateral thinking *without* requiring digging through heaps of red herrings, searching for numbers on every object in the room, or extended revisiting of previous clues and objects. Every puzzle flows logically from the previous one, and there is a huge degree of interaction and immersion. Lots of objects that didn't just require casual inspection, but which were embedded parts of the room that needed to work together in clever ways. I won't spoil anything, but in this respect you will not be disappointed. Another word on the clever design of this place - rather than requiring participants to call for help from the game master over a Walkie Talkie, all puzzle rooms are continuously monitored, with hints strategically offered at key points if you either request one out loud, or appear to desperately need one. Even better - rather than these hints being offered over the radio by an employee, they are displayed on a large LCD panel near the front door of the room. When hints appear, there's the sound of a clocktower chiming, letting you know that you should go look at the panel to get the information you need to proceed. I found this exceedingly smart, as it is far less immersion-breaking, and adds to the sense of urgency the room creates overall. As your time winds down and you complete more tasks, the pace even picks up. At a point when many rooms will have you rifling through past clues to figure out what you missed, this room will have you running, giggling, and screaming as you scramble to solve the last few puzzles, which are designed to be solved more quickly. Smart, smart, smart. This room is a blast. I hope that the people who designed it here at Keystone are at work on some more - they clearly know what they're doing! read more

Welp! We FINALLY got to go here again which was our most awaited 2nd escape room we wanted to visit at the Keystone Escape games. This is my 2nd update for this place and now they have the 2nd room open which is about dragons! We found out it was finally ready 3 weeks ago and so we had to call and speak to Lacey and Mark because we wanted to book for my wife's birthday again. This room is so new that they only open it for the weekends BUT Lacey and Mark were kind enough to open it for us for our visit. Well we just finished it as i type this and it DOESN'T DISAPPOINT! Although it cannot possibly surpass our all time FAV (which is their first escape room "Blood of the original") we still give it A+++! The room was extremely fun, immersive and Jim was too cool ;) Mark and Lacey also mentioned they are going to have a 3rd room soon so now we have something to look forward to next year!
