    Brent's information

I have never had as much fun as I did today in this First Aid/CPR class run by Brent. The energy was amazing, and the time passed by so quickly, without realizing it. He uses music to help with compression speeds etc, which is awesome, and it hyped us up to just keep going. You never felt silly answering a question, his energy is off the wall amazing, he is all about feeling comfortable in the class whilst engaging with the activities needed for the certification, so it was a real easy class to finish up and certify the online part that you do at home first, before you arrive in class. He knows his stuff incredibly well, and I was sad when it ended! And to top it all, he does dog and cat cpr classes also! So all you animal lovers out there, a nice way to spend an hour or two and then pop into Casa Vega next door after for a well deserved margarita!

Brent is a fantastic instructor! I was really nervous to renew my CPR/first aid license because it's been many years. My mom and I came together and had such a good time! He explains everything in detail and makes the class very fun. It's nice that he doesn't make you feel dumb if you don't understand something on the first try, second try, or even the third try. The first thing I noticed upon walking in is that it was freezing in there (a positive given it's nearly 100° out today and you get a good workout during the class). It was also spotless in there, everything was laid out perfectly, and he's kind enough to offer drinks and snacks. I was excited to learn he also offers a dog and cat CPR class which we are definitely going to attend. I've already told quite a few people about it and hope they join me as well. Thanks for such an awesome class and being an amazing instructor. There is a reason why every single rating is five stars! We came to this class from Ventura County and plan to return here every two years when we need to renew our certification.

Brent was incredibly energetic and knowledgable. He knew when to get serious and focus on the facts, and when to be entertaining and engaging to keep the group's focus. My husband and I feel very ready to bring our new baby in the world -- now that we're armed with first aid and CPR training for adults, children, and infants. Definitely recommend BreathCamp!

I thought the location was nice. Brent was an outstanding Instructor. He was witty, knowledgeable, understanding, thorough and above all, professional. I definitely will take my recertification through Breathcamp again, as well as recommend to others. Nick Palma

Brent made this class so much fun and so informative. everyone got to ask all the questions they needed to and I left feeling pretty confident in what I had learned, especially having no experience in the medical field. I would recommend this class to everyone who wants to learn!

Wonderful way to learn first aid and keep certification up to date! I'm adding at least one friend or family member each year.

I genuinely had a great experience at WCU. I felt supported by my faculty throughout nursing…read moreschool and met a few friends I know will last a lifetime. One of my biggest pieces of advice to current students and new grads: USE CAREER SERVICES! The new grad job search is not easy, and after rejection after rejection, there were definitely times when finding a position started to feel almost impossible. My career advisor was there throughout the entire process. Christina helped me improve my resume, gave me advice during my job search, and when I finally started getting interviews, she sent me interview prep materials and resources to help me prepare. Having someone in my corner made me feel so much more supported during such an uncertain time. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything!! Once you graduate, pass the NCLEX, and the routine of nursing school is gone, navigating new grad life can feel overwhelming. Take advantage of the resources WCU provides because you don't have to figure everything out completely on your own. I'm so grateful for my experience at West Coast, the friendships I made, and the support I received even after graduating. All of those applications and rejections eventually paid off, and I'm so excited for this next chapter as a peds RN! (Exactly where I hoped to be)

WCU was a roller coaster of an experience for me. Mainly in the sense of managing my time…read moredifferently every 10-weeks. It is all fairly warned and the staff all do their best to ensure you are well supported. This review is going out to anyone who is curious about what happens after you pass both Exit Exam and NXLEX and the support given by the career advisor. During the last term I was paired with Alla Kostanyan, right away she reached out to make an effort to meet me and get to know what my goals were post WCU. She also kept it real and helped me see the many routes a new grad nurse can possibly take. Right away she began to make sure my resume looked good and was ready. I received several emails with all sorts of job openings ahead of time so that I may plan to apply accordingly. In my case particularly, before starting west coast I decided to apply at my local hospital as a patient safety aide, just to see if this is a place I would like to work at after graduation. Well, I loved it there and that gave me a shoe in as I navigated a job there during my time in school. I also stayed proactive and during my first term at WCU I signed up to volunteer at Cedars Sinai (another place I wanted to potentially work at). So you see in my case I did myself a favor beforehand. Which worked out greatly since I was able to build good rapport with both locations for the almost 3 years of school. I put in my work to achieve getting hired at my local hospital and I was able to receive a job offer. Overall , Alla made sure that I place my eggs in several baskets and made the application process easy. It's tough out there as a new grad and it can feel discouraging at times but don't give up because unlike me there are so many successful students whom don't think of a job until after graduation and eventually get hired do to the collective effort one's career advisor provides and the work the student puts in.

I completed the IV Therapy & Blood Withdrawal Certification course at Los Angeles Career College,…read moreand I have to say--this place runs smoother than most hospital floors I've worked on. The staff was organized, check-in was easy, and the hybrid format made the whole process painless (unlike some IV attempts I've witnessed in real life). What really impressed me was how efficient everything was. Once I passed my exam, they handed me my certificate the same day--no waiting, no chasing emails, no mysterious "processing time." Just boom. Certified. I wish everything in healthcare worked that fast. Now for the real highlight: Instructor Steele Erickson. Steele is the kind of nursing instructor you secretly hope for but never expect to get. He breaks down IV therapy and blood withdrawal with such clarity and patience that even tricky techniques suddenly feel manageable. He teaches with a calm, supportive energy that makes everyone relax. He's incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely invested in every student, and somehow keeps the class both educational and entertaining. As someone with 25+ years in healthcare, I can confidently say instructors like Steele do not grow on trees. If you're considering getting your IV Certification, go to Los Angeles Career College and hope you get Steele Erickson as your instructor. You'll walk away confident, competent, and wondering why every nursing class can't be this smooth. Highly recommended!

Life got in the way a couple of times during this portion of the class and I was able to talk to Mika and figure out a plan so that I wouldn't have to miss class. I also loved listening to her real life stories of working in nursing. The course I took was 5 weeks, 8 hours a day. The first two weeks were online. There is a lot of reading, a lot of quizzes, and several tests, but you get the hang of it quickly. The second week was practical where you learned the skills. I got pretty frustrated when I didn't get the skill right the first time, but the fact is that there are a lot of steps to the skills and these are brand new things that I'm learning. It all falls into place when you go into the clinical. You get to apply what you learned in class and in your practical learning. I especially loved my clinical rotations at the hospital. It gave me such a bigger perspective on the healthcare industry and patient care. I learned so much and discovered that I really liked working in ER. I look forward to applying everything I learned in my future career.
