Been there a few times and great experience each time I visited. Food and atmosphere are great.

We came here on a Saturday night for dinner. There was a good amount of people but it wasn't busy. They had lots of TVs on playing the hockey game. The service was a bit slow in the beginning, we had to wait a while to place our orders. But we had no issues after that and the staff was friendly. The menu consists of what you would expect from a pub. We ordered breaded mushrooms to start and they came out really hot! They were okay but we probably wouldn't order them next time. Our last 2 visits at Brewery Bay have been DISAPPOINTING. Our recent visit we arrived prior to 5:30, ordered a little after 5:30. Thought we had left lots of time for our 7pm show at the Opera House. Busy restaurant with patio. We were seated in a booth indoors. Really like our seating. Service was good in spite of the rush. I had fish tacos with beet salad substituted for fries. Had dinner in March 2022 Apps and beer came right away. was ok, what to be expected. Server said we should order mains now as they are getting full and very short staffed? 55 minutes later my wife's food finally came, minutes later my main arrived stone fridge cold! Asked server to redo she said right away, 22 minutes later still no redo on my main order? Asked server for the bill stating we're done... She said its coming out now, I said we're leaving now! I understand post pandemic its hard to maintain full staff BUT please THEN do not take on MORE customers than you can serve in a timely manner just for the bottom line. This place was always full in the summertime especially the large patio, so I was compelled to try it , my mistake. (IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE) Downtown Orillia is going through a transformation from Old school standard fair to new Millennial driven clientele. From Artisan Cheese stores to Craft Breweries This town is beginning to Understand that the summer crowd especially the boating crowd, would prefer to dine in more upscale at least updated establishments and not have to pass by the less appealing seedier aspect of Old Mississauga street. I felt like hitting a pub for supper so I headed to the Brewery Bay Food Company which is just a couple blocks from my hotel. It's a cute place. There is a restaurant on one side and a bar on the other ... I sat on the bar side. According to the menu, the wings are "terrific" ... I decided to check them out. I ordered them with medium sauce ... Kira, my server, said she found medium too spicy. I usually like wings with hot sauce. For $11.97, it was a good portion. The wings were fairly large, as promised. The fries were good. The wings were okay. I don't like wings with breading so wouldn't consider them "terrific". Plus there wasn't a lot of sauce on them. Kira was very friendly and took good care of me. The manager came by at one point and asked me how everything was. read more

Situated right in the main street of Orillia, there is a beautiful indoor dining room, and a large outside front patio. Our server was pleasant and efficient. The Caesar cocktail was very well prepared. The menu is large, with more of a pub food fare, with some options for salads, and a couple of entrees. The wings were well prepared: crispy and not greasy. The Rosè Cappeletti pasta had a good mild flavor, yet a little too much melted cheese on it. Pizza is thin crust and crispy. read more

I came here last night with my parents, both of which don't drink but luckily there was a bar side and a restaurant side to this place. We arrived at 4:30 as the place was just starting to pick up but the service was welcoming and friendly throughout our time there. When I think of Orillia in general; it has that laid back cottage town atmosphere and Brewery Bay seems to know their target market. The decor is slightly rustic and the booths are rather large and spacious - so it is perfect for larger groups. I ordered the pitachos (fried pita chips with the classic nacho fixings) and those were really good. Both of my parents ordered meals rather than bar food and were not too pleased with their food. Conclusion, if you're looking for a laid back place to hang out after a hockey game than Brewery Bay is great! I would say you're safe to order the bar type food and stear clear of the restaurant type food. read more

Went here based on so many of my friend's recommendations. I was not disappointed. I sat on the bar side and had a Creemore Springs lager. I would have liked to see more of the microbrews on tap and not just the big brands. I went at lunchtime and ordered the 1 lb wings I was offered 2 extra wings instead of fries.(Bartender must have read my mind) I went with the dry Cajun. Just spicy enough for me and big juicy and piping hot, Very friendly staff, excellent wings and the tunes (Asia, Wings, Scorpions, Journey etc.) was perfect. read more

The wait staff was really great and pleasant, the food was not. My wife's sandwich was a chicken thigh flattened with the fat not removed. The coating slid off the meat onto the plate. My toasted Club sandwich was quartered and the slice of bacon and sliver of meat was barely visible. My Poutine fries were good and hot as was the gravy BUT they were not cheese curds. read more

If I could give NO stars I would, however the server wasn't completely horrible so I suppose they deserve one star for that. Went for Dinner last night (Wednesday) so it wasn't overly busy and I had to ask someone if they could clear a table so we could sit down. The server was friendly enough but we had to wait what seemed like forever to get our food. The bruschetta was OK - nothing to rave about and I ordered their "signature dish" Chicken Parm for dinner with fettuccine alfredo. The noodles were undercooked and drowning in alfredo sauce. The chicken was the most disgusting thing I can imagine. A flattened piece of meat, you could not only taste the freezer burn on it but it looked (and tasted) like it had been cooked the day before and then just reheated in the oven. The sauce on the chicken was hard and burnt. not sure how you even even manage to do that. without any alcohol the meal was still over $40. Needless to say it was my first and last trip to this place. Disgusting food and completely over priced. read more

I find myself here every single time I come to Orillia. It seems to be the go-to place for my husband's crew and he always runs into people he knows there. The atmosphere is friendly and fun. There's tons of booths and large seating, which is great because it seems that everyone is there in groups of 6 or more. I'm thinking that most of the people there are regulars, as there is a rotating rack of 100 or so personalized beer steins above the bar that people can use. We very rarely order any food there, so I can't really speak to the quality, but the service is great, the beer is cold and I always have a great time. read more

We came here as a family during this past summer based on the reviews here on Yelp. While the service was good and we were served in good time, which is important with young kids, the food assured that we would not be back. Came here after reading good review and wasn't disappointed at all. Staff were nice even though we arrived at the busiest time as a big group and requested patio seating, they did their best to accommodate our request and treated us professionally. The food was superb. Everything I had was just beyond my expectation. Pizza crust was soft kind which I usually do not prefer, but theirs was heavenly delicious. The best thing was the onion ring. This place is a fairly decent pub. Service is slow. Glacially slow. We sat for about fifteen minutes while our eventual server chatted with her friends/regulars. When she did finally come to our table to take our drink orders, there was no acknowledgment of the fact that she made us wait a pretty long time while she chit-chatted. The food was okay. Onions were not cooked through and the cheese was tasteless, croutons? The waitress asked how was it? Then grabbed the bowl off the table and slipped away before I could answer. We ordered burgers Firecracker, turkey, the kitchen sink. Poutine. Turkey burger was more bread than turkey like tasteless dressing fried . Fire cracker was good but like the kitchen sink the beef was dry and tasteless. Poutine was gross . Not real cheese curds and the gravy was bland and lumpy.fries tasted like burnt oil. Bacon and cheese missing in one burger and lettuce comes underneath the burger dripping wet and soggy. So....it's not a burger place . We will be back but next time to try something different . It was in early 2018 when we went and I don't know why I didn't finish my review. However it was good food. The Caesar salad was very good with creamy, garlic dressing and real bacon. Brewery Bay deserves 5 stars from me. It's my favourite place in Orillia to go for a pint or a pitcher of beer and some great food. The service is always great and I've never had to wait long for my order. One of my favourite meals is their poutine mixed with strips of chicken and curry flavoured gravy. In the summer, if you're lucky, you can find a prime spot on the outdoor patio. It can get busy at times but worth the wait for a table when it is. read more

We had reviewed this restaurant on-line before deciding to go here on our second visit, prior to going to the casino. It is definitely more of a pub, but the décor is nice but not overly new. It was clean, although the bathrooms could use some work. Another place where you have to go downstairs to get to the washroom. Our hostess who seated us decided to sit us across from the only large table of almost 20 people rather than sit us at one of the many other tables available. Luckily our server was smart enough to ask if we wanted to sit somewhere else where it was not going to be as loud, and we were glad to have been given the option. It took us a while to decide, and the server was very patient with us after having come back a couple of times. We decided to go with a grilled cheese sandwich and instead of an appetizer got something called "Pitachos" which are kind of like nacho's, but done on baked pita chips. They were quite nice, but a little expensive for what you got. Our grilled cheese was very good, and came with a nice little relish to go along with it. Overall, this wasn't a bad place. We would definitely go here again when we get up there late at night, but not sure it would be our "go to" place in the future. Brewery Bay has great service at the door and at the table. Make sure to stop by early as the restaurant fills up very quick around dinner time. Be prepared to wait for a table. I had the chicken wings/fries, and must say you get a good portion for a reasonable price and the wings are a good size. The rest of the menu seemed reasonably priced as well, and the only downside was to my memory the drink menu wasn't that expansive. However, having a family-feel the last point can be overlooked. Located in the heart of Orillias downtown main street, close to the Mariposa Market. Such good food here and the service was great. The value for money is also very good. The place has a nice look and feel, with a nice patio out front. The menu is massive, so there is sure to be something for everyone, as well as vegetarian options.
