The Breakfast Club is definitely a Saturday breakfast hot spot! They are located on the corner of John R Rd & E. La Salle Ave. There was a revolving door of delivery pickups by Door Dashers, Uber Eats, etc. There is a long bench across from the kitchen for waiting for orders or to be seated for dining in. Note: Your entire party must be present before being seated. The restaurant is small, however, was filled to capacity. The service was excellent! A seasoned black male employee (I'm sorry I can't remember his name) was so helpful and charming in sharing some of the history of the restaurant with us. He made sure we saw their framed 2024 Award Winner Finalist for Best Breakfast by Click on Detroit - Channel 4. I had the jumbo cinnamon roll, french toast and fresh fruit. My dear girlfriend had the lobster benedict with the potatoes, tomato slices and cornbread. It was a great breakfast option because she doesn't eat meat. We both left here so full. Seafood bowl and Veggie Omelet. Delivered. Star of the show was the seafood bowl. Real seafood with crab. With egg and potatoes on the bottom. I loved the sauce too - it paired well with the seafood. This was a good protein-rich dish. Veggie omelet was nothing special but not bad. Variety of veggie included as well as cheese melted on top. Over a layer of hash browns. This place is a gem. The people here are so nice and the food is good too. I specials were unique and looked really good. I settled on the breakfast enchiladas. These were very tasty. They had enough sauce that didn't leave you needing more every bite was flavorful. The only thing I didn't like was the avocado wasn't ripe, it was hard. At that point I would leave it off but that is me. I would gladly go back to this establishment. The parking lot is small but so is the restaurant. read more

I have not been here in many years, primarily because there is always a long line. Driving by I noticed the parking lot had lots of space, so stopped in. It is not the same. The sense I get is that's it is under different ownership. Don't get me wrong, its still a good breakfast, but not a fantastic breakfast like it once was. Service is fast and friendly. Gone here on & off for many many years. It had been awhile, so we popped in for brunch one weekday. Service is always great, very friendly. Cute bright space, not fancy, but comfortable. We both got a Bennie, his was classic, mine was smoked salmon. Their side they give you is called tomato panzanella--I pictured bright fresh tomatoes, bread chunks. Nope--it's in a square, kind of soggy, cheese melted over the top like a chunky pizza slice, with tomatoes. Did not care for it at all. His Bennie was very good. I guess I misunderstood the salmon, picturing more lox style, cold. It was chunks of hot cooked salmon & so salty I could barely eat it, and I love salmon, any way it's fixed. Not enough capers either. Good hollandaise. The salty salmon & the awful side were disappointing. I can't remember what they used to use years ago as a side, but I know I enjoyed that. We'll go back sometime but will be VERY careful what we order & see if the side could be different. They definitely deserve another try. read more

I've been to multiple BC locations, but today was the first time here. I won't go back. This location is small, cramped and just plain not clean. The owner of this location needs to hire a professional cleaning company to clean this place floor to ceiling. You know that sticky feeling walls and doors and door handles get? Yeah. The menu is in line with all the other locations, but my friend got the tomato panzanella and she said it was not at all the same. And maybe they all do this (?), but the Newberg sauce is the lobster bisque soup. Just say it's lobster bisque. read more

This is a place is a health hazard and I would call the health inspector if I had his number. A few days ago I picked up a door dash order for 2 customers and this place is disgusting: it looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned in years and the smell of rancid grease and some kind of roach spray was strong. I told both customers to throw the food away and order something else because it smelled so gross in the car. I wouldn't even go to the bathroom in this place. read more

Was in the area and looking for a good breakfast place and came across the Breakfast Club. It looks like it used to be a house back in the day and was converted to a restaurant. There is outdoor seating as well as indoor. They keep the doors open from outside to inside, which causes flies to roam around freely inside the restaurant (major pet peeve). However, we were promptly seated at a booth and asked what some popular items were and ordered accordingly. We ordered the West omelet, Tex Mex bowl and Creme Brûlée French toast (added strawberries and bananas). The omelet was okay, not a lot of flavor to be honest and I've had better. The tex mex bowl was slightly better, but still lacking flavor - especially since there is chorizo in there and you couldn't really taste it. However, the creme brûlée French toast was great. It was a fluffy piece, bursting with flavor and not overly eggy like some French toast can be. When you receive your check, you're given complimentary chocolate covered strawberries with your bill - which is a nice personal touch. Overall, the Breakfast club was okay. If I were to come back, it would be for the French toast, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. read more

Now that dining's back open again, I'm excited to explore new places I haven't been too yet. This was one of them. I know I've heard of it before, but never bothered to try it. The date and I came here for breakfast, and we're both glad we did. Walking in, the place is small and intimate. Nothing glamourous, but cute, quaint and almost home feeling. Kind of a throwback, almost. The menu wasn't huge, but they had an amazing selection of breakfast foods, with a few random lunch items on the back for good measure. The date and I scoured the menu and our waitress was super helpful. We both were torn on what to get since there were so many options to choose from. She recommended dishes for both of us, and they came out fabulous. Both of us were not only able to finish our meal, but were full afterwards and really loved the food. The seating here is intimate, so don't show with a large party. Why? There's no where to seat you. Mostly two tops and four seater tables here. But hey, that's part of the charm! Overall, our waitress and staff here was fabulous. They really knew their stuff and made the experience all that much better. It's not cheap to eat here, on average about $10 a person easy. We don't mind though because it's well worth the prices. Thank you Breakfast Club, we will be returning. You rock! read more

My daughter and her friends went on my daughters Birthday. The waitress was very rude to them. And questioned them about the amount of tip they left. Who does that? They are all in college and working part time trying to make ends meet. They left what they could afford. SO, my husband and I have been jonesing for the BC experience we had last fall- and stopped into the Troy location last weekend and were shocked at how different the food was (not as good, standard breakfast fare but the service was excellent!!) So today we made a point of coming back to Madison Heights to get the Irish Morn omelet. I really wish I had pictures of both to show the difference. That said, we were really disappointed by the lack of system and care for seating customers, which exacerbate what you know will be a necessary wait if you want to eat here. Even though my husband asked how long it would be to get a table outside, the gentleman never asked for his name, so we waited in line only to have someone who came after us seated when we had been waiting for 15 minutes. Then a woman who claimed to be the manager informed us that we should have found her to be seated, and she added our name to the list. Then we were almost passed over again to be seated outside. Thankfully, the food did not disappoint. My husband loved the flavor profile of the shrimp & grits despite the shrimp being way overcooked and the grits being two cakes of polenta. My Irish Morn corned beef hash was delish...but arrived without the toast, which I finally went in to retrieve.. when we were done we waited and waited for the server (the same woman who claimed to be the manager) come back so we could pay and go. They didn't appear to be short staffed, but definitely needed to set up some better systems for turning over tables. Pretty frustrating experience. read more

One of my generous coworkers recommended my girls and I come here for our monthly brunch, and so we did. We came Sunday around 1100. Unfortunately the entire party has to be present in order to be seated, so we didn't get seated until about 1140. As expected, it was packed with customers so there was a little bit of a wait. Once seated, we looked over the menu trying to decide what to get and what to share. We decide on many different dishes: caramel nut pancakes, strawberry French toast, banana French toast, seafood bowl, Kelly's bowl, Farmer's omelet, and meat lovers bowl. Not the same restaurant at all!! Don't bother. I've been going to this location since 2006. Many years of excellent consistency. Fast forward to breakfast today. Food was just ok. No refills on water. Restaurant is very dirty and cluttered bad. Stuff all over the counters. The rooster decor stripped away and you can see them thrown upstairs from the window. Fake flower replaced fresh. Dust caked every single ceiling vent. Extremely dirty floors. The booth edging is worn off and looks awful. Not the same restaurant at all!!! If the dining room is that dirty, how dirty is the kitchen? All the upside down drinking glasses, sitting in tables were spotty/dirty-ish. We were not given an option to sit outside on a nice day. Canopy has been draped with crappy, plastic flowers - looks so bad. Landscaping very overgrown and looks awful. Full of weeds! A pot of plastic yucky flowers right outside the door. Light bulbs burned out throughout the restaurant. Old paper sign taped to the bathroom door looks like it has been there a long time. This restaurant was straight up ruined. The potatoes in the famous bowl were mushy; not served in a deep bowl anymore. I could keep going.... Just close it and go away. read more

Every single time we've been here the food is excellent, service great, very fast and friendly. Well worth the wait if there's a line! We've tried at least half the menu at this point and there's really something for everyone. Best breakfast and brunch hands down. Wow! Found this place in Detroit after long flight and a long night. It was a lil ways from the airport but I was looking for something good to eat. They had this world renowned stuff french toast that caught my eye. It was Incredible! I also had the special huevos rancheros pretty tasty too!
