When we first purchased our camper, our experience with this dealership was excellent. The sales team was knowledgeable, helpful, and made the buying process easy. Early on, the service department was also responsive and attentive, which gave us confidence that we'd be well taken care of after the sale. Unfortunately, that level of service has changed dramatically. Getting an appointment has become extremely difficult, and when we do manage to get our camper in, it often sits for months with little to no communication. We've had issues that were discussed and documented, only to find out later they were forgotten or never addressed. Following up for updates is frustrating, and we frequently feel like we're the ones having to chase information. We understand that service departments can be busy, but clear communication and follow-through are essential, especially when customers are without their campers for extended periods. It's disappointing because we know firsthand how great this dealership can be. The contrast between our initial experience and the service we've received recently is significant. We hope management takes steps to improve communication, scheduling, and accountability within the service department so future customers can receive the level of care that originally earned our business. read more

The minor repairs weren't done at time of pickup and the they didn't order the replacement part even after they had failed us the first time!! a follow up to my previous review. We've now had our stunning 2025 Brinkley Z 3100 for a few months. Firstly we are absolutely thrilled with the Brinkley, quality, finish and engineering detail is really outstanding, We've had a few travel trailers before buying this 5th wheel and really cant comment enough about the quality of this RV. As per my previous review we were very happy with the entire sales process. Unfortunately we needed the assistance of Bretz and Brinkley to help resolve a painful issue we had with registering the RV out of state. A tedious and time consuming matter. The support I received from both Bretz and Brinkley was fantastic. A really big thank you to Ridge, Jessica and Kaylen for their assistance with this matter. Seriously your assistance was greatly appreciated. It's really great to know that after the check has been cashed and the RV leaves the lot that there is ongoing solid support. Update to my earlier review. The event that prompted the review was our electrical system. When we purchased our RV, we upgraded our solar panels for an additional $6500. On several trips, we had electrical issues. It all culminated on our Spring Break trip when our fridge quit working (unless it was plugged into shore or using the generator). When we got home, we discovered the inverter was blown. Annie Perez, Bretz's Service Manager, informed us the inverter wasn't installed by Bretz; therefore, they weren't responsible for any of the electrical (although Bretz rewired the new 6-solar panels and the control panel). We chose to take our RV to a local shop rather than drive 100 miles back to Billings for the 9th time. Our local service tech identified a number of substandard wiring issues when the solar panels and the new GoPro Control Panel were installed by Bretz; incorrect gauge wires, no ground, no fuses. Bretz didn't even completely caulk around the solar panel mounts on the roof. This could've resulted in a catastrophic roof failure. Annie told us this was a annual maintenance issue despite the fact the caulking wasn't completed, and that Bretz had our RV on their lot awaiting repairs for 8 of 12 months we owned it. Initially Annie told us Bretz would pay for the wiring problems, but when we sent them the bill she refused and sent a very vague question/answer reply from GoPower regarding whether the wiring was correctly installed. We had no other recourse at this point, short of a lawsuit, so I wrote the Yelp review. Within an hour of its posting, they figured out who we were and the GENERAL Manager, Chris Jenkins called. We had made several prior attempts to talk to other managers over the course of the year, but we would get passed off and no one would ever be in the building or available to talk otherwise. Once we were even offered to go back to our salesman to purchase another rig, but he didn't even show up. Besides, we would have to pay pricey taxes, tags, licensing all over again for something that likely had even more problems than our own unit. After Mr. Jenkins did a little research, he found mixed information regarding GoPower (control panel) wiring/install; therefore, he agreed to reimburse us for the rewiring, the addition of ground wires and fuses; also, he reimbursed us for the cost of a new inverter. We have since received a reimbursement check for the damages and are really appreciative to Chris for reaching out and making this right with us. While it's regretful that the summer passed without the use of our motorhome, they did a great job in the repairs and in their effort to amend our previous issue . We recently purchased a travel trailer from Bretz RV in Billings. It was bought on 4/23/25. When we picked up the rv I was given the keys to my truck after they had done the hitch work and was told my trailer was out in the parking lot ready for us. All other RV dealers I have worked with had my truck and trailer connected. Bretz had my truck in one location and the trailer in another. I had to hitch my trailer myself. I also was not given the keys to the trailer. Before walking back into the dealership to find out where the keys were I looked in the trailer and finally found them hanging from a zip tie under the kitchen sink! My temporary registration was set to expire on June 2nd, so I called a few days before to ask about the status of the paperwork that the dealer was to send to DMV. I had to leave a voice mail. Six days later I have not received a all back. I have probably worked with 4 or 5 different RV dealers over the years. This dealer by far is the worst I have dealt with. I will not be going back! read more

Well my boat finally was repaired a couple weeks after I posted this review. Of course none of the work that was done to my boat since I bought it, brand new, has ever been covered under warranty. This was another $1000 dollar bill. The boat ran great the first 2 times I put it on the water and now the same issue has returned. I will be finding someone else to repair it this time around. My new Forrest River No Boundaries travel trailer is in for warranty repair which Bretz scheduled for June 29, 2023. Today is August 1, 2023 and no response from Bretz other than after a query on July 25 and told they were busy. No response from a call two days ago. Too busy to respond after the unit sits awaiting repair for 5 weeks? The warranty on this unit is 12 months. Bretz has had it sitting on their lot for over 10% of the warranty period. Are they stalling until the warranty expires? I hope they have a lawyer with free time. Bretz RV......never again. BTW, check the Bretz reviews. Bretz RV just doesn't act like they are dealing with real people who have real situations. Have been trying to work with both this location and the location in Missoula for a month. Same story for both locations, disrespectful of our time, patience and money. Even when they are fixing to make a steal and get my Fifth wheel and Dually ( both practically new) and have us over pay / finance the reverse equity for a new Class C, they drop the ball, go on vacation and don't pass anything on to anyone and just expect us to wait and be there whenever they get back around to it because we needed a Class C to to travel more for a family emergency. Doug Hoyer and Hannah from finance both split and went on to vacation and to do other stuff once they thought they had my agreement to the deal, left me hanging for a week, didn't let me know they were going to be out, didn't let any other associate know what was going on and most importantly, didn't get the Class C on its way to being transferred! then came back to realize it was too late, I was already getting to leave. If you want to be taken advantage of, deal with people who find it okay to be inconsiderate, inconsistent and inconvenience you, go to Bretz, otherwise find a dealership who actually cares about a relationship with their customers! read more

We were looking for a very specific make and model travel trailer. Their website claimed they had 1 in stock. Called before leaving Bozeman to confirm that they had the exact model in stock. The sales guys said yes we actually have 2 of those here. After driving 2 hours Caleb greeted us and immediately informed me that they did not have the model we were looking for. After arriving around 5:30 pm found the parts department closed at 5 rather than 6. A sales team member went out of his way to see if a parts person was still around. The parts manager was in his pickup leaving and actually turned around to come back in n store to assist! That is awesome customer service! He fixed me right up. I bought a used boat from Bretz RV and of course it was an 'as is' sale. They started it for me and it seemingly ran okay. First trip out it ran for less than one hour, but then the motor blew. They took it in to service and that is where things really went wrong. They replaced the head gasket and planed the head and worked on the water pump. We had the boat in the water for 5 minutes the second time out before the head gasket blew again. Back to the 'service' department at Bretz RV and "Marine". The service department took it back right away and kept it for more than two months. The engine block was supposedly planed as well this time. The wrong head gasket was ordered for the second engine rebuild (wouldn't you look back at the previous invoice for the part number?) Oh and we should probably work on the water pump (again). Long story long, it was rebuilt twice and I was told it was good to go. They sent me to the parking lot to wait for my boat, only no one brought it after 30 minutes. I returned to the service desk and then a Mr Bretz himself brought out my boat, but was insulted when I said the service was unsatisfactory. He physically tried to block me from hooking up my boat in order to coerce an apology from me. I requested he not touch me again or keep me against my will. He seemed to think better of it and 'allowed' me to leave. Next day at the lake it wouldn't start and the battery was dead (so you didn't start it to check the motor after the second rebuild, obviously). But by that time it was September and no more chances to try it. Now today, it's spring! Wonderful weather and a chance to put the boat in the water. I charged the battery (fool me once, Mr Bretz!). What should happen but the motor will not hold compression under load if it is pushed past 2000 rpm. So still stuck with a boat that I cannot use. Thanks, Bretz family! Now I am waiting for an appointment with a boat shop that hopefully can do boat service. Please take 'Marine' out of your name and off your sign. This has been such a waste of thousands of dollars. read more

Absolutely the worst business to deal with. This includes the Missoula location. They are just in it for the numbers. NO customer service after the sale. Getting into one of their service centers is nearly impossible. Getting someone to call you back is even worse. Be very careful if you buy from them. Be sure and check the unit over from top to bottom. They will tell you they do a multi-inspection of the unit. There is no way they do any inspection. Make sure they fix any problem right there or you will spend hours trying to get it corrected. As mentioned, the service center is terrible. There are much better places to buy any RV. read more

When we decided to get an RV that we would be living in full time, we seen an ad for Bretz and decided to give them a try. The sales man was really kind, and helped us. That was the only part of the experience we enjoyed. When we picked out the one that we wanted, it had a few things that needed fixed. We were on a short time frame and was told it would be done and ready within a few days. Unfortunately it took about 3 weeks before it was ready. We were told the part would be overnighted but it was not. Again, the sales man was very nice and kept in contact with us, but the other departments weren't as helpful. When we went to pick it up, after being told it was ready, the communication was terrible. One person would say it was ready, another person would say its not and not to listen to their co worker and that it would be another hour or so. Then another would say no they are confused, it is ready. It was very frustrating. Then when we went to order some items, it took forever because they kept messing up on how to place the order. When we went to do the walk thru, it was very rushed. We aren't familiar with campers so we wanted them to show us everything. It was very rushed and I kept telling them that we had the time that day to make sure we understood everything and that it worked properly. When they tried the furnace, it kicked on a fan and the gal said that it wont heat up right away during summer hot days (This was a really hot day!) but she assured us that it worked. She did a quick tutorial of how things worked and said the tanks were empty and ready for use, and that it was cleaned and everything was in working order. We left with the camper and set it up at our house to get things transferred over. We immediately realized the motor to the slide, which was the part they were to replace, wasn't properly installed and my husband had to fix it himself as we couldn't get the slides to work properly. Then the hot water heater wasn't working so we fixed that. We then moved to another city and set up and realized the furnace was not working. We spent several days trying to figure out how to fix it, and even though we're early into fall, it was fairly chilly in the mornings. We finally just hired a mobile RV tech and he fixed the problem which was $300 to fix. Something they assured us was fixed prior to selling it to us. The whole experience has been a nightmare and we likely will never go back, or refer anyone to them. Like I said before, the sales guy was decent, but the rest of the experience was just poor. Also, it wasn't super clean as we found mouse poop all over and just did a deep clean ourselves. read more

We purchased a motorhome from them Sept. 5, 2018. It was after the signing of the papers that we realized what a mistake we made. All of the sudden the attitude toward us changed and it has been a battle getting things that are covered by warranty fixed. We took it in on the 12 of Sept for work but it got stalled waiting on approval and parts. We contacted the manufacturer to ask if parts were ordered for it and if it had been approved. They said that they had never been contacted. We have since got another dealership to help us along with the manufacturer to have repairs done and warranty work covered. We reported them to the BBB! Customer service is non existent here! Do yourself a huge favor and go somewhere else! read more

Purchased our used Class A Motorhome in October 2021. Did a walk-thru on the rig and we were assured that all the appliances worked. Did not test the propane on the fridge. They pushed the button up and down on the night shade (windshield) to show us it worked. With it being Winter in MT we took the rig straight to the storage yard as we didn't plan on using it until spring to go 4 states to a wedding. Get the rig out of storage in May and start finding all these issues. The night shade did go up and down but only about 8 inches then it would stop. You had to pull it out the rest of the way and then roll it back up by hand until the motor would kick back on. Turned on the windshield wiper but the fluid pump did not work. (never even thought to check that). The night before we leave, its maiden voyage for us, packing all our things, we unplugged it from electricity and when the refrigerator switched from electric to propane it became a flame thrower causing damage to the right side, and roof of the Motorhome. Firefighters responded and then poured water on and into the rig. They found heat in the ceiling and poured more water in it. Fire department found a crack in the propane line leading to the fridge and that is the cause. It looks like a repair had been made but it was very shoddy work. This was a AS IS sale, I know that, but you would think that there should be honesty on the dealerships part. They definitely lived up to the term Used Car Dealer. Went to the dealership the next morning and though the Salesman who had sold is the rig in Oct tried to help he was shut down. We were told that a Service adviser had looked at the damage and estimated it at only $20 to $30k. When I questioned that she said rudely that is what her 7 years of experience leads her to believe. I asked if she had looked at the roof or insulation and her response was "that's only 10K." The same person then told he that if we wanted to get this in to be fixed we needed to sign for the estimate and repair order. She told us they were booked until late July and if we wanted it fixed we had to sign today. Our salesman also told us realistically we would not get it back until winter. They main idea of buying at the end of last year was to use it this season. Our insurance company told us to no longer have any more interaction with Bretz since they sold us the rig and that they would get an independent person to do an estimate. To be fair they did offer to lend us a Class C rig 5 hours after we had already gone home and were in the process of leaving for the wedding. If you want to go to a Typical Used Car dealer then by all means they are your type of business. If you want an honest dealership that stands behind their products then find someone else. read more

This place has had my brand new motor coach for 5 months. We bought it from them last December and took it straight to California only to discover this coach was not ready for prime time or even the open road. The drivers window has a huge gap and the windshield wiper didn't even work. Fun times driving that home in a snow storm. After we got it home there was a plethora of major things wrong including the level system. We brought it all the way back to them in Billings and they have had it now for 5 months and they don't answer our calls or return them. I am more than likely going to have to take Legal action to get anything done. I would not suggest anyone do business with this place ever. read more

Made an appointment at least a month in advance to have my AC issue diagnosed. The service tech said they were wide open and for me to pick a day to bring it in and they would get it done. The day of the appointment I spoke to Holy who told me it would take at least 3 days so I would need to leave truck and Camper there. I said that was not stated when I made the appointment and that's why I made it so far in advance. She was very rude and told me no one there would ever say that.... Didn't have a very good experience. Took almost 6 hours to take delivery, yes it says could take 4-6 hours, but really? They tout their pre delivery inspection, but I'm not so sure they really do it. Got back home with camper from delivery day and they sent me with keys, but not the key that opens the little door that operates the hydraulic jacks to get it off my truck. Had to call a locksmith for $100 (they did reimburse me that after I complained to sales manager). Had off grid reservations for the next day, tried generator and transfer switch would not function. 1/2 day later service guy got back to me and told me to tap with hammer, which worked. Salesman says I'm supposed to schedule service appointment.......seriously, it's my problem now? Ok, finally camping now. 2 speakers were blown and still have to tap transfer switch. Started using toilet and god awefull smell starts. There was waste left in tank. This was a 2018 model and in nice shape and I paid the "Covid over price" for it. So, I guess I would say, don't put any value in their pre delivery inspection. They are turning and burning to get them off the lot. They need to practice taking care of yesterday's customers,before they deal with todays. On a positive note, we love the camper. read more

Options with service, cool! We chose to get ours in Nampa, ID our selves. Nampa was great and accommodating. Course, they sold us what we wanted, right? Bretz offers free storage for your new purchase up to year. We live in Billings. Well let's just start by saying sales was great, However this is a company that puts more priority on sales than they do service. They prioritize getting new campers sold and out of the shop than they do taking care of clients. They Bragg about their shop and being able to get you in and out quickly. We used our new grand design camper one day and had to return it for warranty work. After telling us they would get it in that day and look at it, they took 2 weeks to look at it Just to see what parts they needed. That is not good service at all!!!! My wife and I are big Bretz fans after our first encounter the last 2 days. So - yesterday is a Friday. We're leaving our last RV park and I notice our power readings are much lower than normal. I call Airstream customer service in Ohio and they make a couple suggestions and tell me the only authorized repair places are Bretz's in Billings and Missoula. I think "Great - we're going right by Billings!" So we call - they tell us they're taking appointments for much later in the month. I explain we're just passing through and losing power by the hour. Customer service young man named Dayton was kind enough to say, even though we couldn't get into the shop, we could swing by and he'd take a look. 2,hours later and 3 minutes off the I-90 exit and we're there. Dayton comes out, looks the trailer gauges over, and says we need a new converter. We go in and talk to Fyre in the parts dept. She calls Airstream and finds out they have a compatible converter. Now - talk about service! They let us camp in their parking lot overnight and schedule our work to be done today (Saturday!) when the service dept was officially closed. By noon we're on our way! Problem solved! Power restored! Anxiety relieved! Huge thanks to Dayton and Fyre and a young man who helped me this morning whose name I failed to remember (sorry!) Do not do business with this RV dealer!! First, The after service people try and sell you things that are not necessary. It is a complete ripoff. Definitely call NuCamp, the manufacturer, and ask their advice. Worst is that they put their stickers all over our RV. We had to scrap off all the stickers, which took a lot of time. I have never heard of buying a vehicle and the dealer puts stickers on your car or van. They should pay for a wash and wax to get off the residual. read more

Our salesmen were GREAT! We purchased a used class A motorhome, they said we couldn't take it because they would run it through the shop and verify everything was in working condition. When we went to pick it up the windshield was cracked from top to bottom, our salesman met us at the door and apologized over and over, said he and the other salesman would take care of it and they did. We were suppose to have a 5 hour training to show us the fundamentals and functions of our coach. Our instructional time was about a hour, didn't cover much of any of the systems, he was too busy selling new batteries and solar system. When he showed us our hydraulic jack system he showed us incorrect. We went ahead and purchased solar batteries and panel, suppose to keep us charged while traveling down the road. Finally after several weeks we picked up our motorhome, windshield was not fixed, but solar panel and batteries were installed, went to drive away and our camera system did not work, went in to report the issue and the service writer stated she didn't know anything about them and asked another service writer to help. After 30 or so minutes they had the mechanic that installed the solar come look, he didn't know where the breaker panel was, nor the fuses that provided power for that system. We took the books out and the service writer and us finally found fuses and breakers, changed the fuse and the camera system worked. I kept telling the service writer, that was helping us, that the refrigerator wasn't cooling, he insisted it was fine, never checked, and told me it took time for a residential fridge to cool. Got home and nope refrigerator did not work, found breaker and it was tripped. First trip in our coach and the solar system did not work, it would not hold a charge, dropped to 60% within the first 3 hours. Once we got set up we discovered that our black tank was 2/3 full, they never cleaned the tank in their check before delivery. Took it back and told them it would not keep up. Left it again so the windshield could get installed and check out the power issue. I called the solar company, GoPower, and gave them our information. GoPower told me there was no way one panel will ever work, we went back to Bretz to have further discussion. Service manager, service writer, mechanic and the guy that did our walk thru and conned us into the solar all met. Mechanic was suppose to verify installation was correct and they were to take it to a diesel shop to verify another issue. Received an email from the service writer that installation was fine, but we were going to need another solar panel, we said no. November we picked up our motorhome for a trip we had planned and the windshield was finally replaced, windshield not installed correct, it whistles going down the road. While the windshield was being replaced the dash upholstery was cut/torn, windshield goo was all over the dash, couch, floor and bedroom carpet. Service writer called several times to inform us that the refrigerator that they had ordered, they insisted our power issue was within the fridge, was still not in. She also informed us that they closed the month of December and would reopen January. We were supposed to take it back for the power issue after we returned from our trip. Our coach has a super slide and we were told by the manufacturer that the closest service center that had the ability to remove it was in Denver and not to let anyone remove it. There are pages of emails to the service writer and service manager was copied. Service manager called after I had been contacted by a company person, that had been notified of a different issue, service manager attempted to say he never knew that we were having so many issues, until I reminded him that was not true and reiterated the facts. He said he was sending a fuel card to help cover all of our trips. He never did. We took our motorhome to a Thor service center, our refrigerator is fine, there are 2 electrical sensors that need replaced. I called and left a message with the manager of the store in October and have never heard from him. We love the coach, had a great time with grandkids on our trip. Once the electrical issue is resolved and have now had someone go thru it to verify nothing else is wrong, we look forward to summer. Bretz have a nice looking building, great sales department but it stops there. read more

I called to buy a unit from Bretz RV. They ask me to put a $500 to hold the RV. Brent the sales person had not called me since the first day. So I called the Scott the finance person and they said they could not get me financed. I went to my locale bank and they had me financed in 3 day's. I attempted to call my sales person, and again I could not get in touch with him. I called the store and informed the person that answering the phone that I was trying to buy A RV and that I got the RV financed through a locale bank. She had not a clue what to do, I asked to speak to Scott, but she put me on the phone with a SENIOR sales person. He said he would call me back, Surprise, no one called me back. I finally got hold of Scott and told me, before we can get the trailer ready, YOU need to bring a check. I told Scott I was not a bank and I'm sure if he called my bank, they would be sure to find the most convenient way to get Bretz RV there money. We went to Brett Rv in Missoula worst customer service ever would never recommend. We wanted to look at some of their trailers with Thomas Payne furniture because I am going to order new ones and was told they could order them but when I asked how to go look at trailers the girl behind counter was no help she called a salesman named Don over I explained what we wanted to look at he literally told me there might be some in the trailer on their showroom floor and walked away and went and was more worried about looking on his phone! read more

I recently purchased a $40K+ RV from Bretz in Billings. The deal was inclusive that the RV would be delivered to Missoula. I had not seen the RV but from the pictures and email conversations (along with numerous phone talks) I asked for the 3rd time "Does everything on the RV work and is it overall it is in good to excellent condition?" and the salesman responded "Yes the RV is in good condition. We also do a comprehensive pre delivery inspection on the unit making sure things are in good working condition" That was on March 26th and we closed the deal. On 3/27 I emailed the salesman that I needed the unit in Missoula by 4/10, giving them 2 weeks to detail, and deliver. I was then told on 4/7 it could not be delivered when I expected it because of a part. I said I would hang on to the remainder of the paperwork until it was delivered. I immediately got a call from the manager who said if I would send the paperwork they would make it right. They should get the part by Friday or Monday, and they would deliver the RV to my house (150 miles past Missoula) to make it right. They would let me know. On 4/12 I had to contact them via phone and email, because by 11am I had heard nothing...first I talked to salesman, he said the part had been overnighted and he would let me know when the RV could be delivered. Really, why wasn't it overnighted 2 weeks ago! He then had the manager call me to say it could be here by Wednesday 4/15, but with my being upset, she was doing me a great favor by having it delivered to my house, and if I didn't understand that she could just deliver it to Missoula. I said what time would delivery on Wednesday be scheduled because my 2nd Covid shot (over 100 miles round trip to get) is scheduled for then . She knew nothing of rural Montana and places where cell phones don't work. She then hung up on me. My suggestion...do business elsewhere with folks who tell you everything up front, look them in the eyes. to folks like these from Bretz RV in Billings the sale everything...limited follow through required! read more

I bought an Imagine Grand Design from Bretz this spring and the process was great buying. But once you buy the process goes down hill from there. I have a list of items that were warranty items that still have not been fixed. They tell you one thing and do something different. It has been a complete and utter mess dealing with the service desk. They don't reply to emails or phone message. To say the least I am over it. I wish I had never bought from them. If you are planning to buy from Bretz RV in Billings Montana. My word of advice is don't do it. Go else where. read more
