Buck Rub is a great resource for archers; they do a great job fitting bows to the hunting or target archer, and the facility is a great place for family archery. They identified a great bow for my 12 year old grandson, a Bowtech bow that can increase draw weight as he grows. They have done super work for me on my target bow; their tuning and fitting of the bow to the archer is first rate. Service and advice here is very personal; they are all hunters or target archers, and they make you feel very welcome, regardless of level of ability. read more

I've read the reviews, I really don't like people complaining about their labor charges. Do it yourself if you don't want to pay someone else. How do these people think a place pays for all the overhead of a business? I personally have not had any issues if they tell me a price lets say to restring a bow and I don't want to pay that much I do it my self. They have a fairly cheap range to shoot on never did the out side range. Their prices are more than fair. Buy a bow from a big store and then go back with problems wonder were you will get personal help? Not the big store thats for sure. I walk in with my young grandchildren and they make us feel welcome and talk to my young grandkids like they are real people too, never had that at lets say Bass Pro. Or like stores. I'm lucky if they greet me much less my young kids in tow. read more

It's a nice place to go to shoot, if your an experienced archer with a dialed in bow. We thought my youngest son bow needed an arrow rest. I was questioned as to where I got the bow. Unfortunately, I left my girlfriend alone at the service counter. They just threw on a rest - she claims they never showed her the rest they were going to putting on. Apparently, they only stock one arrow rest for left handed bows. As we/she was never asked what kind of style we wanted. To avoid further conflict, she paid them off. The bow shot worst then it did with old arrow rest. When we got home, I took it off the bow - threw it out. Got a arrow rest from a Dunham's, that matches his bow, which seems to work well. read more

They do most well at job. My bow does good shooting at target now. Me did bow tune and they answer questions and did a most great job. Recommended highly. Also, good value of my money and like the selection. read more

This place is awesome. Came in to get my bow tuned, turned out my shop back home didn't know what they were doing. The folks at buck rub fixed everything for a reasonable price, and in my opinion they went above and beyond. I'm thinking about upgrading my bow in the next year. Although I live in Texas now, I plan on flying back to WI to buy it from Buck Rub because they're the best archery shop I know. read more

Came in hoping to buy a new bow but they didn't have what I was looking for. I waited in line for an hour to see if they would help me get sized up as a first time bow purchaser (I've used hand-me-downs for the duration of my 11 year bow hunting career) but I pretty much got cold shouldered and one word responses once I told the guy working I might buy one online. I told him I had no previous experience purchasing a bow and was looking for some guidance from professionals. Although the people there obviously know their stuff, the unpleasantness of this guy really threw me. I fully intended to purchase a bow there if they had what I wanted but the crummy attitude was really uncalled for and unexpected. I took my team of 12 people here for a team-building outing. It was easy to schedule over the phone, and I had a clear understanding of what I was paying for. When we got there we all got an overview of safety and rules, then were given some time to try out and get acclimated to the bows and arrows. They have a cute area with wood chips and a little river inside filled with 'stuffed' animals near and far, big and small. Afterward practicing we were split into teams and pitted against each other. Winners got fun little prizes from the shop. Once we were done shooting we paid $100 for an hour of private use of the lounge area and bar space. No hard liquor or wine, but they had beer and cider available. They had little things like jerky and crackers to munch on, but they do allow carry-in food items. We were a little peeved that the guys coming in for the league early just hung out in the lounge we'd paid for, but they didn't cause any trouble so we let it go. Overall it was something no one had done before, and we all had a lot of fun. Owners were great and staff was fun, knowledgeable and attentive as well. read more

I've been going to buck rub for over a decade. Hands down the best service and expertise I've come across. Arguably the best bow shop in WI. The guys and gals working know their craft. It doesn't matter if you're a new shooter/ hunter or if you've been doing it all your life, everyone is treated with the same respect. I love that nobody wants to gouge you money wise. They want every customer to have the best experience. Buck rub is the only shop in the US that I'll give my business too. 10/10 would recommend to any bow hunter or shooter. brought in a crossbow with a damaged string. sign says $90 hr. labor with minimum 20 min charge ($30). after a quick look at the bow, the repairman answered two phone calls and began to work on the bow. After 10 minute thread repair and 10 minutes on the bowpress to restring, I expected a $30 bill. NOPE: $47 I Got charged $17 for his 10 minutes of phone calls. I will NEVER go back to this shady operation, I don't care how knowledgeable they are! read more

Contacted the vendor and they couldn't understand why the store wouldn't help. Sent them pictures and they are having me ship direct to them so they can fix. Won't go back to Buck Rub, as nice as the range is. Too snobby. I get better service from the local big box stores. read more

I went to this place to get a d-loop install thinking it would be a few dollars. They charge me $35 bucks to replace this. What a load of bull. I could of went to west town archery and maybe get it done for free. On top of that, i wanted to put my draw weight down and was told that i should just keep it. Went in to rekindle the love for archery and left completely satisfied! They helped my wife and I pick out (after trying several) bows, arrows, accessories, and gave us a few tips on shooting. Prices were fair/average for what you would find. We saw a group of grade school children shooting recurves on their indoor range (looked like a school group). A really nice place to sight in your crossbow or compound. They sell a wide variety of archery products and have an indoor range with 3D and standard targets. The range is a bit musty smelling and the targets are well used, but still functional. And the price is nominal, $6 to use the indoor standard targets and $12 to use the 3D. They even have an upper deck which allows for practicing shooting from a tree stand. The outdoor range looks nice also but we didn't try it. The only downside is really the well used range targets and their short hours on weekends. Otherwise a fun, decent place to practice, especially with a crossbow. And they have a small snack stand which seems very reasonably priced. read more

My husband has been having serious issues with his arrows falling off at full draw, this has never happened before and he has been bowhunting for over 35 years. I finally convinced him to make the time to run in to Buck Rub this afternoon to see if they could help. He was so impressed at how quickly they were able to fix the problem and how reasonably priced the help was. They also recommended that as soon as bow season is over he should replace his bow string. It needs time to get broken in and they were completely honest with him about the need to wait. His current string should get him through the season, but then it needs to be replaced. This was a timely decision on his part, as he shot a buck about 2.5 hrs after his visit to Buck Rub... Thanks so much for fixing my husbands bow, after we process tomorrow, we will have some venison in our freezer!! read more

I bought my bow from Buck Rub 3 years and have had nothing but good experiences until this last time in. I dropped off my bow to get a new string and was told I could pick it up when they opened the next day. I arrived and all employees were busy so I waited. I explained that my bow was done and I just needed it handed to me, not any additional service but I was ignored while the employee screwed in practice tips and continued to service someone else's bow. It took 55 minutes to finally hand the bow to me and when I went to pay at the counter the employee had no idea how much a string costs so I waited an additional 15 mins. In the past their policy has been not to service bows on Sunday due to the limited hours but apparently that is no longer being practiced. I'm really disappointed with how I was treated and for wasting my time. I will not be going back, just thought I would warn anyone else out there. read more
