I came for a magical brunch experience and left wondering if I accidentally joined a scavenger hunt with snacks. Let me explain. After seeing the hype for The Alchemist Cafe, I was ready for greatness. 4.5 stars, thousands of reviews, the kind of place that makes you text people "this might be the one." We even booked the gazebo. Romantic. Intentional. Main character energy. We walk in... and immediately lose the plot. No host. No stand. No direction. Just vibes and confusion. Turns out this is a "figure it out yourself" brunch. Order at the counter, grab a number, and go hunt for a table like it's brunch meets musical chairs. Which raises a very fair question: why are we taking reservations for a system built on chaos? Anyway. We commit. The setting? Genuinely awesome. Feels like you stumbled into a tropical hideout where your phone magically loses signal and your responsibilities politely wait outside. We head to the gazebo, sit down... and the table is sticky. Not "maybe it's just humid" sticky. No. This table has stories. We try a second table. Same situation. Eventually relocate near a rooster on the patio, which honestly felt like the most organized part of the experience. Food time. We ordered the chef's special. A tater tot waffle with avocado and pulled pork. Sounds like something that should change your life. Reality? It shook my hand and said nice to meet you. It was good. Not bad. Just... average in a place that promised fireworks. We also got the fruit waffle since chicken and waffles apparently exist more as a suggestion than an actual menu item. The waffle itself? Tough. Rubbery. Fighting back a little. The fruit though? Absolute star. Fresh, bright, doing everything it could to save the plate like a heroic supporting actor. Drinks showed up and tried to steal the show. The iced tea and açaí iced tea were both legit. Unique, refreshing, the kind of drinks you wish everything else had matched. And I'll say this clearly. The staff? Fantastic. Friendly, kind, patient with the organized chaos. No notes there. But here's the thing. When a place builds this much hype, you don't expect to spend half your time wondering how the system works and the other half wiping down your own table in spirit. I wanted to love it. I really did. Instead, it felt like a beautiful setting wrapped around a very average brunch with a confusing game plan. Three stars. I'd go 3.5 if Yelp let me tip for vibes alone.

This place is really magical. Food is super fresh and yummy. Service is a bit impersonal as you order on your own and it's brought to you. Food runners were not the most helpful on my visit. Condiments are self serve in packages placed around the dining areas inside and outside. I had the Chef's Breakfast which is a hash brown waffle topped with two fried eggs, avocado salad (literally mashed avocado with pico mixed) and bacon bits. Super filling and yummy yet light. I also got an Oreo iced coffee to go and it was a delicious treat! There is a cool courtyard with another restaurant next door and an older warehouse behind that with resellers of homewares, odds and ends and an incredible record store to rummage through with some very amazing and rare finds called Vinyl Locoz. Overall a great local experience, I am grateful my friend invited me.

Chef's Breakfast. Tater Tot waffle with eggs, avocado, bacon and Pico de Gallo.

The genuinely kind greetings from the owner and the warm interactions with her servers immediately placed this restaurant at the top of the charts. I opted for the Chef's Breakfast. A unique and delicious combo of a Tater Tot waffle with eggs, avocado, bacon and Pico de Gallo. The drip coffee was rich and flavorful. Since I shamelessly mentioned that it was my actual birthday, I was treated to a song from the staff and a scrumptious dessert. An apple and nut pocket pastry with blueberries and strawberries. Simply awesome. The restaurant is in a comfortable and peaceful garden setting. I have travelled the world and The Alchemist hit all of the right notes. Thank you for a wonderful birthday!

Loved it! Great outdoor and indoor space. Iced coffee with coffee ice cubes was fun. Delightful brunch options with a variety of open faced slices options. Service was excellent with lovely staff. Our dogs loved it too.

I got a quick bite for breakfast and this place hit the spot. The smoked salmon open faced sandwich was refreshing and you could taste the quality. It was fresh cheese spread and hearty portions of smoked salmon. Outdoor seating which was awesome for a morning meal. Service was great! Really unique spot.

Nice spot in Miami. Love the decor and nature. It felt really peaceful having brunch here. Service was fast and the pizza's were really good. I will love to come back in a future trip to FL.

The Alchemist has been my favorite café in South Florida for over 10 years, and I still love it just as much as the very first time I visited. The vibe is always amazing with its beautiful garden setup and all the greenery around. I enjoy sitting outside. It feels so peaceful and relaxing makes. I also love that they switch up their decorations, so there's always something fresh to see each time I come. I usually order the Alchemist iced coffee paired with the melted Brie. This place is pet friendly. I used to bring my little four-legged daughter here, and she loved it just as much as I did. Over the years, The Alchemist has become more than just a café for me, it's a tradition and a place I never get tired of.

It was okay. Vibe was cool And I enjoyed my coffee but the food was just alright and too expensive for brunch food to just be okay. Loved that there was a cat and a rooster just walking around though lol

I've heard great things about Alchemist forever and finally got around to trying it. I absolutely love their outside, it's like being in a private garden. So much seating with a ton of fans and shade. I love how they promote dog adoptions too. I ordered an iced caramel latte which was delicious and made so fast. The employees were friendly and they have a huge menu with so many different drinks and food to order. They share the spot with other food vendors which I can't wait to come back and try everything there.

The coffee is really good here. I really enjoyed my cold brew. The ambiance of the outdoor seating is absolutely breathtaking. The rainbow trees were so gorgeous and it is just a nice place to enjoy a bite and a good cup of coffee. I got avocado toast, the sourdough was delicious and it was loaded up with avocado. The staff was helpful and nice.

Let me start with what I liked: the hashbrown waffle. It was thick, crispy, and filling. The avocado on top was fresh but lacked flavor, and the eggs were fried hard--which I don't prefer. Next time, I'll clarify how I want my eggs cooked. For breakfast food, I think the prices are on the higher side, though the area may play a role in that. One major drawback: there's no A/C inside. With the Florida heat and humidity, it was uncomfortably hot. The setup gave me "shack-like café" vibes--bathroom located outside, fans instead of air conditioning, and wooden seating that wasn't particularly comfortable. If I were abroad, this would make sense, but in Florida? In this heat? No thanks. I'd come back, but only for takeout. They do offer vegan donuts from a local vendor, but I didn't care for them--the texture was more like cake than the soft, doughy texture of a traditional donut. One more note: the self-serve water container is kept outside, which isn't ideal. For safety and hygiene, it should be kept inside near the kitchen so staff can monitor it--otherwise, anyone could tamper with it.

Where's the best place to park?

They have a private lot located to the left of the establishment.

Do they have gluten free bread as an option?

Yes! You can substitute their Tuscan bread for gluten free bagel or gluten free bread for $1.00 more.

Is it cool to sit and do work for a while? Does the WiFi work outside? Thanks!

Yes actually! Great shady outdoor and WIFI worked okay for me

For breakfast do they have anyttpe of yogurt or oatmeal?

    They have yogurt!

Do they sell bags of coffee beans?

    They do :)

    Yes you can :)

The nook area is called "Lola's Market".

    Is the patio dog-friendly?

Yes it is! I bring mine all the time
