We received an additional bill, went ahead and paid it to put a close to the account -- and soon received a refund check for that amount. We then began receiving notices from collections agencies for the same invoice. Jerry's office sent me a bill for the vehicle a few weeks later. That was a nice surprise. When I recently called in to discuss an unrelated matter, I dealt with a rude employee, a staff member named Maria Corona. I don't have the time or patience for sass and disrespect from a commoditized service in this day and age. I learned she was also rude to a family member who also did business with Jerry, and we're both taking our business elsewhere. I used State Farm because my family did, I never gave much thought to it - easy money for ol boy Selvitella - until these disappointing experiences. The straw that broke the back was this insanely bland and banal email that he either let someone send on his behalf or didn't even bother to take the time to use my name - I told State Farm I'd rather lapse a policy or change agents. They placed me with a new agent. 10 minutes later I get a call from the ol boy himself wanting to talk about it. I call back when I'm free because unlike him I work standard business hours. His staff lets me know he's "offline for the day", ma'am it's 3:45pm, c'mon now. Then I get this email, mentioning how he and his wife were allegedly cooking for a woman and I'm just stunned. The claim review took over a week and they're only paying 25% of the the costs. We have been trying to dispute the payout for over almost a week now. We pay the california premium rates but the coverage is treated at the national average - which is ridiculous, unfair and deceptive. Wen Ling and Pearson - have answered our calls ONCE in the past 2 weeks regarding this whole process. They email us at 5pm saying we will call tomorrow - right as their offices close. In addition, our insurance coverage allows for a rental car when your insured car is unavailable due to covered issues - the daily limit is $50. There is not a single car rental place in the bay area that is renting out ANY car - economy, compact, whatever - for less than $60 before taxes. What's the point here?

I shopped around, asked for quotes…read moreonline, over the phone, through email and created an excel spreadsheet with all 32 quotes from insurance companies and the possible permutations of insurance coverage (bodily injury, property, medical,etc). Of all the insurance companies I've spoken to and came in contact with, this company was the most honest, the most patient and didn't push me to purchase coverage I did not need. I shot the agent 4 or 5 emails with different levels of coverage and he was more than happy to run the numbers for me. But this is not to say that you should go into buying car insurance blindly without having done your own research. If you want a great deal and make this process less painful, do your research, understand the terms and what coverage you get, and ask the agent questions! You'll be more happy with your final decision =)
