We stopped here for breakfast on the way to the Royal Oak area and I saw that it had good reviews so I thought it would be worth a shot. It's not very large inside, but we were able to get seated immediately and it was a Friday morning. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful and I ended up getting the healthy omelette and it came with vegetables, egg whites, chicken, and potatoes on the side that were very tasty. I asked for dry rye, but they put butter on my rye toast, which I didn't eat anyways. My friend got a western omelette and he liked his omelette and the potatoes very much. The portions are very large and we were able to take almost half of our food home for leftovers.

    Mediterranean skillet

This was my first time at the Clawson location after previously visiting the Canton one, so I was excited to try! I ordered the Mediterranean skillet, lemon pancakes, and a side of biscuits and gravy. Yes, this was a heavy breakfast! The Mediterranean skillet had plenty of feta, which I LOVED but it was dry overall. There was no sauce to really bring everything together. I even got eggs over medium and the egg yolk did not add much creaminess. It was good, just not my favorite thing I've eaten. The lemon pancakes were absolutely unreal. Sooo fluffy and the cream cheese frosting was incredible. I would 100% recommend them. I also tried a side of biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was very thick, which was not my favorite, but the gravy itself was amazing, but it's the white super peppery kind, which I know is not everybody's favorite! Again, just kind of dry, even with the gravy. The service was good, and for a Saturday around 11 AM, the 20 minute wait was totally reasonable. I would definitely come back, just probably not for the skillet next time.

Breakfast on a Saturday, wait was about 10 min which wasn't too bad. We ordered the classic breakfast with a biscuit and the lemon pancakes. I wasn't a huge fan of the biscuit and the bacon was VERY well done. The lemon pancakes were regular pancakes with a lemon drizzle and blueberries on top. They were okay but nothing I would come back for. Just a regular place for decent food but I'll try something different next time.

    Blueberry cheesecake French toast though

Finally made it to this place, I had been driving through it and was always trying to see what the food will be like here as such. We ordered breakfast quesadillas, blueberries cheesecake French toast and also lox Benedict. All the orders were well made and service was good too. French toast though was delicious but it didn't feel like bread or toast anywhere but more like a piece of dough lump. I do however have to go back here again sometime to try their tiramisu pancakes Considering that there is a waiting here before 10am told us how famous this place can be on a weekend. Note to self, if ever wanting to go back here, it has to be before 9.30am because queue can grow large fairly quickly here.

I love biscuits and I especially love a buttermilk biscuit. I did not love the biscuits at Biscuits & Gravy. The service was okay. The floors needed to be swept. I was overall not impressed.

Service was good. Food was not. We tried the biscuits and gravy and it was bland with not much flavor. Tasted like maybe it was from Sysco.

We've been driving by this gigantic chicken for decades, but never found any of the previous restaurants compelling enough to cause us to visit, until now. I had heard good things, and driven by on a few weekends where I saw the line out the door, so I knew we had to check it out. I love breakfast and there is a huge menu of items to choose from. We both opted for benedicts, but I strategically requested that my lox benedict be made on a biscuit, which was a brilliant choice, if I do say so myself! Great food...great service...I look forward to returning and sampling more of the menu!

Quaint small restaurant. We came for lunch on weekday and was super busy but perfectly timed to grab a table immediately. When we left, place had started to clear out. Fast service. Biscuit was good but dry without the gravy! The fried chicken biscuit all together with side of gravy (had to pay extra) was delicious . Chicken perfectly seasoned and nice and crisp!

This is the spot no doubt. The skillets are phenomenal but the omelettes are the absolute top of the top. Red velvet pancake was just above average. Typically RV cakes are super cakey/decadent which is great but these were proper pancakey while maintaining their red velvety-ness which was an interesting and nice change of pace. Loved the biscuit which can make for a nice sandwich DIY or just off the menu. Grits were also superb. Overall 9.7/10

Do you think that's extra bacon??
    Kimberley M.

It's kinda pricey, the foods good. The breakfast tacos are good. Also the hostess likes to seat her friends before the people that where in line. I ask and paid for extra bacon I don't think I got it. Our waitress never came back and ask how was our food. Needs better customer service.!!!!

A skillet egg dish and the biscuit and gravy served in iconic skillets!

Just went this past Saturday morning and walked in at 10am and was served and out before 10:45am! Don't get me wrong the place was packed but their services is quick which is amazing based on the amount of brunch options they have! Actually a good house coffee and your food comes out quick. A true modern diner feel and sort of a casual spot. Again, lots of menu variety and their food was really good. Got the biscuit and gravy which was delicious and light with a savory sausage gravy as well. Good for smaller groups as they only have tables of 2 and 4.

Nasty stains on the concrete at each door
    Pardo P.

I'll start with the good: Spanish skillet was good and the waitress was quick. Off street parking. The not so great: I knew when I parked, the owners and staff did not care about cleanliness. The back yard of the restaurant had garbage strewn about including a dirty mop head. The newer concrete sidewalks were stained black at each of the doors, indicating the floors inside must be nasty. I used one of the restrooms which had a dirty floor, it was early morning so definitely not from this day. The biscuit was flavorless and dense, very underwhelming for a restaurant named Biscuits and Gravy. The Gravy seemed like sausage added to a mix. Overall impression, not clean.

14 tables in their dining area. Put your name in at the hostess and checkout counter. Nowhere to stand in this small and narrow entryway. The bathroom is oddly placed right by the front doors as well. Ordered a healthy choice omelet side of biscuit and grits, avocado scramble with added turkey bacon with a side of biscuit and an oatmeal deluxe. $45.58 The biscuit is light and fluffy and crumbly, it's good with honey. The avocado scramble is quite good without cholula, even better with the cholula. Would like their peppers cut up some, fajita sized in this dish. The grits side is quite yummy, smooth for grits. The healthy choice omelet is tasty. The oatmeal is good. Added the side of fruit to the oatmeal, minus the grapes. Service isn't bad, took a bit to get our oatmeal and bill though.

The people working here were so friendly and personable with literally everyone that walked in the door. The service was top notch. It is also the most adorable place giving vibes of Lamy's food counter at Henry Ford Museum. I loved all of the options on the menu and it was so hard just picking a couple items to try. We had chicken tacos. They were so good and so fresh, I loved the sauce on top. Honestly, I am not sure if it was cheese or a sour cream type mixture, but it was creamy and flavorful. I also had the torta which was absolutely incredible. It had the same chicken as the taco. The chicken was slow cooked or stewed and shredded and was so flavorful, like a homecooked chef's kiss. The bread was fresh. I loved the sauce poured over it, making it a dipped and soaked sandwich. The carrots and cilantro, sliced radishes and sliced fresh jalapenos added a level of crunch, freshness and deeper flavor profile. I would want to get this every time. We also tried their delicious "curly" fries, which were like julienned shoestring fries fired fresh. It seemed like every dish was made fresh and right in front of you. So worth it, plus the prices are great. I would love to try their fried chicken plate, their breakfast sandwiches, and their other desserts. We talked to the man behind the counter who seemed like maybe a manager. He gave us their famous chocolate chip cookie to try. It was fresh baked and delicious. I would love to take home more of those. It looked so simple but was better than many bakeries specializing in cookies alone. He also gave us an second order of fries to take home with my leftovers, just top notch kindness and service. This man told us that OWL owns other restaurants and we would probably like them. I am open to trying more of their group but I do want to return here. This is one of those diners you would find being profiled for best kept secret or gourmet home cooked foods under the guise of fast food.
