Very good breakfast or brunch place. Lots of choices for you to enjoy. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lots of tasty adult beverages. Good coffee. The only drawback is it's pretty expensive for breakfast. They have delicious pancakes which helps get over the sticker shock. Not very busy which is surprising. There's a lot of space and is good for groups as well. I think they're pretty new so they will probably get popular sooner or later. It's on Belmont so a good choice for us to have breakfast before going to a Cubs game. read more

On a a Wednesday morning my partner and I decided in a spur of the moment to try out this place so near to where we live. We walked in to a brightly lit and beautifully decorated dining that immediately felt welcoming. The service was great as well. The food, however, was an experience all on its own. My partner ordered the Chorizo Hash, which exceeded all expectations of it being their star dish. I was perfectly savory and saucy, with crispy potatoes and all of the mouth feels you could hope for from a dish. I ordered the Dieguito's Benedict brunch special and it was honestly one of the best brunch meals I've eaten in Chicago. The chicken was fried to perfection, the poached eggs the perfect amount of runny. As with any stacked dish, it's always a challenge to get the perfect bite without it toppling over, but it was ok because each bite was an experience and there were so many flavors that came through with each one. The motif holding this dish together was the bacon jalapeño aioli, which created an amazing symphony of flavors. We will definitely be back and we are already regretting taking so long to give this place a try. read more

I've been to their other locations, but this is the first time I was at this one. It's the middle of the day on Wednesday, and it's basically empty. The food is excellent and the service was fantastic. I had the egg white frittata with a side of fruit. my only criticism, is that the sautéed veggies on the frittata were a bit salty, but I don't eat much salt in general so restaurant food often tastes salty to me. read more

A memorable Mother's Day, just not in a good way. We came for brunch on Mother's Day so I expected some delays. What happened was ridiculous. After waiting for tables to clear we were seated in an amazing outdoor table. It took a while for the waiter to come, when he did all drinks and meals were ordered to avoid long waits. Drinks were brought out two at a time, at 5-10 minute increments, so about half the table was always without a beverage for the duration of the meal. Food came out for 3/6 people about 20 minutes after sitting down. The waiter was then not seen for 30 minutes. I went in to speak to the manager because I'm not sure what else to do at this point, and said something along the lines of "We've been sitting there for 30 minutes with half the food, I need the food or the check in 5 minutes." After that, we were served. I worked in restaurants years ago, I worked BOH but have endless sympathy for all staff. I am a patient, low maintenance customer. This service was so bad it seems almost intentionally bad. It was not so busy that I can excuse this away, and I look for reasons to give a break. By the time I got my food my judgement could have been affected, but it was just OK. I had to douse the supreme chorizo hash in cholula for any real flavor. My son's breakfast burrito was "mid at best". My daughter did not like the cold chicken on her chicken Caesar salad. My wife and mother in law said the chilaquiles were good not great. My toddler had fruit and a pancake, but he likely was just in a bad mood as he was one of the three with the longest wait. The waiter brought out the check with a 20% gratuity with a sincere smile. The outdoor table on the sidewalk was nice. The inside had a basic but nice vibe to it. I can see it being a nice neighborhood vibe. The toilet seat in the men's room has a bolt so loose my toddler son almost fell in. There are lots of breakfast places in Chicago, I suggest you explore basically any, ANY, option than this place. read more

This business location has changed owners and names twice since it opened many years ago. My first choice for breakfast was closed on Wednesday, much to my chagrin. Anyway, as long as I was out, decided to try this place. The interior is nice and pleasant. Wait staff is polite and pleasant. But my breakfast meal, was a bit disappointing. I searched the whole menu and not mention of what type of coffee offered and price. I should have asked, Had a mental lapse. I ordered two eggs over easy with medium bacon, and I did stress medium and not hard. I opted for pancakes instead of toast. I was served a an old fashion mug full of coffee. Was very tasty, but they serve Intelligentsia. My order came and my bacon was hard and seemed reheated. Diced potatoes which I can work with but not my preferred choice. and only received one pancake. Most restaurants serve two. Now I know prices have become quite high ever since Covid. But the price in my opinion was a bit steep. My coffee charge was $3.50. Now, I was asked if I wanted regular coffee. and I opted for that, thinking price would be cheaper. Nope. Overpriced!!!!! coffee was terrible I ordered crepes and I got sour cream pancakes, when I asked the waiter if he had made a mistake with our order, he stated that they use the sour cream pancakes mix to make the crepes. I have been to this location several times, and other locations of breakfast house as well and the food and and service is always great. I love the corn cakes and all of the different scrambles they have to offer. Definitely worth checking out. I also wanted to add that the story of the family that started the restaurant is really inspirational and a testament to perseverance. read more
