Our tasting guide definitely knew her stuff and I appreciated all the time she's put in with Sculpterra! I loved how they grew pistachios too and have them for purchase to enjoy with your wine. All the sculptures are so unique and interesting. You could even find details of iron work in the bathroom! Very cool. The outdoor area was beautiful and it was fun to check out the big photos and play some bocce pall. Beautiful winery! This was the first winery we visited for the Paso weekend. I made a reservation in advance and we were greeted right away and brought to the outdoor tasting area. I figured we would be seated but the tasting occured standing up at the bar, which was fine. The tastings were generous, and customizable. My friend decided to do a white tasting, and I did the standard tasting. It was pretty hot, so about halfway through the tasting, we sat down at a table in the shade and walked up for the rest of our tastings but by that time, a large group had come through so the server was busier but still managed to remember where we were in the tasting. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. When we were done with our tastings, we walked around the property to look at the sculptures and the grounds. I did buy a bottle of wine and picked it up inside where they had other items for sale from local vendors, including our server who makes soap with her goat's milk. read more

Beautiful property, genuinely disappointing experience. We stopped at Sculpterra at the end of a great day of tasting in Paso Robles, and it should have been the highlight. The grounds are gorgeous, the sculptures throughout the property are genuinely impressive, and the music and scene were a great backdrop. The wine itself seemed perfectly decent. But the experience on the ground was bad enough that none of that mattered by the time we left. We didn't have a reservation, that's on us. But the website says reservations are recommended, not required, so we figured we'd try anyway. From the moment we walked in, it was clear we weren't wanted. The hostess hustled us into a side room, then walked off, at which point a server immediately told me -- not pleasantly -- that I was standing in the wrong place. When I asked about a few wines I was interested in, I was met with a clear lack of interest, capped off by being rudely told to just get a glass of muscat, like the suggestion was as much about getting rid of me as it was a recommendation. So that's what we did, and then we left. We tasted at several other wineries in Paso Robles that day and had wonderful experiences at every one of them. Staff who were warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely happy to have us, reservation or not. Sculpterra was the only stop where we walked away having spent next to nothing, and it's the only place on the entire trip we'll never go back to, no matter how nice the grounds are. At Sculpterra.... They are in the business of turning water into wine....... One grape at a time!!! Yeah, I didn't believe it either, but then I saw a sign in their vineyard that proved me wrong. It read: "Water into Wine" And now, I'm a believer! So what brought us to this magical place you ask?? Well, besides the obvious (the wine).... It was the.... ok you caught me!! We came for the wine! Yeah, we were staying at the Ava Hotel in Paso for my wife's birthday weekend (definitely check this place out if you are looking for a beautiful spot to call home away from home) And being that we were in wine country.... We wanted a nice outdoor vineyard where our kids could be outside, run around, and get all of their energy out all while Mommy & Daddy had our own little R&R time sippin' on the good stuff. And let me tell you, it was Good Stuff! When we first arrived at Sculpterra, we already knew the place was going to be a hit as the parking lot was hoppin. And apparently we weren't the only ones that got the memo that this place was THE PLACE to be as it was just a little bit off the beaten trail from where we started out... Approximately 6 miles from "Downtown Paso" (through the city limits, down the 'ol country back roads and suddenly we were in wine country!) Prior to heading to the vineyard, we did a quick pit stop at McDonalds for the kids so they had something they liked. As for me and my wife, we opted to get some of the local fare items offered on site, cause what goes better with wine than a yummy charcuterie board? I'll answer that momentarily! But wait, theres more!!!! Upon finding a nice little table outdoors to sit and relax with our wine chilled in a bucket of ice, there was suddenly music to our ears and Love to my eyes! Yes, there was lovely Live Music being played by a band and out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a food truck serving Mexican Food from a local Mexican restaurant. Remember earlier when I said what goes better with wine than a charcuterie board? Well, if you guessed a little Mexican Food, then you are oh so right, but only in moderation! So in order not to ruin the good vibes of the beautiful vino from Sculpterra, I opted for just one taco and a cup of their poblano soup and man was it fire. The soup was piping hot and it had a kick of spice that made me spice from ear to ear. As far as the wine, the vineyards vibe and the entire aesthetic of the grounds, Sculpterra Winery & Sculpture Gardens (the vineyard was adorned with many abstract and contemporary pieces that are all photo worthy), this place checks all the boxes. The place is kid friendly as there is plenty of space, both indoors and out, with areas for the kids to throw a ball, run around, or even learn to play a g as a game of chess. A decent variety of Reds, Whites, & Blends are all up for grabs, so if you find yourself in Paso Robles with the fam or its just you and your hunny, definitely come check this place out and watch the miracle of them turning water into wine! read more

Had such a lovely time at this top winery in Paso Robles. The place is full of beautiful sculptures and things a like to view. Did a tasting here and thought the wines were really clean and delicious so we decided to become members on the spot. We had excellent service and enjoyed learning a lot about the land and how the winery came to be. They even had fresh pistachios that are grown on the land. Not gonna get much better than that! We decided to stay for a while and enjoy the live music and food trucks before we headed out. Now that we are members we will have to keep coming back! read more

More than just your typical winery, there is art, sculptures, a rich history at Sculpterra. We wine tasting on a Friday and were one of the few guest there, Darren took the time to curate a tasting for our preferred wine since we are not really red dry wine consumers. Our favorite was the bubbly white wine., crips Apple flavor. Outdoor greets you with a small wine tasting area along with a wall of artworks to be admired. Cook sculptures, beautiful grounds. Sauvignon Blanc was good. Chardonnay was also ok but I preferred the Sauvignon Blanc as it was lighter and crisper. We were on a schedule so didn't linger too long, otherwise I would have liked to try a red. At $10/glass it was quite reasonable. We came because Google said it was kid-friendly, and it was definitely a good recommendation. The grounds are fun. They have some historical art stuff, interesting sculptures, beautiful landscaping, lots of space, pretty vines, bocce ball, and ping pong. Dear Hubby prefers beer, and I don't drink alcohol, so our reason for visiting Sculpterra was to accompany my brother, sister-in-law, and niece on their wine tasting adventure. We also had heard that the property was highly unique and one of the top places to visit in the Paso Robles area. As we had our Sweet Granddaughter with us we didn't spend too much time indoors, but rather outside checking out the plentiful artwork. The visitor center building has its own singular appeal as the very artistic former metalworks studio. On the grounds is also what I assume is the production winery building. There are cultivated gardens with seating areas, plus a bocce ball court. SG used that as a place to run laps against a timer to get some energy out. Extremely large metal sculptures depicting animal figures and mythical creatures dot the exterior spaces. There's a steampunk industrial inspiration for many of the art pieces, which lends fascination. Not something you'd expect to find in the middle of rolling hills of expensive grapevines. In the winery's gift shop cold bottled water and light snacks are available to purchase, along with their wines, of course. Our family members enjoyed their wine tasting and purchased a few bottles to go. They praised the staff member who educated them about the facility and the wines as being very informative in an interesting way. I was intrigued and impressed with the large wall of historical photographs and supporting text that lines the side of an adjacent building to the tasting room. The history outlined about the early days of Paso Robles would be a great start for a research paper on those wild and wooly times. Infamous outlaws like Jesse & Frank James had ties in the area. My understanding is that you would want to get a reservation in advance for wine tasting and plan to spend some time at the winery and grounds to enjoy the remote setting. It is out in the countryside some miles from town, so plan extra time to get there. Amazing spot! read more

Its my second time coming to Sculpterra and just like the first time I had a blast! What a great winery! We came in on saturday during Labor Day Weekend, and this place was pretty busy I highly suggest making a a reservation and coming in earlier. The tasting room itself is actually not that big, but after your done doing your tastings, you can definitely order a bottle or wine by the glass and explore the grounds. Theres beautiful sculptures and art pieces throughout the grounds. Our host while we were there was Kat and she was super friendly and in addition to the 6 tastings that were on the list, she asked us the right questions, checking in to see what kind of grape or taste we were leaning towards and in doing so we were able to try several other tastings of their wine. Which of course led us to joining their wine club and getting a bunch of bottles, but thats how these things go. Anyway f you get Kat as your in for a treat. read more

We went to Sculpterra as walk-ins yesterday and we were pleasantly surprised! There was no availability for wine tasting but the host recommended we go to the bar and sample some wines and we could buy by the glass or bottle. We got a great server, Kat! The courtyard hedge garden entrance is a beautiful space. Scattered seating among the iconic "Golden Morning" stretch cat. A majestic display of metal sculptures to admire throughout the venue while sipping on a glass of wine. Various sculptures are used for certain wine bottle logos. The artistic displays may trigger a sight to taste familiarity to a red or port. Walking in you'll find paintings, art displays, jewelry, merch and specialty items available for purchase. Along with wine they also have their own pistachio orchard. Flavored pistachios are bagged and ready for the road trip home. Service was friendly and welcoming. We chose our bottle 2021 Statuesque and headed out toward the back venue space. Large metal bent and shaped into figures on a grand scale is so interesting to admire. We found a foosball table and enjoyed a few rounds. Lawn bowling and corn hole toss were also in play by other guests. Ventured into the vineyard and finished our bottle at a picnic table by an old acorn tree. The tranquility out here is just superb. On select nights they have live bands performing. A wonderful space for special events. Would definitely return to try more of their wine. Visited towards the end of October the weather was gorgeous. read more

We didn't do any tastings this time but instead went to the bar and bought a bottle to enjoy while we relaxing on the grounds. A Must-See Vineyard Experience in Paso! This vineyard is an absolute gem in Paso Robles. There's so much to see and enjoy while sampling their wide selection of wines, especially their well-known Heroe wines. I loved all the whites and the rosé, too. The employees and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The grounds are stunning, filled with beautiful art, great music, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. We had a blast wandering through the vineyard, snacking on their homegrown pistachios, and even playing a little foosball. You can easily spend hours here soaking it all in. Sharing this review way too late for how good of a time we had at Sculpterra. I'd had this place on my radar throughout my Paso visits, so when we were finally staying on the East side, minutes from Sculpterra, we had to check it out. If you can't tell by the name, this is both a vineyard/winery and sculpture garden. The property is pretty expansive with loads of space for you to roam around. I was blown away by just how many sculptures there actually were! Just about everywhere you looked there was something cool to see. We did our tasting outside under a canopy of trees, much needed on the warm day that it was. There were two bars, one of which we had almost to ourselves. We were helped by Fraizer who shared so much about the property, sculptures, and wines, he was a great host. He also had some great recs which we took and used on our next Paso trip. Cool things to note - they had a foosball and ping pong table that although were technically sculptures, you could actually play with! They had awesome history boards that talked about history in the central coast and Paso, super cool and informative. And, you could actually walk through the vines! We did a tasting and then got glasses to enjoy as we strolled the property. Would definitely come back and do the same, and hopefully spend even more time walking around. We went home with three bottles, and seriously consider joining their wine club because we had such a great time. Maybe if we're able to get down to Paso more in the future! read more

With so many reviews and photos on this listing already, I will keep it simple. GO! Just go! You will not be disappointed with your visit here. My husband and I hardly drink and this was one of the highlights of our trip through the area. They have beautiful grounds. The sculptures are lovely and the gardens are manicured. They are dog friendly. We brought our pup and she enjoyed exploring and lounging in the shade. The music and ambiance are lovely and they even have a section dedicated to their history if you enjoy that sort of thing. The wine is good and flights are reasonably priced and if you just wanted to come for the art it's literally a free day of exploring beauty! What have you got to lose? read more

Sculpterra offers a totally unique wine experience with amazing art and sculptures in a beautiful setting. Loved. A few choices for tastings (and prices to match): outside standing in the front garden, standing in the tasting room, casual seating with a glass on the center grounds (with live music sometimes), and under-the-gazebo seating with wine tasting. All of which, I like. The wine was quite good. Under-the-gazebo featured premium wines for tasting, $50, and I'm a fan for 4 out of the 6 wines. Prices for bottles were $40-100 each, less if you join their club. Special "shout out" to Darren, our educator. A very nice chap! More for the art sculptures: it's a wow. The weather was sunny with a light breeze, and there was ample seating in the gardens and live music provided by a local artist. First of all, this winery is a smorgasbord for the senses. We arrived 10 minutes before they officially opened. We walked around the front garden, interacted with the beautiful cats, and took in the surroundings! I was already in love with it. Then Kat opened the doors and admitted us into the beautiful tasting room. I love all the items! They displayed a wide variety of artists on the walls. Kat was a great host and showed us a wide variety of wines. Keep in mind that we got there right before they opened. She was so great ! We took our samples around the winery. While walking around, we saw a huge history wall! What a wonderful tribute to the history of Paso Robles! This history wall talked about the changes to the area and it really made me feel the connection this winery had with the location. Also Kat discussed under ground water sources for the area. I really loved that history wall. Walking around, we saw that this amazing winery also supports medical missions around the world. We spoke with Kat who explained that a portion of the proceeds goes to the medical missions. These amazing owners provide free medical care to people around the world! Another wall is a tribute to Mexican-Americans! Seriously?! Could I love this place any more?!!!! Kat shared the history of the vines. We had such a great time wine tasting and walking around the art. We were so inspired by this place that my husband and I began discussing how we could give back to our community.... Imagine our surprise when we were about to leave a review and found the most rude and ignorant comments about the history wall, the charity work that this winery supports, etc. One commenter was shocked she did not have their own sommelier, another complained that she was not provided a fresh glass with each wine sample. We have been to a LOT of wine tastings all over the world. Unless you order a tasting flight when you get all the samples at one time, you are not getting a new glass for every sample in most places. Another person was offended by the art and jewelry. Really?!!! As for us, we love this winery. Came here back in September as part of our Paso Robles trip. We chose this winery because of all the sculptures and upon recommendation from our AirBNB host. The venue also looked like it had plenty of shade for a hot summer day. Each wine tasting is $20 and you get to try six different kinds of wine. Reservations recommended. The sauvignon blanc and cabernet reserve were my favorites. Our sommelier was very knowledgeable but seemed rushed/overwhelmed since it was busy and a Saturday afternoon. Apparently, the property expands over 260 acres with twelve different grape varietals. After sipping on some wine, we took a leisurely stroll through the vineyards and got to look at all the sculptures on display. Apparently, majority of the statues were designed by a world-renowned sculptor named John Jagger who spent five years creating animal-inspired statues out of bronze and granite. What a feat! I love that the owner is a patron of the arts and music. Plus, I didn't know this at the time, but apparently, part of the proceeds earned go towards "His Healing Hands" - a medical missionary foundation that sends medical missionary teams on short-term trips all over the world to care for underserved populations in other countries. Overall, we enjoyed our time at Sculpterra and would highly recommend visiting in the future. I can't think of any other winery where art and wine are so well-integrated with one another. read more

Outstanding day at Sculpterra! The food from "Fusion Food Truck" was incredibly tasty. Had the Ahi Salad which was insanely good! The sesame vinaigrette was packed with flavor, tuna perfectly seared on the outside and fresh greens. Would definitely recommend this option. Fries were crispy and hot. The stars of the day were the wine...of course. The Bentley Ironworks Cab was perfection and aroma was devine. Wifey had the Paso Pink which she thoroughly enjoyed. Service was excellent, everyone very very inviting. You are surrounded by grounds that are meticulously manicured with sculptures about. Quality/Quantity - My favorite winery in SLO! Okay... In Paso Robles. Well in both cities, regions, etc. Another must visit. We now buy a bottle+ of wine, and bring our own lunch, and make a little picnic. Sit and relax in the front garden. Enjoy our company and everyone else visiting the winery. Atmosphere - Family friendly, well also adult friendly. And lastly, dog friendly. Enjoy a few glasses of wine while you walk the gardens, sculptures, etc. Art and history are also available, see pictures. Play bocce ball, ping pong, etc. Walking trails. Gazebo available with reservations, see website. Live band today. They also will be closing part of the winery at 3pm for a wedding today. I have been here during peak seasons, where all the tasting bars are full. I mean all indoors, outdoors, temporary set ups, etc. Hence the change to bottle service. They also have a very small selection of snacks, cheeses, etc. Noticed a food truck, is this new...? See picture. Clean bathrooms. Open 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm. Plenty of parking. Even some EV stations. Events - See picture or website. Service - Reservations suggested for tastings. But with our new system of buying bottles of wine and enjoying in the gardens, no reservations are needed. They also have a wine club, I am actually surprised I am not a member. Well, we have been coming less and less as there are less needs to come here now. Hopefully we will make this an annual visit starting this year. :) Price - $42 a bottle + generous tip. When it comes to museums and sculptures, I don't really appreciate them because I'm uncultured swine. I mostly go for the dinosaur bones. But this place was absolutely beautiful. Plus, it has some pretty good wine I mostly tried their white wines. I had my tasting in the barrel room with my dog. So the place is dog friendly. I even kept asking if they were sure it was ok because sometimes my dog can cry and be very vocal if I'm not giving her my full attention lol. But they absolutely insisted that she was welcome and they love all the dogs that come in. The man pouring my tasting was really knowledgeable and easy to talk to It's also reasonably priced here. Try to come on a weekday , they get packed during the weekend. But they do take reservations They also have a little shop with different art pieces, stuff like hand cream and different nuts / spreads / crackers I ended up getting one of the wines I tasted. I thought their muscat was delicious. Their wines are spectacular! Checking out the property for its art is a trip in itself, so much to look at and experience. The staff is so fun and knowledgeable and really know their wines. They have the unique ability to turn you on to a new style of wine that takes your tastebuds for a real ride. The tasting room is beautiful, dark wood through out. Sculptera is a fun place. The artwork is prominently displayed in a sculpture garden! We found they have live music on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. We are typically here during the week. Even though it was busy and we didn't have a reservation ( we were picking up a shipment) they made room for is to have a tasting while awaiting our order to be pulled. Mike was our pourer today. He has a wealth of knowledge about the history of the property and surrounding areas. We typically see Kathleen when we come up. When she saw us, she came right over for hugs! We didn't have any food, but there were dood trucks available. We really enjoy the wines. A few favorites are Viogne, Pinot Noir, Cab Franc and Petit Sirah. Enjoy! read more

They still charged us the $25 tasting fee. Shouldn't that one tasting fee been waived with the two bottle purchase?? We didn't really get a free tasting. I didn't notice the receipt until we left. We had an outdoor tasting at Sculpterra, and we loved getting to take in the views of the sculptures. We enjoyed all the wines we tried and ended up purchasing a few. The person facilitating our tasting wasn't the chattiest, but that's okay. When we asked for info on the property, we were just given the visitor guide to read LOL. But we were encouraged to visit the walking trail which was so nice, and I'm sure would be even nicer on a warm day. We'll be back! read more
