Stopped in at 12:15. Walked in to a lot of open tables. Waitresses talking and eating. I asked if I can sit down. I ordered an omelette. It came with no toast or potatoes. I asked if they were coming and was told that I have to ask for them. I'm ready to leave. The omelette was good. The waitresses are still eating. A customer got out of her table to get the sweetener she wanted from another table. Both waitresses watched her and said nothing. Not planning on goin back. I ordered a pancake and got a humungous pancake that over filled the PLATTER it was served on. I didn't go there to be fed like a hog. But it looked like it. Brenda's is very unassuming from the outside. Inside it opens into a dining area bigger than you would expect. I sat myself and was quickly waited on by very friendly wait staff and ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger with fries. What I got was a monster 1/2lb burger with the works and 3 slices of bacon. It took some work, but I was able to finish it. Of course the next I returned for a late breakfast. Country fried steak, eggs and hashbrowns. Again, awesome food and service. So here I am again, 850 miles from home on vacation and it's Thanksgiving day. They are out performing the chain restaurants with their "Welcome to my kitchen" style service. Eat-in and take-out orders and they're keeping everyone happy. Serving a full turkey and ham dinner with the fixin's and pies for dessert! And for a price never would have back home. Food and service was excellent. Sunday morning crowd on labor day so the restaurant was at capacity. Waitresses were quick to clear table and get our group of 6 seated. Food was great. No complaints from anyone. read more

Our hostess had recommended Brenda's for breakfast, along with another place. Initially, we were afraid to try it based on the poor Yelp rating. Glad we ignored the previous Yelp reviews and stopped for breakfast. Everything was delicious! The portion sizes were very generous and the prices were incredibly low, given the the quality and amount. My coffee cup was never empty, the bacon was plentiful and crisp, and the hash browns were flavorful and crispy (They were so good that I didn't even add ketchup)! My husband had the ham steak, based on the waitress recommendation, and he was very impressed. We both devoured the tasty biscuits and gravy that was included with our menu choices. If you have something you like that you don't find on the menu, just ask and they may fix it for you. Right now on Saturday mornings from 9 - 11 they have a local Blue Grass band play for your enjoyment. You can even get the latest fishing reports if you can believe what fishermen tell you. Delicious and cheap! Sometimes it can be really busy and no seating but that just shows how good it is.
