I've been taking my 2 dogs here since they were puppies and they have always been well taken care of by Dr. Britten. Dr. Osborne and Dr. Bertolucci have occasionally seen them as well and they have all been very professional and caring. The nurses couldn't be nicer - they are friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Dr. Britten is extremely polite, patient, and kind and has always answered my questions clearly and provides additional resources via email when needed. He genuinely cares about his patients. The front desk staff is also extremely polite and friendly. When I call and ask to have my dogs' medical history they quickly email it to me and are always so pleasant. I don't understand the negative reviews and encourage anyone who is doubtful because of the negative reviews, to give them a try. Excellent friendly service! Also a tremendous value. Would recommend. We took our 10 year old goldendoodle here for dental surgery. We were quoted $1700-$2700 at different vet. This place was able to do the surgery under $1000. Definitely worth the 45 minute drive for us! The day of surgery I accidentally showed up 30 minutes earlier than they opened. They were flexible and allowed me to drop my dog off early. I plan to take my puppy here soon for neutering. read more

I have been going to see Dr. Joe Osborne and his staff for many years. Our cat is 19 years old and our two dogs and another rescue cat are always well taken care of. In fact, my daughter comes here from out-of-state with her cats for procedures and yearly examinations. The veterinarians and vet techs provide comprehensive patient diagnosis, appropriate use of diagnostic testing, and record management. Rest assured, if needed, they will provide a treatment plan when indicated with anesthesia and pain management during any surgical procedure. In addition, the veterinarians provide critical analysis of new information and research findings relevant to veterinary medicine. read more

I also don't want to be gaslit that it was initiated by a client, when the only people present were the receptionist and whomever she was training. We're done with this practice, which we've been using for our dogs since moving to Northville over 7 years ago. We were on the verge of switching vets last year, because we found the office atmosphere-and the "bedside" manner of the vets cold and impersonal. Every time we came in, we were treated as if it was the first time, and nobody seemed to remember us or our pets. The receptionist and vet techs don't wear name tags and don't introduce themselves, which feels very unprofessional. The only reasons we stayed were that our senior dog was dying, and a new vet there, Dr. Krista Stone, turned out to be helpful and compassionate and we were happy to work with her. Yesterday, we took our 5-month-old puppy to Meadowbrook to be spayed. I was told to expect 2 phone calls: one from Dr. Bertolucci, after the surgery, and a later one from the staff, with a pick up time. By 6 pm we were frantic with worry, and called the office, where we were told that someone had called us with a 5 pm pick-up time. We had received no voicemails or missed calls that day. Upon arriving to pick up our dog, we were told that someone had called that afternoon asking for an update on their puppy, and had been told that the operation went well and she could pick up her pet after 5. I took the initiative of calling Meadowbrook Animal Hospital in Rochester, to inquire whether they had had a client yesterday who called the wrong Meadowbrook. They confirmed this had indeed happened, however, the pet concerned was neither female nor canine. It was a male cat named Fluffy who was being neutered. So not only did the Meadowbrook Novi staff not ask for the name of the client and patient, they obviously weren't even paying attention to the type of animal concerned. I don't see how you can confuse a male cat with a female dog. The kicker is that when I phoned Dr. Joseph Osbourne, the owner of the Meadowbrook/Breckenridge practice, he was not at all receptive to my suggestion that-at a minimum-his staff be instructed to find out who is calling and about what pet. He was irritated and defensive. He seemed to feel it was completely reasonable for his staff to assume I was the caller. There was no empathy whatsoever with how concerned we had been, and only a perfunctory "I apologize." read more

I am disappointed with my experience here. The doctor did not have good bedside manner and approached my dog's issue very clinically, which felt very cold, oversimplified, and is not for me. She did not ask any questions, did not offer much information/explanation of diagnosis, and was VERY short with me when I asked follow up questions to get a better understanding of options for care. I was also given two prescriptions for my dog without ANY explanation or directions (yes, I simply read instructions from the bottle...). read more

Do NOT bring your pets here. The staff here are uncaring and Lynn the groomer is incredibly rude and something is off about her and her practices. I brought my dog here a twice to be groomed, and each time he came home he was shaking and had a glossy look in his eyes. He even had blood in his stool which he did not have prior and when I asked about this, I was dismissed and the doctor barely gave me any help. Both times I inquired about my dogs weird behavior and stomach issues and each time they were dismissive and blamed it on the sedatives, which my dog had had before elsewhere and never had issues. As well with each inquiry, they were very rude and short with me until the second time I let them have it for mistreating my dog (which was visible in his odd behavior of being shaky and very disoriented). After the second instance and having seen with my own eyes that they have yanked dogs in and treated them roughly (that same day I picked my dog up), which alongside everything else, it was more than enough for me to stop bringing my pet in. I will not have my dog mistreated and really hope no one else brings their pet here. If I could give 0 stars I would. Truly rude and horrible people here. read more

We scheduled a teeth cleaning service here because they gave us a written estimate of $170.00 plus what ever tooth extraction costs may come up during the procedure. Our dog also was going to have a Lumpectomy done to have a bump removed from his eye. We called Breckenridge to make the appointment with out a problem and received a reminder call the night before from the Meadowbrook phone number to give instructions on not to feed that dog that night. During the call they didn't mention that it was going to be done at the Meadowbrook facility and not at Breckenridge where we made the appointment. The following morning we arrive at Breckenridge to walk up to lock doors, then have to drive 20 minutes to Meadowbrook, not only making us late for the drop off but also late for work. Once we arrived the employee was nothing short of rude and sassy from the minute we walked in. "Well your dog has never been here before..." "We are going to need your vaccinations then..." "Oh no we cant call Vetselect! They won't give us anything! YOUR going to have to do it!" We then asked the lady for the fax number, she had no idea where it was and found us a magnet with it on it. After the procedure was complete we came to get the dog and our now $450 bill. The only tooth that needed to come out was $22. They charged us an addition $66 for bloodwork which was assumed to be in the price because no where on their estimate did it say that it would be an add-on cost.The Lumpectomy was $178 comparable quotes were $45... Being uncomfortable with our experience I contacted the owner of this business DR. Joseph P. Osbourne D.V First he said that the receptionist was just out of high school and very new to the job. He hired her cause she is a friends daughter. He also admitted that they send people to the wrong location all of the time and he even does it sometimes. Second he argued with me that it was very clearly stated in fine print just under the bold print estimate but did agree that it no where said "additional cost" or "not built into the estimate". (No I didn't get any money back) And lastly he just kept making excuses the the unfriendly receptionist, saying, "Well she can get grumpy when answering a lot of phone calls... But shes a really nice person!" By the way his idea of reconciliation "Would it make you feel better if I made her call and apologize?" Just go someplace else... I made a grooming appointment here for my two dogs which I had to reschedule - with more than 24 hours notice. The original appointment was scheduled for drop off between 9:00 and 9:15. When we set the second appointment, they gave me a different drop of time of 9:30 and 9:45. I clarified to be sure that the time was correct and was assured by the woman who scheduled me that it was. When I arrived to drop of my dogs today, I was told that because I wasn't there by 9:30, they gave my spot to someone on the wait list. It turns out that BOTH times I had been given were wrong and the drop off is actually 9:15 to 9:30. The staff here clearly has no idea what is going on. Needless to say, being 8.5 months pregnant and packing my 2.5 year old and two dogs into the car only to be told they gave my spot to someone on a wait list without ever calling me means I will NEVER return to this vet or groomer again. Furthermore, while they have been groomed here in the past, one of my dogs did come home with a small nick from the grooming tools and my other dog's dew claw is only trimmed about half the time.
