We visited Breka bakery to try some baking goods and drink. I really like their business hours and It is a good place to visit after dinner or gathering What we got: Apple fritter, Chocolate babka and iced cafe latte. I did not try apple fritter, I was told it was just ok, but, it was large portion. Chocolate babka was too sweet. Dough was crispy outside which was good, but inside was a bit dry and overly sweet. Iced cafe latte was very delicious! Sweetness was perfect with bold coffee flavor. Next time, we want to try different items, especially cakes looked great

Looks like the famed 24/7 coffee and bakery chain has finally opened up in Hastings-Sunrise. Finally, one has night coffee options besides McDonald's and A&W. Parking is plentiful on Hastings, as well as the side streets. This location is definitely one of the larger ones. Nice and spacious, as it actually takes up what looks like 2 storefronts. My only complaint (if one can call it that) is that the place can use 2-3 more tables. There is a large wasted space by the front entrance, and the fact that every table was occupied shows this is definitely the case. As of the time of writing, there is an outdoor (temporary?) seating area to the E of the coffee shop, on Kamloops, which definitely helps. Staff are friendly. The look and feel are very consistent with the other options. Good price, good coffee, good pastries. Here's to hoping this place survives. I think they'll do just fine though.

Where's the egg salad? First time trying this and not impressed. The other things I've had before were great especially the Cretzl

Barely any egg salad compared to the giant bun. Won't be ordering that again anytime soon

Wonderful café! Great food and prices. I go there at least three times a week. Love the pastries and the best coffee I have ever had.

I also got the passionfruit cheesecake which was out of this world. The bakery itself is pretty small and there are only a few places to sit, but the cheesecake slices themselves are circular and just enough for you to get a decent taste without overdoing it. The service is friendly, and they were very helpful with helping us choose the cheesecakes Ambience, wise, it is nothing to rave about, but it is not bad either. Highly recommend this place if you want cheesecake

Now, they have 2 locations on Commercial drive and in Port moody. I got several kinds of cheese cakes for Thanksgiving gathering. What we got: Classic Vanilla, Espresso, Earl grey, Mango, Passion fruits, Pumpkin spice, Chocolate, Houjicha, Birthday, Salted caramel, oreo, Peanut butter, It was good deal - buy 5 get 1 free. I could not have all flavor, Most of them went to other guest. I got Houjicha, and a little bit of salted caramel. Texture was as always rich and firm. I felt flavor was a bit weak for houjicha, still it was very delicious. Salted caramel was great, strong caramel flavor. I labeled flavor name on the top of cheesecake, so, all guest were so curious about all flavors. Birthday cake, mango, oreo, were popular between kids, adult prefer earl grey salted caramel, others. Overall, it was a lot of fun to share variety of cheese cake! I highly recommend to get them for occasion or for yourself.

It was a huge hit with everyone! The 6 inch cake was $69 and I added a customized birthday message on chocolate for an extra $3 which was a nice personal touch. They also offer a gluten free option for an additional $10 which is great for accommodating different dietary needs. One thing to keep in mind is that you'll want to order online well in advance because their cakes sell out quickly. I can definitely see why. They're fantastic! I'll be ordering from Gary's Patisserie again for future celebrations.

Gary's only allows to order the fresh mango cakes up to one week ahead to ensure they have enough ripe mangos, which I admire their dedication. We ordered the 6 inch cake for 9 people (7 adults and 2 kids) and everyone got a thin to average slice. The cake is definitely prettier than the other fresh mango cakes on the market, has a lot more mangos that are perfectly ripe and sweet, there is less wipped cream, and the sponge cake is softer. The family agreed that Gary's has the best fresh mango cake but at $69 for a 6 inch cake, versus $43 for a 6 inch mango cake from Saint Germaine, a cake from Gary's is definitely a treat and for special occasions. Is Gary's worth the premium price? I think so but not everyone in my family agreed. One thing to note: Gary's do offer cake in a jar that's $8.50 each. When we went, they had a BOGO deal with the mango cake jars. My nephew asked my sister to buy the BOGO deal knowing that the 6 inch cake was not going to be enough, as the kids like having a second slice of cake.

Japanese bakeries just hit different and I didn't come across anything that I hated. The curry pan is absolutely the star with the crunchy outer texture and savory curry filling. The yuzu green onion cheese bun and pizza bun were delicious and I could've been equally happy with those alone. Meanwhile the kawaii animal breads are begging to be bought with how attractive they look - obviously toddler friendly. Highly recommend a stop here.

Firstly, in today's economy, the prices have gone up; however, what I got wasn't really on par with the price tags. The melon pan had no filling in it which is the norm, however, i couldn't even taste hojicha. The "melon" part of the bread all fell off after one bite. I've not had a melon pan that was like this before. The beef curry pan was delicious but there was barely any filling in it. I remember there was more many years ago. It used to be one of my favorite items from Kanadell so it was definitely a disappointment. Lastly, the animal character with red bean filling inside, there was also barely any filling in it. The earl Grey shortbread cookies tasty but I found it a tad bit expensive because it was a small packaging .
