The space is cool, I wasn't expecting them to have outdoor seating in the back so the place is bigger than you'd expect and there's a lot of heating lamps around in case you're cold. Their menu offers a few options in each category along with a separate menu with their Fall offerings and then their drinks menu. Their staff was friendly and welcoming and quick to assist with whatever inquiries our group had. We never felt ignored despite being a bigger party. I will say where it fell flat was the food and the drinks, to be honest. My husband tried 2 different kinds of beer and while 1 tasted okay, the other was not his taste so he left it. I opted for their seasonal pasta and it was so lemony to the point that it wasn't refreshing, it was just sour. Their buffalo cauliflower looks good, but I'd skip the buffalo sauce and opt for ranch instead. Overall, I appreciate the staff for being attentive and the bathrooms for being clean, but the food and drinks should've shined and they didn't.

Stumbled upon this cute bar while we were doing our bar hopping on Saturday evening. Beautiful day, great vibes. We dropped by for some drinks and found out they had a beer garden in the back. Super cute and definitely a must see! They have games and long bar tables out back too and if the weather is beautiful, I recommend dining outside! The home made root beer pairs SO well with their pretzel and beer cheese! It was such a nice little snack while chatting and just hanging out. Our waitress was helpful and attentive as well! Even seated immediately before it got really busy. Great spot to check out and would definitely come back since the food looked good. IG: @ammysalamii

This place has some stuff going for it, but falls flat in other crucial areas. The location is nice, its easy to spot, and its a really well appropriated place. I appreciate that they have a dozen dragon statues and art pieces in the dining room to stay on brand. Our server, Angela, was attentive, and pleasant. Chatty without being overbearing, and answered all my questions. I ordered three beers. The first was the Reddy or Not, which was really good! It's a little more bitter than red ales I usually like but it eases up on the palate a lot very quickly. I would get it again. The cider on rotation was a Made Marion blackberry cider which was excellent. It had a faint mead like taste, and strong berry notes that set it apart from apple ciders. Id definitely drink this one again. The third was the Tangerine Cream, and it conversely was awful. It starts off with almost no flavor at all, and finishes bitter and almost polleny. I would not order this one again. I wish I'd ended on a different beer. The appetizer sampler came with quite a few items. The jalapeño poppers were tasty though slightly over fried, just by 20 seconds or so. I wish they'd been just a little lighter, but the flavor was really good. The chicken strips were just chicken strips but they were a great vessel for the three sauces: the bbq sauce here is very good, sweet and tangy, thick like a Kansas city style bbq sauce. The dragon sauce is also tasty, with a little hint of spice that was not overwhelming. The ranch was ranch, but it was a good ranch! Also on the sampler were the mozzarella sticks, which were the ideal for a mozzarella stick. They were big, hearty, and fresh. My cheese pulled across the table. The dragon eggs were the most unique item on the plate, its like a meatball, with cheese in the middle, beer battered and fried. It was good, but a little scrawny. I could have stood a little more heartiness here. Finally, the buffalo wings were kind of a star on the plate, and I don't usually like buffalo sauce. It wasn't overwhelmingly vinegary or spicy. Paired with the ranch, the wings were excellent. Also ordered the pretzel and cheese app, and it was an A+. Soft, chewy, warm pretzel with flaky salt, and a gooey spicy cheese dip. I'd order a round of these for the table if I came with a group. I ordered a bbq burger, with onion rings, and I regret to say I have less nice things to say about it. The burger came with bacon, bbq sauce, and an onion ring, but somewhere in it all of the potential flavor just gets lost. There wasn't enough sauce on it to taste like bbq. The onion rings were greasy, and tasted oily. The bacon was plentiful but tasted cheap, and overcooked. I was highly disappointed in the burger. I would not order another burger or sandwich from here. The chefs special menu looked much more interesting, and I regret not ordering from it. I would come back to try the chefs specials. All in all, this is a cute date night spot or a nice place to beer with the boys. The staff is all pleasant, and they even have a bar game called Singo that they do every so often, though I overheard it was going to be 80's hair metal themed and thought that sounded pretty lame, so I didn't hang around for it. Another theme might entice me to get another brew and hang out, but hair bands are wildly played out in 2025.

It's been years since I've been to the Downtown Newhall area, so it was nice to see so many new restaurants in the area - Brewery Draconum being one of them. Love the more laid back, relaxed vibe. Definitely gets loud when it's crowded, but it's more from everyone talking and having a good time vs a rowdy venue. Decent number of tables inside as well as good bar seating. It was freezing and pouring rain outside, but still plenty warm inside. They had a good beer selection - both from their own brewery as well as from guest rotations. I was surprised by how large the menu was - usually when I go to breweries their menu is a bit more limited, but there were plenty of options here. Their Deluxe Grilled Cheese sandwich was pretty tasty - the tomato and the prosciutto added such delicious flavor and really brought the standard grilled cheese to the next level. Their Buffalo Chicken Wrap and Dragon Burger were also good options. A bit disappointed in the fries, though - seemed a bit flavorless when they could have really complimented the food. A bit pricier here - the grilled cheese was $18.50 while the burger was $21. Food was good, but the prices seemed a tad bit high. There is some street parking, but there is also a free parking garage less than a block away. Made for really easy parking. Definitely down to come back for a beer and some appetizers. As I said, the food seemed a bit pricier so wouldn't be my first choice for food. Great for a stop with friends!

Stopped in for drinks and dessert while waiting for our movie. We were told in advance that they do last call for the bar and kitchen 1/2 hour before close. Friendly service! Loved the rich bread pudding paired with the Mexican Lager and Hibiscus Cider. Very laid back, casual vibe and the outdoor beer garden was recently remodeled we heard.

Bar area.. plenty of seating inside.

Ask the Community - Brewery Draconum

    What time is happy hour?

    Wednesday through Friday 12-5pm

Is there a menu with prices for the beer and a flight? Trying to settle a split check with friends. We didn't take a picture of the itemized receipt. Thank you!

No worries, our pints range from $8-9, unless it’s happy hour they are $7 or $8. Flights are by the pour, and range from $3-4 per 5 oz pour. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. We can send you an itemized if needed. Cheers.

Can any growler be filled or only draconum growlers?

We can fill any growler. So long as it has a lid and is sealable.

    Is there a kids menu?

Yes there is. It includes grilled cheese sandwich, beef sliders, fish and chips, pasta with butter and hot dog. Each item comes with a side of fries, chips or carrot and celery sticks. Cheers!

    Do they have Kölsch?

We do have a dry-hopped kölsch, called Melonkölschy, which we brew seasonally. It is expected to return in the Spring time. Thank you!

Do you have to show id in order to play games?

While we do not have age restrictions on our games, we do ask that adults check them out to ensure proper supervision of children. We only ask for an ID to check out the games to insure that all the pieces are returned.

    Do they have Dodgers game?

Yes. They have spectrum, so they have that channel that plays all the games

Do they have a Happy Hour menu?

There is happy hour all day on Sundays, and from 3-6pm on Mondays and Thursdays. And then sometimes there are added hours based on sporting events/schedules.

    Are dogs allowed?

Just called to ask this very question- only service animals.

Is it family friendly or 21 and over only?

Very family friendly with games like bocce and cornhole in the back patio. There's even a picnic table for kids in the back.

The street front seating and building architecture is very appealing and welcoming. As you enter the main doors, you are greeting by friendly staff. We were offered any open seating, we decided to take a table against the back wall that was adjacent to the entry. The decor inside is very rustic with a touch of micro brewery, the ceiling has many tap handles that adorn the ceiling. The menu and food, we were initially drawn into the Refinery since they seem to be the only spot that offered Brunch and Mimosas in the downtown street. Key point of clarification, the Mimosas are simi bottomless (you have 90 min) to pour down, some of us really like Mimosas, plus the price was just slightly higher that we typically expect at 27, per person. Were they good, yes, so we decided to go with one Mimosa and an Old Fashion drink, it was very well done, Buffalo Trace Bourbon. We ordered from the Brunch menu, the Steak and Eggs, cooked to your liking, they did a great job on both, the one item that we were less impressed with were the overcooked Oreda looking potatoes that accompanied the meals. We also ordered the Cacio e Pepe Beni, Prosciutto, perfect poached eggs and all of the other fixings, it was great testing and the presentation was amazing. As far as my overall rating I could not give it a 5 star due to what other customers have shared in their reviews, the wait staff is not timely, almost forced friendly and possibly just lacking some restaurant experience, they did not come around or notice things like empty water glasses and a few other things, could have been understaffed possibly on this day. Overall I would still recommend the Refinery due to the location, atmosphere, drinks and main dish prep. Thank you for providing a break from reality during a very trying time in our family.

Lovely spot for drinks and dinner in Santa Clarita…read more I was in the area running errands and decided to grab dinner nearby on a Thusday evening around 6:30 pm. I found this place on Yelp and dropped by for dinner. My party of 2 was seated immediately. Personally I thought the menus were hard to read. The gray lines in the background were quite dark and clashed with the actual menu items. My suggestion to the restaurant would be to reprint the menus with lighter background. They have an extensive cocktail menu with a lot of gin-based drinks. They also have good selection of wine and NA drinks as well, including some mocktails. I got the I'm Driving mocktail ($13), which I really liked. It had good passion fruit flavor without being too sour. Felt like a really nice tropical juice. My friend really liked his drink Bramblin' Man ($17), which had strong notes of bourbon and blackberry. I wasn't super hungry, but the braised short rib looked amazing so I got that for $43. It was very tender, but I personally found it bland especially on the inside. I asked for additional sauce so I could drench each bite in the sauce. My favorite part of the plate was surprisingly the potato croquette, which was perfectly crispy and well flavored. My friend got the chicken club ($23), which he enjoyed. I stole a bunch of his seasoned fries since they were so good. I would've loved to get dessert but was too stuffed. Next time!
