While on some of the stuff (such as the ham that could be warmed up a little more when they heat it up) could be a bit better, this casual little place has the best croissants I've ever found in the area. The service absolutely sucks. Not only did I stand in a relatively short line for half an hour, but it was also just poorly done. I finally got to the front of the line, and just stood at the register while the lady wrote on receipts and completely ignored me. After she finally acknowledged me, and I ordered and paid, I was looking at the card reader for some kind of prompt and it never came. I looked up, and the lady just says, "that's it." No receipt, or anything. And then I was left wondering how tf I was standing in line that long if my interaction was so quick and I got a number!? There were other people working there, but nobody seemed to feel any need to pick up the pace with the line that was now out the door. And the food was alright. Recently received a delicious Almond Croissant for breakfast at 7:00 A.M. in the morning. It was a piece of perfection. So I rushed to Nanou Bakery on Ocean Blvd the next morning to have another. On the positive side, I like the setting, atmosphere of the place. Also, friendliness of the staff. On the negative side, prices are on the high side. Worse case example is the Avocado Toast that doesn't come with eggs, making the price not competitive. Every place I have previously been offers eggs with Avocado toast. read more

The food was very good, however if I can make a request to the owner, please don't use plastic cups for hot beverages, it leaks out nanoparticles of plastics and the coffee/drink tastes bad, and is also very unhealthy! For cold drinks it's fine. read more

Stopped at this adorable cafe this morning on my way out of town. Got the Nanouccino and Nutella croissant (which they made fresh for my order). Both were UNREAL, the croissant had so much Nutella and was so light and flaky. The coffee was unique and delicious and had a thick whipped cream topping that they give you a spoon for. The staff and owner were so super friendly, can't wait to stop again on my next visit. If you haven't been here, give it a try!! read more

Highly recommended! Everything about this restaurant is amazing from service to entrees to aesthetic. I ordered the custom omelet with a caramel latte which was served gorgeously. It was so delicious that I had to come back the next day - I got the avocado toast and the almond croissant. Again, absolutely superb. In addition to the fine dining, service is an 11/10. This is Nanou. Just like the one on Las Olas. Call ahead and see if they have any interest in having customers. We stood at the counter watching every one of them converse in the kitchen. We really enjoyed this cafe on a recent trip. There was outdoor seating in the next to a parking lot, was more inviting than you'd expect. What really stood out was the people who worked there - every single person was friendly and seemed to make our simple breakfast and coffee enjoyable. The coffee and tea was decent (I can be really picky about my coffee!). It was better than the other places I tried in the area. We ordered quiche but it was too early in the morning and therefore was still in the oven baking....so we opted to wait about 15 minutes for it - which was definitely the right choice! it was delicious! Plus it meant trying the croissant in the meantime, which was perfectly flaky and buttery. I would definitely return next time I am in town! read more

This food was so bad it's not even funny. They charge $12 for a ham and cheese sandwich and the delivery took over an hour. The sandwich tasted like week old bread with soggy sauce slapped on top. Also ordered a crepe which arrived sitting in a pool of condensation and was totally stale. Also tasted like it had been made the day before and they just threw it in a microwave. We got spoiled by the most amazing croissants from Tartine in San Francisco, so when we moved to Fort Lauderdale one of our first pursuits was finding a replacement. We covered every reviewed spot in Fort Lauderdale and were consistently disappointed by soft exteriors and mushy interiors; none of the crispy, shattering crust and airy interior that we were seeking. Today we finally made it to Nanou, and their newest location on the Galt. We ordered to-go and I opened the bag as soon as I got in the car, just for a quick peek and a test. Yay! Perfection! A REAL French croissant exists in Fort Lauderdale! Took them home and gobbled them down. Crisp and flaky on the outside, warm and airy on the inside. Buttery heaven.
