Efficient brunch that doesn't break the bank! You order with the cashier, take a number, and are served rather quickly. The menu isn't super extensive but has all the classics: eggs, pancakes, hash browns, sausage...so we got it all of course! The eggs were a perfect soft scramble and the pancakes were the star of the show. I wasn't expecting much since I've never tried an oatmeal griddle pancake before but I loved the slightly charred components mixed with the already sweet batter. Stopped for brunch at Salts cure as I've been meaning to try their pancakes and it's close by. Finally, I'm happy to report that they were very good. Soft, delicate and piping hot. I went for the maple variant. I also ordered the hash brown and while it was good, I probably wouldn't get it again. The environment was pleasant and service was attentive. I ended up trying the pink lady apple griddle cakes with a side of scrambled eggs, but got to try the chocolate chip, OG, and banana walnut as well. Glad they now have a location in Brooklyn! I've been wanting to go to their WV location, but just never made it out They're known for their oatmeal griddle cake, which I had no idea what to expect. Since it was our first time, they recommended getting the OG, which was a great choice! The pancakes are a little crisp on the edges, slightly sweet, and not dry/cakey but is a little more on the wet side in the center (but not in a bad way). Since they're already sweet, you don't need any extra syrup. We also got a side of eggs for protein and the sausage egg & cheese sandwich. Finally made it back here and still love it just as much as before, if not more! We arrived just after 9am on a Sunday and were seated immediately. In the past, I've always had to wait a while because of how popular this place is, so I was very pleased to not have to wait! A long line formed shortly after we were seated, meaning we got there at the perfect time. You have to order your food at the register/counter before sitting down, and everyone in my 5-person group ordered the OG pancakes, as well as a few coffees. We were served within 5-8 minutes of ordering. Everything was absolutely delicious! The pancakes are so tasty and fluffy, and I love the little butters they put on top. These are truly the tastiest pancakes I've ever had! I also love how there are vegan, gluten free, and dairy free options on the menu. For instance, you can make any of the pancakes gluten free for an extra $2. The employees are also very friendly! There is typically only 1 person working the register and seating people, 2-3 people in the open kitchen making the pancakes/other food, and 2-3 people bussing the tables. A really yummy and solid spot for breakfast foods, particularly for their special oatmeal pancakes! It's a small menu, which always alleviates my decision anxiety and the prices are decent. I initially thought oatmeal pancakes meant they were regular pancakes with some oats, but it is more similar to fully cooked oatmeal! The edges and exterior of the pancake is thin and almost crunchy, but these middle is much thicker and filled with gooey oatmeal. The pancakes are quite filling, though they also taste a bit homogenous throughout so it's helpful to order some other sides to balance out the flavors. I really enjoyed my OG pancakes, though it may not be for everyone. The hash brown was okay but not that special (besides in presentation). I did enjoy and highly recommend the pork sausage! There's always a big ol line around brunch time on the weekend, and it's a pretty compact space. As a group of 5, we waited maybe an hour before we were seated, so beware! Came with a friend on a Sunday morning. Got there around 9:30 am and the line was about a 30 minute wait. You order at the counter and then you sit down. We got the oatmeal griddle pancakes original, and added one pink lady one. We also tried the sausage and the hash browns. Definitely very yummy, but preferred the pink lady one. The pancakes themselves are not too sweet, but do have sweetness in them so you don't need syrup. The hash brown was very well done, but do wish the portions were bigger. The sausage was also well done. The inside is a cute space, with lots of little tables lined up to sit. Was surprised to find out that there's a Salt's Cure in Carroll Gardens! I got there before 9am on a rainy Sunday morning and there were plenty of open tables. One thing to note is that they don't have combo plates like the West Village location so if you want to do a sweet and savory breakfast you will need to order quite a few things à la carte. I was alone so I limited myself to one order of the OG pancakes and the chicken sausage. The pancakes lived up to the hype, I've never had oat meal pancakes like those before. They don't have syrup here, just the dollops of cinnamon flavored butter on top, I just wish there was more. The pancakes themselves look crispier than they are, but I still found the oat added a nice texture. The chicken sausage was pretty excellent, way better than store bought, and was served nice and crispy. Next time I want to come back with another person so we can try more savory items like eggs and the hashbrowns as well as a different flavor of pancake. The menu itself is pretty limited and the star of the show are their griddle cakes. We ordered the OG griddles cakes, a side of scrambled eggs, a side of hash browns, and the sausage egg and cheese sandwich with garbanzo sausage. The griddle cakes themselves rely too heavily on the butter. Really great crispy edges but definitely got mushy at the end. The scrambled eggs are cooked well but needed a touch more seasoning. The sandwich was good as well and it's always nice seeing a veggie option for sausage. I was really excited about the presentation for the hash brown but it was easily my least favorite. The edges are great but the hash brown inside was really soggy and needed so much more salt. The system seems to work really well. Since then, this location has been discovered, and there are lines out the door every weekend...for good reason, because the pancakes are insanely good. I've been here multiple times (as well as the West Village location); it's a staple in my rotation now. The pancakes are soft on the inside and just the right amount of crispy on the edges.
