I walked to this restaurant from my girlfriends house and it was well worth the walk. We had the breakfast burrito with sausage and she had the bacon one. I must say this burrito was huge and delicious. It comes with a side of salsa and sour cream. The salsa was perfect for the burrito and the sour cream was decent. The breakfast burrito (ham) was very dry. Potatoes were especially dry, but also the ham. I have a stomach ache now :( A friend has the gyro and said that was good but everyone else in my group of 5 agreed the food was dry and the French fries were flavorless and very greasy. As others have said, the salsa was pretty bomb, but sadly just about the only thing that was. The service was ok; the server/guy who came around picking up plates was very nice, but the Greek owner and son (?) didn't even smile or look happy. This is a order/pay at the front, then go sit down with a number place. Prices were ok, but definitely not worth it. Def won't be back. read more

Overall experience was good. Place is clean, people friendly, and a large inside and outside eating area. Menu has a large selection of breakfast and lunch items which can be eaten for dinner as well; breakfast is served all day. Variety of omelettes, hamburgers, soups, salads, sides, and milkshakes..... Had a breakfast burrito it was well-prepared with a nice warm tortilla with plenty of eggs, ham and cheese inside; I omitted the potatoes since I'm not a potato eater. In the future I'll try their homemade potato, it was explained to me by the owner the potatoes are peeled, seasoned, and cooked to order. The owner is an extremely nice man which made this place more enjoyable. read more

Decided to have breakfast here, Walked in with a friend and right when we walked in a husky Hispanic guy that was behind the counter jumped in front of the register and just stared us down as we were looking over the menu didn't say hi, hello or even good morning. Kinda bad customer service right off the back. But I mean the fact he didn't say hi didn't bother me. It's when I'm sitting down waiting for my food he's standing behind the counter on his phone stuffing his face with a banana as my food is sitting there on the counter. He waits for the other worker (who's actually walking around doing his job) to walk over grab our plates and bring them to our table. Thank you to him he was nice and friendly (smaller thin Hispanic guy) I'm describing them in hopes that if the owners read this they know who I'm talking about. read more

First time trying this place out and the reviews are misinformed! I ordered a breakfast burrito w/bacon and received a potato burrito w/ two bacon bits and the egg almost totally absent. What kind of breakfast burrito has no egg? A very profitable one. A $7 burrito? Are they joking? It doesn't stop there though: my last bite included the added value of egg shells-- Yay! Maybe this was intended as a crunchy filler for the missing bacon? And the owner didnt even offer an.apology for the shells but instead blamed the cook. Ha! Way to run a business! Given its location, the locals DON'T know good food. Dont waste your time, your money is better spent going a half a mile down the road to JINKY's cafe for quality breakfast. I'd give less than 1 star if I could, but Im limited to 1 full star. Looks like Breakfast Cafe gets an unearned windfall yet again. read more

A great locals breakfast place. The Huevos Rancheros is good, the potatoes are great and the Mickey Mouse Pancake for my son was awesome.

My friend and I searched for a breakfast place on yelp and this popped up. We were so pleasantly surprised and will be back again forsure. For as long as I can remember, Breakfast Café has been an Oak Park favorite. Whenever I go home to California it's at the top of my list of foods I have to get before I go back to Colorado (which is saying a lot because I'm a sucker for In n Out). As you can probably tell from their name, Breakfast Café serves a variety of breakfast foods, but just in case you wake up too late, they got lunch covered as well. It is your typical American food ranging from waffles and omelets to burgers and sandwiches. It sits in the shopping center off Lindero Rd. across from CVS and Starbucks. As you approach the restaurant you notice the nice outdoor seating (which typically contains some adorable dogs basking in the sun) and the aroma of bacon wafting out the doors. Typically, there is a line out the double doors, but what good restaurant doesn't have a line? Plus, it comes in handy to give you time to look over their extensive menu written above the resisters. The wait is never too long and soon enough you're greeted at the register by a smiling face. Majority of the time you're welcomed by the adorable and sweet owner, but if not, the rest of the staff is just as kind. After you order, you're given a table number and you can head to a table of your choice. Inside are many tables scattered around the large dining area. Up on the walls are a few TVs, along with gorgeous photography and pictures of dream travel destinations. My preferred seating is outdoors. After living in Colorado for two years I try and soak up as much California sun as possible (also it's where the dogs are). After a reasonable amount of time, the food is brought out looking as delicious as always by another sweet smiling face who makes sure you have everything you need. My favorite item to order is by far the waffles. They have a hint of cinnamon and the fluffy, cloud like consistency that every waffle wishes it had. A close second would be the omelets splashed with some of their red salsa that give the dish just the kick it needs. I have been coming to eat here for as long as I can remember, and it has never failed me. I've spent numerous Mother's and Father's Day brunches sitting in the comfort of this restaurant and I can't wait to one day bring my kids. There really aren't any other breakfast places in the area, and the ones that exist, don't even compare. It's rare that you find a family owned, reasonably priced, delicious restaurant, but Breakfast Café hits it all. If you're ever in the small town of Oak Park California I highly recommend that everyone take a trip to Breakfast Café because I guarantee it won't disappoint. My friends and I would regularly attend during our high school days to grab a quick bite that we could trust would to delicious and not break our small teenage wallets. This place never gets old and I hope it's around for years to come. It adds something special to our small town of Oak Park that doesn't have much else to offer, but hey at least we have waffles right? read more

Except for the fresh orange juice, we did not like anything we ordered! Chocochips pakcakes, waffles with blue berries and choco chips, pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream, eggs with wheat bread toast! They were very salty and no taste by itself! Even the after taste was not good. Not worth driving from Newbury Park and Simi Valley! Not to forget that it is very expensive! I do not understand the good reviews. The atmosphere is depressingly cafeteria, the service rude and the food dreadful. When ordering I could not get the man at the register to make eye contact and with any question he seemed to be less than interested. Our Huevos Rancheros were dreadful with soppy potatoes and I don't know what that meat was. The salsa offered with it was a clear pink tinged liquid without flavor - yuck! Coffee is from a dispenser...there are much better options for the same price. read more
