Corn cake and red pepper sauce, intelligentsia coffee (and the French omelette with a pancake in the back)
    Kate S.

I came here to meet friends who live all over the place (north and south suburbs, Lakeview, etc.), as this location is centrally located for all of us. I wasn't familiar with the neighborhood (I didn't know Belmont Heights was a place!), but it was easy enough to get to from the northern suburbs. The lot was full, but I was able to find parking easily about a block away on a side street on a Saturday morning, and several of my friends found parking on Harlem. Yay for free and easy parking. We were able to get a table for 4 adults and 2 kids easily, and the servers were attentive. I wasn't starving, as I had had breakfast already since we were meeting later in the day, but I had coffee (Intelligentsia) and the corn cakes. The coffee was refilled a few times, which was much appreciated :) The corn cake and the red pepper sauce were incredible. (Note for vegans: there is cheese in the corn cakes, but no meat. Not sure about eggs). They have a few vegan-friendly items on the menu as well for those who are strict vegans, but I wasn't in the mood for a huge plate. They have even more vegetarian-friendly items, too. My meat-eating friends loved their dishes (pancakes, potatoes, eggs, chicken salad, etc.). Everything looked great. They do add a credit card processing fee if you're not paying with cash, as an FYI, but that is mentioned on the menu so it shouldn't come as a surprise.

A tiny little restaurant spot in the middle of Chicago on a busy street. Luckily, there is a parking lot next to the restaurant. Clean and organized place with waiters using tablets and payment processing on mobile devices. Food is good enough for some quick breakfast. A mix bunch of customers with people wearing visible tattoos, older couples, young families, and more. Rather surprised that the tip requested on the electronic device force you to pick a tip of 0%, 20%, 25%. I am not sure if I would visit this place again.

This was my first visit to Breakfast House, and I really enjoyed it! The omelet was incredibly fresh, and the French toast is definitely something I'll be coming back for. I loved the unique twist of Mexican-inspired breakfast dishes--it's a refreshing change from typical breakfast fare. The flavors were outstanding, so I'd highly recommend giving Breakfast House a try!

We did breakfast here a few days ago on Xmas Eve I think. Very cozy and nice breakfast sit-down breakfast restaurant. The place was nice and clean inside and everything from the tables and floors in the main dining area to the bathrooms as well. Service was prompt and the waiter was very nice and cheery guy. Nice touches with the decorations and the chalk wall/mural with Christmas drawings of all of the employees and their jobs was really well done and quaint but also just something giving you that warm and fuzzy feeling and puts across that this is a Latina/o/x family-owned place. Food was brought out pretty quickly and I got the Supreme Chorizo Hash and my partner got Eggs Benedict. Food was very tasty. Prices not too bad. Nothing bad to say about the restaurant itself but a couple of drawbacks or things to be aware of is that the parking lot is small so you might have to park on the street and I personally would worry about parking on Harlem. Also their parking lot is shared with a neighboring car business of some kind with junky cars and trucks parked all around in their spots. Some things to improve. The owners should clean up the dead plants in the planters outside which are unsightly and maybe put up some Christmas decorations/lights in the planters during the winter or some other way to keep the planters looking nice when they aren't being used in the winter. Also, this is probably a much bigger lift but if the owners have the money to cover/shelter the outside areas around the restaurant and put heaters outside could take care of the planters unsightly issues and use the outside areas during the winter for more revenue/seats. All that said I highly recommend this restaurant as a nice breakfast/brunch fare and Latina/a/x influences and to support a family-owned local place.

The place has an amazing vibe and atmosphere. Flew in from San Francisco and was told I had to stop here. Glad I listened. The customer service is great and very friendly. I ordered the French Toast and it did not disappoint at all. Flavor in every bite. Really showing their saying if of "love is their seasoning" or "Amor es nuestro sazón." I would come back any time I'm back in the area.

Overall went to visit the location during the week and the establishment was not busy at all. We had the kids pancakes with an egg and bacon. I ordered the omelet with spinach, mushrooms, and it came with ham and hash-browns. There was no salt added to the plate, and the ham was basically deli sandwich ham. The hash-browns were not crispy like they were sitting for a while, and the server never came to check on the refill for the coffee. We were sitting there for a while and we had to ask for maple syrup to be able to eat the pancakes. Overall the food is just ok, and the service could be more better.

The food was delicious. I love when I go to a breakfast restaurant and they have vegan options. And the vegan chorizo dish was so good! The cute mural of the staff and the upbeat music adds to the restaurant's charm. The only critique is that the wait time was a little longer than I would have expected for what was ordered and the amount of diners there. But I'm definitely going back and trying out more items on the menu.

This was our first time to this location of the local chain. Being very close to home, I was hoping for the best and was not disappointed. Saturday morning brunch is a risky time to venture out for timely food but this place was clearly very efficient in their turnover. We were seated rather quickly. And the service was great even though they were very busy. The exterior leaves a bit to be desired but the inside makes up for that in spades. It's clean, well lain out for the size, and welcoming. The food was great! A chorizo hash can be very dense and greasy and I was afraid that was in my future. However, they did this dish perfectly. And the Latte was a great choice to go with it. My only complaint about this place is the displayed statement that the restaurant tacks on a 3% fee just because they feel like it. You can ask to have it removed? Very strange and not a great business practice. Otherwise great place!

Finally a new decent breakfast spot in Dunning! I love breakfast food so much. This place took over what used to be a seafood restaurant. Ambience: Definitely felt very homey inside which was comforting. Ever since this place opened I've noticed it's always busy whenever I drive by which is a good sign. They made a nice outdoor patio seating area where half is covered. They even have planters with flowers along the fence. Service: No complaints here! Everyone working was working hard. My waiter was kind and made sure we were ok. House hash: I love me a good hash!! Topped with poached eggs and you get a side of garlic aoli. Very very good. I just added a little bit of salt and pepper and it was perfect. The ingredients were all pretty even meaning no ingredient overpowered the other. Very filling dish but I always have room for dessert. Chef's french toast: French toast is elite. You can choose between nutella or dulce de leche which is what I chose. The french toast were nice thick pieces. The quality of the bread was very good. Perfect for sharing! Its pretty dry without syrup so I def recommend with syrup!

Great service. Perfect spot to have a bite in Lincoln Park. LP is a little short on offering great restaurants. So this one was a steal. Outdoor seating was nice and best of all the servers wore masks when serving food - an absolute must!

I think they may have removed the vegetables from the kebab with the undercooked chicken because they tasted funny. I only took a few bites and had the rest of it wrapped up. We started at the bar, where I tried a non-alcoholic Clausthaler (which reminded me a bit of Heineken), while a friend ordered the massive 32-ounce "big-as-your-head" Hacker-Pschorr Weissbier. Since the weather was perfect, we sat outdoors in the spacious biergarten, which easily accommodates groups of any size. We started with the Sausage Sampler ($18)--a trio of sausage served over sauerkraut (the kraut was so good on its own you definitely shouldn't skip it). For mains, my husband chose a favorite, the Stuffed Cabbage Rolls ($28), which did not disappoint. Our friends ordered the Beef Stroganoff ($28), Jäger Schnitzel ($29), and Rouladen ($30). I opted for the Bayerischer Schweinshaxe ($35)--a 3lb roasted pork shank that turned out to be the absolute best value on the table, as it was easily enough for four meals! For sides, the cucumber salad was refreshing and tangy, the spätzle (a German take on pasta) was perfectly tender, and the vegetable of the day (sautéed summer squash) was flavorful and satisfying. We ended the night by sharing a huge slice of German Chocolate Cake. To top it off, our two-person service team was fantastic--constantly keeping drinks refilled and clearing plates to keep everything running smoothly. Highly recommend!

The whole place is decorated very well and has a true feeling of Germany. Renee was our server and she was sweet, happy and incredibly attentive in a good way. She answered our questions and honestly we're very accurate. We started with a pretzel Ofcourse, it was fresh warm and we could have had two easily! I decided to try their sauerbraten, I will say, it's nearly not sour enough for me. It was on the sweeter end but I have a feeling they try to gear the meals towards more people Enjoying them, it wasn't for me however unfortunately The dessert was sadly another let down. My favorite cake is black Forrest and it was far from traditional. Overall. I will still give the restaurant a decent rating as I think many other people will truly enjoy the food here, but for someone who grew up in a German household, spent time in Germany and ate from the homeland quite a bit, it simply wasn't for me.

The sandwich was delicious, I would have liked the bread toasted to a crunchy element but was still a good sandwich. For an appetizer we had Samosa (similar to an empanada in concept) this was filled with peas and potatoes which were seasoned nicely and when accompanied with the turmeric sauce was awesome. The turmeric sauce added spice and a new level of flavor. We also tried the marsala fries, they were regular crinkle, cut fries, but with a special flavor of marsala; also very tasty. I also ordered garlic naan which was phenomenal; the goat was season well and very tender, it also came with Jeera which is a light rice that you can literally sprinkleon the curry instead of being clumpy like regular white rice. Using the naan as a vessel to eat, the dish, took it to a whole new level. Glenda tried the mango lassi, which is basically a shake made with mango, ice cream, and shaved almonds on top.
