Country Boy Restaurant has some charming qualities, but there are a few things to be aware of. The building is very old, and while they do have a wheelchair-accessible parking spot, the lack of a wheelchair-accessible bathroom was a big drawback. This could make it difficult for some guests to fully enjoy their visit. On the positive side, the waitress was incredibly kind and attentive, which made the experience much better. The food was pretty good--classic comfort dishes done well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If accessibility isn't a concern, it's a cozy spot for a meal, but I hope they consider updating their facilities to be more accommodating for all guests.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Pretty disappointed with my meal today. The fries were extremely soggy, and just judging by the ranch cup, you can guess why. They were microwaved in a styrofoam container with the ranch cups still in them. I wanted fries, not cancer.

Good food at reasonable prices. Especially in this day and age. The staff were very friendly and we cracked jokes with them.

$16.88 for a soggy bun double bacon cheese burger fries and a coke... I couldn't eat it. It was a bad deal. I won't be back.

Ambiance: Nice. Casual with a tiniest bit of upscale. Nice buildout. Service: very friendly. Had the feel of a neighborhood place with better trained serves. Food: Very good! Menu has a very wide selection, but not too many items to make your head spin. Everything was properly cooked. They have an interesting lunch and dinner menu too. I will definitely be back, parking permitted.

They have a bunch of cute outdoor seating, so we asked to sit out there. Rachel was our server and she was great - very friendly and attentive! I ordered the Avocado Scramble, but I made a couple of modifications. Unfortunately they forgot to address them, but Rachel took care of that right away and the dish was very good. My wife had the Eggs Benedict, her favorite breakfast dish. She said it was very good and she particularly liked the potatoes that came with it. One final note (and this was not reflected in my rating): the seating in the outdoor section is pretty tight and a couple with a large dog was seated next to us. I'm not a big fan of people bringing dogs to restaurants, but if they are well behaved, I can deal with it. Unfortunately, at one point this dog got excited by a dog coming by on the sidewalk and jumped up and started barking at the others dog, just inches away from me. It was quite startling and its owner was not particularly apologetic. With such a confined space, I think this establishment may want to reconsider whether it allows dogs in their outdoor seating area.

I finally got to try Toast in Ferndale for brunch!…read more The parking situation is a small lot behind the back and finding a spot on a weekend morning wasn't easy! We didn't have reservations so we did have to wait a while for a table. But, Toast made it manageable with an outdoor waiting area where you can order drinks from the bar. By the way, the outdoor area is not fully insulated, just sectioned off with clear tarp, so it can still feel a little chilly. However, it was nice having somewhere sit and mingle instead of just standing around by the door. Now to the good part: My table ordered the trashy hashy, toast egg sammy, and a muddled strawberry vanilla iced matcha. I started off with the iced matcha and ended with the egg sammy with a side of parmesan grits. The matcha was a little watery but good. The sandwich was super flavorful but very messy. I had to ask for extra napkins after but the mess was totally worth the flavor! I can't wait to come back! I'll be prepared with reservations next time!

She responded that she already had, but I pointed out that there were still crumbs there. She seemed irritated, so I even offered to wipe it myself if she gave me the towel. She then asked me to show her where the crumbs were and wiped them off. Unfortunately, her attitude throughout the interaction was very rude and unprofessional. My sister then asked to speak with a manager. When the manager came over, the other ladies in our group also mentioned the waitress's attitude. Instead of addressing our concerns professionally, the general manager became defensive and stated that the waitress did not have a nasty attitude. He then told us that if we wanted to leave, we could leave because he was not going to be bothered with us. He took our menus and asked us to leave simply because we requested that the table be cleaned properly. I would love to see better service and customers treated with respect! Ms Cheryl W.

Each dish had so many layers of flavor and ingredients, and the staff took the time to explain every course, which made the experience even better. What a terrific experience. Oysters. Radish salad. Wild boar kebabs. Lamb ravioli. Quail. Cabbage. One course after another had us looking at each other and saying, "I want to lick the plate." Our serving team was led by Rachel, who was outstanding. Everyone who brought a dish to the table was knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely excited about the food. Even in a packed restaurant, they made us feel like we were the most important guests in the room. The décor is fascinating--eclectic, quirky, and full of personality. Nothing seems to match, yet somehow everything works perfectly together. The drinks were spectacular. They even had my favorite beer, Miller Genuine Draft (yes, I'm old school). And the bartender is a Knicks fan, which certainly didn't hurt. One final tip: visit the website and watch the video about the history of Mabel Gray before you go. It's a wonderful story and makes the experience even more meaningful. We'll be talking about this meal for a long time. Highly recommended.

The sandwich was absolutely incredible--hands down the best crispy chicken club I've ever had. The chicken was perfectly crispy, and the combination of flavors was outstanding.
