I've been visiting Brenden Theatres in Vacaville for years. I tend to visit and see a movie at least once a month lately. That being said, this weekend I went twice to see the new Spider-Man and The Odyssey. The theater was very busy but it was staffed well. The parking lot is very big and handled the busy weekend traffic. I was in two different theaters, one had updated seats and the other had the older red recliners. Both were fairly comfortable. I heard people mentioning that on the new recliners they miss the tray table that was on the old ones. I agree. I noticed the staff regularly checked in during the movies. Not interrupting. The sound is always good and I had no other issues. The bathrooms were very busy and I believe this caused them to be abnormally dirty on my visits. Usually this is not the case. read more

Just wasted my money trying to watch Odyssey in one of their regular stages. The sound quality was so poor you could not make out the dialogue in any of the many action scenes as well as the all the key scenes in the banquet hall. I should have asked for my money back. Saw a few movies there here recently and they have redone some of the theaters with new seats, which is nice. They have more of a self service type selection where you can order your own food and pay for it and then just go pick it up at the counter, which is pretty nice overall I like this place read more

If you come here, you gotta do the JBX premium. The seats are great and sound is loud. I do wish there were food trays to place stuff on. This is the best cinema in the area. However, I do miss the Cinemark back home. read more

Took the family to see the Mario Galaxy movie. Went to the standard theater to save some money compared to the JBX "premium" one. My home surround sound sounded better than the standard room. Refund me my money for 3 the movie theater was freezing. The thermostat was broke is what they told us. One person told us and the other one said they would fix it which never got done. A number of us had to go to our cars and get blankets. it was so freaking cold and then I have to sit in and do this and the young lady that I told regarding the situation with the young man pleasuring himself asked us if we could move instead of going and approaching the young man and making him leave the theater I was pissed. These "kids" employees have no clue what there doing their NOT trained in customer service AT ALL .... If you watch them they're running around behind the counter like ants they have no idea what they're doing. They're running into each other. They're not interacting with the customer. We're doing their work. Came here to watch a movie for the first time and was skeptical with the reviews. I do agree this place is outdated a bit but I went mid week and honestly popcorn wasn't bad. Service was straight forward. I was in theater 8 and the seats seemed in good condition my seat was comfortable clean and worked. Beware of Brenden Theaters! As thay charge a $1.75 convenice fee for each ticket purchased at the Theaters box office or counter. Was nothing stating about the charge was not to happy about it. As we went to the early showing and the Senior tickets were shown at $8.25 each and when payment was made they were $10.00 each. Did ask the lady and was told there is a convenice fee added on. For tickets bought at the theater. Also the lady running the ticket counter/ Snack bar needs to have some customer training and learn what a customer is . Not a very good experience at the Kingman AZ Theater. Also did spend $38.00 on snacks. And things are way over priced as a Pretzel was $9.00. Also Theater needs work . And doesn't have recliner seats not happy. Also did email Brenden Theaters corporate office and even called several times to ask about the convenice charge and no response from either. Theaters complain no one goes. We'll news flash, it's too expensive. Brenden Theatres went to assigned seating. Basically forcing people to get tickets online and paying "convenience fees." We were going to see a movie for Father's Day. Instead of paying "convenience fees," we decided to go to the theater, the day before, and purchase the tickets in person. To our surprise, after paying $14 per person (x4, $56) we were then going to be charged $7 for a booking fee. Needless to say we left. I'm so done with companies forcing us into paying more and then them blaming us for a convenience fee. We haven't been to the theaters in a while. Honestly this might have been the last. There is absolutely no reason for a booking fee other than greed. Not to mention the inconvenience of having to use a kiosk to purchase our tickets. There were only three kiosks, creating lines. It was nicer when tickets could be purchased from a person who knew how to use the software. read more

Love the new Brendan plus membership. Will be coming to the movies more because of this. I love Jbx and wish all theatres could be upgraded so this could be the new standard. Popcorn was great. With the movie tickets. The women's bathroom needs work though. Two stalls don't close and some out of service. There are at least three sinks that don't have a soap pump that works. If it needs a refill or the pump is broken remains a mystery to me. Fix those up and I'll update my review :). read more

My partner and I visited today 7/23 for my birthday. We check in, buy concessions, and go to our seats. The theatre was cold so my partner goes out to retrieve his jacket from the car. He gets stopped by the manager named Ian and accuses him of sneaking in. Ian didn't bother asking his employees to verify that we checked in, Ian didn't accept the receipt he had of our paid concessions, and Ian didn't believe his employee when he told him that my partner had in fact walked with me from the concessions to the theatre. Ian then walked my partner to the theatre in attempt to embarrass us and came up to me demanding to see our tickets (I had them on my phone). I understand theatres get people who sneak in but this was profiling. There were many ways Ian could have confirmed his suspicions yet he chose not to seek answers from his employees. read more

Came here to watch Zootopia 2 and honestly had a great time. The theater itself is insanely big, super nice, and feels really well maintained. Everything was clean, warm, and comfortable -- not run-down at all. There's a strong nostalgic, old-school movie theater vibe here, but in a good way. It feels like the kind of place you used to go growing up, just better taken care of. The seating and layout made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. The popcorn was fresh and pretty solid, nothing fancy but it did the job. The only downside was that the butter machine and part of the concession stand weren't working, which was a bit of a bummer, especially for a movie night. Overall, this is a great spot to catch a movie if you want a comfortable, classic theater experience without feeling stuck in the past. Went to the movies today and had a lousy experience before the movie. We got a large popcorn and a drink. I asked for a box so we could share the popcorn easier and they didn't have any. I asked if I could have another empty bag and was told "NO we would have to charge you for another popcorn". So I asked about the paper tray they put nachos on and got the same answer! Our go to theater! Love the comfy recliners and now they have added themed drinks which is a fav! A couple of the seats need replaced but all in all nice theater. Theater #8 was perfectly clean, the seats were comfortable and in great condition, and the screen and sound were excellent. The hot dogs and popcorn were fresh and yummy (unlimited butter is a bonus). This isn't a luxury theater, but it's exactly the nostalgic movie-going experience we all need sometimes. It's the blue bag thats only like an ounce bigger than the small. & if you come on a week day, they don't have as much food ready. Which makes sense. But then it takes waaaaay too long. First concessions, our Diet Pepsi was flat even after returning it for a second try. The popcorn was stale. In the theatre the sound was poor and the seats are very worn out. Not a great experience. I've never been to Brenden Theatres since i moved to Vacaville. I know, I know..very long time coming! Being from Sacramento, I must admit, I've been pretty spoiled with some pretty nice movie theaters (Shout Out to IMAX and Century Theater Arden!) I'll give this theater credit, it is pretty big on the inside and has reclining seats. It was pretty dead, but to be fair, it was a Wednesday night. There was a few concession stands, but, only 1 was open. There was popcorn all over the place. The game room was locked up. Honestly, this is one of the most depressing looking movie theaters I have ever seen. The seat I sat in even had popcorn in it. It's a nice theater, with the bare minimum and large movie screen. It may be awhile before I stop by again. I'll either drive to Concord (Drive in) or Sac to watch a movie next time. read more

9/29/25 Brenden is the best in Solano County. I'm 53 and have lived here since 1981. There's none better. Everyone who has been here any time knows this. The chair my husband sat at had a tear on the trim and looked really trashy. The theatre was super hot and we err both really sweating.

I have Members plus Membership to get three free movies a month with the annual plan. Me and my daughter look forward to going to the movies every month. There is always a short line at the snack food stand, we love the recliner chairs And have always had a positive experience in this movie theater and with the staff who are great at communication and professional. Long ago, Brenden Theaters used to be a decent, well-liked place with friendly employees who genuinely cared about their jobs. Current day, post-pandemic, the theater no longer has a greeter, or anyone who scans, or checks tickets--in fact, they cut the job of several disabled employees to compensate for the business's lack of development. Today, I went to see Terrifier 3, which was pretty good. Unfortunately, I had the displeasure of having an inoperable 'reclining seat' that didn't work in JBX for a ticket that was $20 an adult. Now, while Brenden does not control the kind of people who come to the establishment, the two young teens/adults who occupied the seats next to me were incredibly obnoxious, and rude, and left their garbage after the show. Many years ago, the theater had many families, and people who weren't litterbugs or dirtbags--but, that has since changed. The demographic is now loud, aggressive teens on dates, who have no regard for others. However, regarding the establishment itself, the majority of the seats do not recline--regardless of which room you're in. In addition, the soap dispensers are scarcely refilled, so bring hand sanitizer. That's also not to mention the messy state of the theater in almost every aspect--the workers rarely do their job. The butter machines weren't filled, and nobody who worked there refilled anything. Another weird tidbit, but the box office area is completely vacant. There haven't been lines for movies since...ever? It's almost redundant to have it at this point, almost looks haunted. Finally, there is a big, giant sign in the front that states that you can't have costume weapons, face makeup, and a bunch of self-explanatory rules--without, of course, someone to enforce or regulate this. What you should take from this, is to go on a weekday, go during the daytime, and buy tickets in advance because there's usually no manager on duty, and the workers slack off, so don't ask for help. read more

This is generally the theatre I go to when I want to see a movie because of the fact that it has recliner chairs and little tables to keep your snacks on. I always get my tickets online, but you can buy them at a register inside the building. For the most part, this place is pretty clean, but i do know it's hard to keep up when things are busy. It also doesn't help that people don't clean up their own messes and leave stuff on the floor when they spill, expecting the staff to clean it for them. I don't blame the staff for that, I blame slobs. The staff themselves are always ready to help and serve. They prepare your snacks, drinks, and popcorn super fast, so you aren't waiting forever. The theatre's themselves are excellent, and they clean in between showings. I would say I recommend this place as opposed to any others in close proximity. The food is always got, the snacks are great, although pricy, and the chairs are pretty comfortable. So much so that my mom fell asleep during Moana 2 . She gets a pass because she's older, so don't judge. Lol. read more

Gave this place another chance after a bad first experience and will never go back now. This is the most run down and sad theater I've ever been to. I grew up in a small crappy town with a better theater than this place. The blonde woman who works at the bar just sits on her phone and will not acknowledge you. The staff are slow af. The bathroom was foul, like toilet paper rolls just sitting on the floor next to the toilet instead of actually being restocked. The seats are worn out and nasty feeling. And I could barely hear the quieter parts of the movie because when the AC would kick on it made an awful noise the entire time. I don't believe this place has had its carpets cleaned since it opened; the floors are disgusting. The chairs in the theater need reconditioning, the lights on the walls no longer work, and the neon signs leading up to the ticket counter are broken. The concession stands look extremely deserted. Overall a decent theatre. They have the updated comfy recliner seats and a pull out tray to hold your goodies and a cup holder big enough to hold their large drink. Went on a Friday for a matinee showing and it was fairly busy but the concession stand had ample staff so we barely waited at all to get our popcorn and other snacks. Only reason I took off a star was because of the women's bathroom. One stall was blocked off completely with caution tape because it was missing a door. And once myself and my two daughters(6 & 3) were done doing our business we went to wash our hands only to discover that all the faucets were blazing hot... literally had to cup the water in my hand to cool the water down enough to get the soap off my three year old... told the 6 year old to hold off and to use sanitizer. read more

The last time I've been to the movie theaters was in 2018! It was my 4yo first time and it was an awesome experience for him! We watched Super Mario Bros. After the movie, my son said, "Mama! To be the only theater in Vacaville , the upkeep in poor. The bathrooms are unclean, broken stalls and out order most of the time . They need new food ideas and snacks , not just the same hotdog and pretzel The recliner chairs and old , dirty and broken and sometimes they don't work and they are not being wiped down or cleaned .
