Kevin Nugent the owner is a true entrepreneur. Kevin also owns and operates Milwaukee Steakhouse and Brewskis Sports Bar. So when I say great service, friendly and knowledgeable staff, you begin to understand Kevin knows how to run service types of businesses because look at the success of his steakhouse and sports bar. Shooters Shop has a huge inventory and when asked whether he carries a specific, if not the quick answer is I can get it for you. Details around the various firearms, and pros and cons is amazing. As Andy F stated, most shops will say "no" to anything beyond high sellers. So if you are truly looking for something special or high quality or something specific this is they place. Now some may say the price is high. As my grandfather told me, "it only takes a little more ($) to go first class." Or you have heard, "you get what you pay for". Great service, huge inventory and knowledge is what you get here. We went to their range as well and afterwards Kevin mentioned he is updating the lighting and a few other things. VERY VERY over priced on everything in the store and when you ask why the prices are WAY above MSRP they say "it's what we got em for!" We have the internet we can see when we are being ripped off!! Located close to Fabio, which good but bad. I no like who live close. Staff is very nice, but change a lot so it is hard to know who is who. No know why, staff good, where big tattoo gunsmith go? He wore funny hats... Help me buy taurus G2C in 40, it is nice range toy. Ken was told me it very good gun, made in america, importated from Brasile, and life time warenty. The gun jam a lot unless Fabio is shooting Tulammo, but very dirty and I no like to breath in. This shop is a scam selling 45 ACP Ammo has new Federal ammo just with out the box as it got wet. When I got home and put on my glasses I found the ammo was from 9 different manufactures. The brass also shows signs of reloading. When I called back got to talk with a young person who had little knowledge. He just denied they where reloads but couldn't explain different manufactures bass. Wouldn't let me talk to manager and hung up on me. Never go near this place. I don't mind shooting reloads as I loaded my own for years. But paying $89 for 50 rounds of reloads sold as new is a scam. read more

I took a friend to purchase a firearm and they were very accommodating on making sure he was getting what was right for him. Update!!! HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE place. Avoid at all costs. The selection of guns is decent at best, but there's nothing you couldn't find cheaper online. No custom work from what I saw, literally nothing worth going into the shop to look at. The range is decent, but the prices are pretty crazy high $20+ a person for an hour at the range. Ridiculous. The prices on ammo are INSANE. I paid twice as much here for target ammo and self defense ammo than I'd have paid at ANY other shop. Absolutely insane. Their customer service is atrocious. The employees and owner are arrogant and obnoxious. They're rude and disrespectful. They don't answer questions and they treat you like you're an idiot. I'm also currently disputing a $100.32 dollar transfer fee that I had to pay here. I've never, ever...in my life...even heard of anyone paying over $50. I've personally only ever paid $35. $100.32 is criminal. Don't ever go to this shop, there is absolutely nothing here for you. Update: I won my dispute against The Shooter Shop. My discussion with my bank afterwards was brief. They told me the transfer was processed incorrectly and The Shop could not explain where the "excess fee" came from. Now, there are only two explanations: 1) The employees here are so stupid they can't handle a simple gun transfer 2) This business is run by con men that attempt to prey on people that don't know any better My money is on both. read more

I ordered a Kimber gun in June 2020 that I was required to pay upfront (over $1,000) and I was told it could take up to a year to get the gun. I called them several times between time of purchase and June 2021 and not once could they tell me when I was getting my gun. I was treated on the phone poorly when calling in to get some idea as to when I expect my gun; I was treated like an "inconvenience" and they even got mad at me, despite never offering me or initiating any concessions for this extremely late order that was now over a year old. They still keep taking customers orders and payments for Kimber guns knowing full well that they have NO CLUE when, if ever, they can deliver product to you the buyer. They just want to take your money! I would not recommend them. I finally got my money back and they were very unpleasant during the process. read more

HORRIBLE! 1) Ventilation - they had a large fan going to dissipate the clouds produced from only several rounds of 9mm. Clearly indicating their ventilation is not up to the task of exchanging the air in the small space. Never seen that at any range. 2) Range Fees - the highest I've ever seen even at new facilities and I am from California. $20/hr per person even when sharing a lane?? No wonder the place was empty. They tried to soften the blow by saying the ear/eye protection would be no charge (it's always free!) 3) Rental guns - selection was small but had the typical popular brands. No 1911s and just a few revolvers. 4) Ammo - this was the real kicker and what ultimately sparked me to write the review. It's commonplace for ranges to require the use of house ammo, and it's typically over-priced but not 100% over RETAIL. The counter guy stuck us with 50rds of CBC Magtech for $28!!!!!!! His claim was that he can't afford to buy pallets like the big box stores. Cry me a river...a pallet of 50k rounds can buy bought for $8000 retail...even less wholesale. Good thing I stopped by Gander before going and loaded my pockets with Blazer Brass! read more

OK selection on firearms, staff knowledgeable but again, like other gun stores, seem to be bothered by customers asking them questions. Isn't that what CUSTOMER service is all about? The ranges are poor and need some serious upgrades - especially for the ventilation system - not worth the price folks - I'd pass - I actually did. I bought a firearm here. The experience was horrible. The representative first told me he could not sell me the gun because I was from Illinois. Then after I had to educate the store clerk that the firearm just had to be transported to a local Illinois gun shop, the transaction went forward. I was assured that the firearm I purchased would be driven to Five Star Shooting Range , but the owner shipped the gun via fed ex...now when I the firearm was tracked on fed ex website , a label was created, but the package cannot be located. This could have all been avoided if what was promised (firearm would be driven to five star to assure delivery). I was lied to and now I am stuck wondering where my purchase is and when I will receive what I paid for; I would not recommend using shooters at all. read more

Good selection, pricing fluctuates with the market. Had some work done, finished in 48 hrs. Adam is the very best in CC and hand gun safety. Mention the shop to friends, they immediately blurt out his name as a great instructor they had! Range may be pricey, but there are deals almost every day. ( Vets half price Monday etc.) I usually negotiate with the owner a cash " out the door" price on high end firearms and save 10%. read more

Love this place I go shooting here regularly and the people that work here are great. When you go to other places that are close by and you don't feel welcomed at all but here I always do. Not a lot of lanes so when it's busy it's busy but that shows it's a good place to let out some steam and exercise your weapon. read more

This was my first time going to an indoor gun range. I had bought a 9mm carry handgun and I needed to shoot the thing for a while to test it out. My buddy and I decided to go to an indoor range fairly close by and he said he already went to Shooter's Shop four years ago. Despite with the bad reviews we still went and I gotta say, they were awesome. Coming in they asked how they can help us and we asked if we can use their range. They happily helped us to sign and pay for an hour of range time, which is $20. They even threw in a free paper target for our smaller targets which was nice of them. They explained the rules and how they operate. Really great people and if you want to rent a gun it's only $10 + their ammo. The range itself goes up to 30 feet so it's not the largest but you can definitely shoot pistols and slugs well there. After we shot and cleaned for our hour we went upstairs and we browsed the guns they had. We had awesome customer service from a worker named Theo ( I hope I spelled that right) and we held and tried a few guns they had on display. Overall me and my buddy had a great time! Will be returning 100%. read more

The people are nice. I came to this place because Fletchers did not let my brother and I shoot because we had no void. I read the reviews on my way to this place and I thought we were going to have a bad time, but that was not the case. Could they have more guns? Yes! Could their price drop a bit? FUCK yeah. Walked in to their shop to use the range today. Not only did they raise the price from $15 to $20 to use the range, but they wanted to charge me $41.99 for 50rds of 9mm. All of their employees get irritated when you ask any gun related questions (except the red head, I believe his name is Eric??? This guy clearly enjoys his job and enjoys educating customers). Their range is old, dark, and beat to h***. The only thing this place has going for it... Only local shop that is Class 3 I walked out, drove 5min down the road to brewcityshootersupply.com $19.99 for a box of 50 and $15 to use the range (must be a member) extremely friendly. On more than 1 occasion, they have let me shoot their person firearms, and have helped me dismantle, fix, and clean one of my very old pistols... For Free Fletcher arms in Waukesha is also a very friendly inviting place to shoot. They also don't gouge prices on ammo when they have it. Sorry folks, but this is not a great place. I'm visiting Milwaukee on business and stopped in to do a bit of shooting. As we all know, in this market .22 is tough to find - these guys had it. But they're charging $49.99 for 100 rounds of CCI mini mag... I'm quite familiar with capitalism, and in most cases am a fan of it. These guys are gouging customers and it's not right. I inquired as to the price, and the guy behind the counter gave me attitude. He asked, "Where have you been?" I had a quick reply, but chose against responding. Most of us know what the going rate is for ammunition, and obviously this price is obscene. For reasonable prices on ammunition and firearms, as well as courteous staff, visit Brew City, just a bit east of The Shooters Shop. read more

Don't go!!! I just finished shooting there and I was hit by a ricochet. The owner then said that it was my fault and blamed me, he would not give me my money back. Not only that but I had to change lanes prior to that because my 9mm nocked down part of the backstop. read more

I went to Shooters Shop a few times and never had a good experience. First of all, the prices are high for the use of such a small, aging range. $20.00 per hour PER PERSON even if you share 1 lane, plus the targets. My first time there I was hit with a ricochet hard. The last time I was there I tried to buy ammo for my 44 mag DE-mine was defective, and was told that I am not allowed to shoot 44 Mag! I told the guy that is all I have ever shot there, and was told again, that it was not allowed. I had to end my $25 shooting session after 15 minutes without a refund because of this "rule" When I got home I went on their website and read this: "Calibers larger than .44 magnum must be frag ammo." I called during their normal business hours for clarification, got their answering machine and was forced to leave a message, and, of course, they never called back. Overpriced, the employees will contradict their published policies, and their customer service is horrendous. read more

Be prepared to be bent over with no lube. You will overpay and not be able to order cheaper items. Will they give you the best deal "nope". It's almost like you are suppose to throw hundreds at them and be grateful in doing it. Do yourself a favor & order better deals from online store send it to a ffl dealer other than this shop. Then to deal with the hit or miss staff overpriced range/ ammo and inventory that never changes. Entire business model needs to change overnight or competitors come in . This place has many bad reviews and I can see some valid points, but most are over blown. I have come to the shooters shop maybe 15 times in close to 10 years. I stop in mainly to use the indoor range. They have more recently upgraded the target return systems, from the supper old broken stuff they once had. The range is on the small side and can get very busy depending when you go. I don't think 20 bucks an hour is even slightly outrageous, as one person has said.. I've paid alot more for alot less. The staff has never been anything other then professional and helpful to me. The ammo is slightly overpriced if you compare to online sources, but no more so then gander mountain. Gun prices can be somewhat high, and I've never bought one from them for that reason, and no other. They do have alot of cool hard to get items, that you might not see anywhere else. To the reviews comparing online gun sales they never account for shipping and transfer fees. In any case, I love the range and will be back. The gun rental option is awesome. They have so much you can try before you buy and can really save you some cash in the long run. Give em a chance before you take some of these reviews to heart. read more
