My issue is they never explained this clause when we called in to cancel in the first place. We asked if they would make an exception and continue to see our kids because we literally changed our dental insurance so our kids would be covered, and they said no!

I saw Dr. Balingcongan and he told me I had FOURTEEN cavities and they would cost $1000. Also said I would need a tooth extracted and that I am extremely unhealthy. He is very arrogant and judgmental if you ask him any questions regarding to your dental hygiene. He did not show me any of my x-rays. I went to TWO other dentists to get opinions. I had FOUR CAVITIES IN TOTAL. FOUR! They just want your money. Don't go here.

It is their belief that no child will be restrained for any type of dental exam or procedure. My children are relaxed and comfortable in this totally kid friendly environment that Dr. Malek and his staff have created. They understand that kids are not big people in little bodies. Kids need treated as kids. The staff take time with the kids to teach them proper oral care techniques. We travel approximately 75 minutes to utilize their services and will NOT take our children anywhere else. Yes, it is a commitment of time to travel but it is an investment in their oral health. It is also an investment of money as our dental plan is out of network for Dr. Malek. None of this matters to me for as a parent, I want the best for my children and that best is Dr. Malek. My children have experienced routine dental checkups and cleanings there for the past 3 years. My older son had to have one small filling which we were allowed to stay with him while it was done. He never flinched for the oral numbing injection or for the drilling. He was very comfortable while he watched a Christmas video. My other son underwent extensive repair from misdiagnosis from another non-pediatric dentist that required conscious sedation, root canals and crowns. We had gone to Dr. Malek for a second opinion and never went back to this other dentist. As a critical care nurse, I felt totally comfortable with the monitoring of my son during the conscious sedation. My son was appropriately monitored by an anesthesiologist with the appropriate monitoring equipment while Dr. Malek focused on the oral procedures. My son went to sleep in my arms and woke back up in my arms. We received a check in phone call that night by the anesthesiologist and the following morning by Dr. Malek himself. My only regret is that I did not take my sons to Dr. Malek sooner. According to my sons, "Dr. Malek ROCKS!!!"

Despite her not taking our insurance anymore we were going to be paying out of pocket for XRays, an Extraction, AND Nitrous oxide which would total up to more than $600 in cash. This was no problem for us despite the large amount because we strongly believe in paying for good care. While on the phone the office manager Carol began laughing at my disabled children being sick and barred us from the practice we've been going to for YEARS. This is in the midst of my daughter is having a dental emergency. Why were we barred? We were 15 minutes late due to our disbaled children having a virus, us visitng a Doctor first, and trying to reschedule to ensure the safety of everyone else. Carol's behavior on the phone was nothing short of disturbing and disgusting and I will be filing a complaint with multiple agencies as a result. Edited to add: Carol was laughing about this over the phone before attempting to tell us what she *believes* Dr. Sophie would say. And finally, the crown Dr. Sophie installed failed by cracking in half while my daughter ate a slim jim. This is the only cause of the dental emergency; failed dental work.

The whole office is set up for kids, from the waiting area to the special dental chair. There's a TV overhead, cool sunglasses to avoid the bright lights, etc. Even a plastic dental mirror to take home and use on your stuffed animals. We have to go back for a little work, and K is excited. All of the staff are great, and it was a very good experience. Okay, except for my finding it- there are dozens of dentists in Clintonville, all named something like "Clintonville Dentistry," so check carefully. Everyone was really good about explaining everything to me and making sure I understood what was going on. The dentist even spent an impressive amount of time with me which I was surprised about. At previous dentist offices I have attended, the technician would take the x-rays, do the cleaning and polishing then review everything with the dentist. At this office, the technician did my x-rays then the dentist did everything else. It felt a little odd, but I also felt like I was getting her honest opinion and attention.
