My acrylic nails broke 5 days after my appt while I'm on holiday! Which is the worst because it ruins my whole look and I cannot get it fixed. I have not been doing any labor (no washing dishes or cleaning) so I don't understand how they broke. My nail tech was in a hurry when I was trying to decide on a design. She said she needed to pick her daughter and to hurry up. So maybe she wasn't as focused on curing the acrylic. Super disappointed and sad about it as I only ever do for special occasions. I liked the shape, length, and overall color but wish they lasted at least 2 weeks. read more

I have been here several times the first time was great the second not so great, so I haven't been back for a few years I decided to try again and once again was disappointed. Pedicure under 30 minutes a very light file and scrub it was basically a nail polish and a quick lotion rub. Was kind of dirty as well. read more

The first time I went the girl was incredible and I loved my nails, today I went back and only asked for gelish and the girl who helped me left them horrible, my nail looks thick and she didn't understand what I wanted, it's very thick and the nail polish is crooked she put acrylic on my same nail and I was embarrassed to tell her no because I had already started it, terrible service I won't go back read more

Brian's Nails is a true oasis. First off, its family owned and operated for decades -- and the crew working there is all part of the family and friends still! You get that vibe walking in here, where all of the staff is close and shares that warmth and welcome with the clientele coming in. Secondly, the the quality is fantastic. The gel manicures are flawless, and wildly enough they are speedy too. Masters of their crafts, for real! Not to mention -- the prices cannot be beat. Quality and affordability? Ummm sign me up. The one thing to be aware of is -- make an appointment! I saw a couple walk-ins get turned away while I was there. Do yourself a favor and call ahead just to make sure! They are perfectionists here! I've literally never had a bad experience at this nail shop in the heart of West Valley! They get booked and busy so I highly recommend calling for an appointment. Everyone is super-friendly and easy to talk to. I feel like i come here to just laugh the whole time They want to make sure you are happy with your nails and their craft shows it! Definitely rating this place 5 stars for the honesty and communication. I was in town for my Gmas 90th which meant everything I did for myself was last minute . I did a walk in and they were very kind to squeeze me in before they had a bridal party come in . They let me know there was a wait which was fine . Loved the price and conversations I had with each worker . Definitely coming back when I come back to Utah but this time I'll do the full works and make an appointment read more

Moving from California and loosing my nail tech was heart braking. Been bouncing around SLC nail places looking for a quality one. Today was my second time coming here and again it's a yaaazzz! I'm torn. They're REALLY friendly and talkative here -which I love- and (with 1 exception) have always done a great job on my nails. But my last experience was disappointing. My gel nails started chipping the next day, so I went in to have them fixed... only for them to chip again the very next day! I'm so sad & disappointed, because I used to love coming here:( read more

This place is great! I will be back for sure. I had an appointment and spend a while waiting to be greeted when I walked into he door. They told me to pick my polish and I waited another chunk of time. I got a full set and gel paint. Vicky (hope I spelled that right) took her time and was very gentle on me. Taking into consideration that I had to have acrylics removed and the last place I got them done filed my nail beds into almost nothing, I needed her! She was friendly and talked with me a bit. The TV was really loud though, not allowing for much conversation. I do think she was in a bit of a hurry, as she had somebody waiting. I'll make an appointment with her next time. The acrylic on my pointer finger is a little crooked but nothing I'd complain about and the gel polish on the tips of my nails started peeling that night. After filing it a bit, I'm not having any issues with it coming off and all of the polish on the top of the nail is still intact, so I'm good. read more

The last place I was going to rushed me out with a bad pedicure, so it was time to find a new place. Found this place on Yelp and I was extremely surprised to find out that the staff members are all male, and are super chill. Everyone is very friendly and the place is super clean. I felt like I walked into a local pub without the booze. Vincent did my nails and did a beautiful job with the manicure AND he almost put me to sleep with the hand massage. This is the ONLY place I get my nails "DID"! If you haven't been here before, what are you waiting for? This is a male dominate salon, I know right? In my opinion men do nails better than most women. Anyways, if you do go here you'll want to make an appointment because these guys are usually booked out! They are that good! Brain(the owner) is such a good guy and is usually ready to jump in a help out when he sees a client who has been waitng longer than normal for their nail tech. Speaking of nail techs, my go to guy is TUNNY! He is ALWAYS booked up and he is fast and efficient! If he is not available I will go with Lynn she rocks! They "KNOW KNOW" what they're doing and each time they do my nails I ALWAYS get compliments! My nails usually look like my real nails when Tunny or Lynn does it. The vibe here is awesome! You have a mix of clientele that range not only in age but also in race and its so refreshing to see! I am from Cali and moving here to Utah I was surprised to see that it is not as diverse. I went with my best friend here to get her nails done. We had a free day around Black Friday weekend, to do anything so we weren't in a hurry. First expectation walking in was that assuming the name was Brian's nails, it was a male pwned and female operated. I was wrong, there are many males working here, but I'll come back to that later. There is an eclectic clientele walking in here. This salon has probably the most diverse clientele I ever saw. It was refreshing. Everybody was happy and not in a hurry, just having fun chatting and sharing stories, similar to the male counterpart, the barbershop. What threw me off about this is that most of the males made pretty great conversation. The workers were entertainers, listeners, and excellent at doing nails and massages. I watched a grown woman almost orgasm when an early 20's straight male gave her the best foot massage of her life. Honestly, I don't blame her. This is a place where she can tell her husband she's pampering herself and not lie about it. Back to the workers. The gentleman that helps us out was closest to the door. He was married and was pretty awesome. First off, he was quick, but not the quick where he messed up. He knew what he was doing and did an amazing job. My friends matte black nails were, in her words, "on point"! Came out perfect and we left extremely happy. I have been to a few salons over the years with my family and friends and I can honestly say that Brian's Nails was the best experience by far. I'm sure that's why she loves this place. read more

Got my nails done here and it was amazing. The place was small but it was nice! The guys there are extremely gentle with your hands. Most places hurt your hands when filing or cutting cuticles but over all it was a great experience I was taken back by their English I was impressed! read more

I'm visiting from California, where I've been to more nail salons than I can count. Brian's Nails is one of the best salons I've ever been to. Great welcoming attitude, and exceptional service. Had to get an acrylic nail fixed (the last time I went to a different business to have a new tip put on, I was not treated as a "regular" customer, the nail tech was rather rude). Not the case here-quite the opposite-that's why I decided to also get a pedicure. This is a family business which has been established for a long time. Will most certainly be returning on my next visit. read more

I don't think I've ever given a salon a 5 star review, but this place deserves it. - Very reasonably priced. Mani + Pedi is $30. Gel Nails + Pedi is $45. - Skilled tech. My nails were immaculate. - Awesome leg & hand massage with lotion included. - Huge selection of polishes - The salon was totally immaculate when I dropped in, around 2pm Best of all this is a family run operation. When I called for an appointment on Friday afternoon, my girlfriend and I had an easy time getting an appointment together at 5:30 pm. We were pleased that even though we were early they started working on us right away. They were very professional with the service they provided and happy our nail technicians spoke English the whole time we were there. That never happens in Denver. I had a set of French tips put on and my friend had a fill with a French tips and glitter gel nails. They are a fun group and went along with our joking making the whole experience fun even though it took over an hour to finish our nails. When we sat down to dry our nails is when I realized how dirty the salon was. Dust and dirt everywhere and that is why I did not give it a better rating. They do a great job and make the appointment enjoyable but they loose stars for the lack of cleanliness. Note that this is not from a long day but from months of neglect. read more

i use to always get my nails done here and have only had positive experiences. it's been a few years and i recently went back to try out the shellac. the shop has been remodeled and is very clean and modern looking. all the employees are fun, super nice, and great at what they do. tony did my nails and they turned out beautiful! i am pretty picky about my nails and had him do a disney theme. i couldn't be happier with the results - it looks just like the photo that i brought in. it's been more than 3 weeks and my nails are still looking almost perfect. it's reasonably priced and i'm excited to be a regular again! read more

This salon used to have much better customer service. I had an appointment last week. When I walked in they had me sit with one nail technician then get up and move to another nail technician table. The nail technician said I have an appointment , but if they don't come I can do your nails. I find this unprofessional. I scheduled an appointment over a week ago with this salon. Then they had me move again to another table. The customer service has really gone down since I went here years ago. I will not be coming back to this salon to be treated as a number. read more

I will not go back as I don't like my nails breaking to the point they hurt. I had 7 / 10 nails break so low on my fingers that it hurt, and I am gentle on my nails. Save your time and go somewhere else.

I went to a few different nail techs and they were getting the job done but not fully giving me what I wanted. I'm so happy I found affix nails and booked an appointment!! I am now fully satisfied with my manicures. I was used to getting Japanese gel manicures and NO ONE in Utah does them except affix nails. They offer Korean/Japanese gel. The quality is unmatched and Chey does an amazing job. My nails last five weeks without any chipping or peeling. I send her pictures of the designs I want and she recreates it perfectly. She has so many colors and nail accessories to choose from. The appointments take about three hours and the price is higher than other nail places but you are 100% getting what you pay for. I will keep coming back to Affix nails!! Highly recommend.

My only hesitation to writing this review is that I don't want this little gem to get so popular…read morethat I can't book an appointment! Stop wasting your time and well earned $$ at other nail salons. Shek is definitely the best in SLC when it comes to quality and value!! I'm just bummed it took me 3 years and countless mediocre, overpriced manicures to find Shek. I have Kennedy work her magic on my nails, but I've seen Aja's work as well and they are both amazing. They truely take pride in their profession and it shows. Kennedy always makes sure I walk out of their cute studio loving my new nais, and never complains when I'm overly picky/critical or even change my mind halfway through my mani. Their basic manicures are perfection, but they also do some stellar nail art. I finally found a place that will do glitter and foil to my liking! My manicures last forever - they grow out before they will ever chip. And in the strange case they do get messed up, I can just give them a ring and come in for a free touch up. They truely know the definition of great customer service. As I mentioned in my opening sentence, the icing on the cake is their prices. Extremely affordable for $30 gel/shellac manicure, and only $5 for art or glitter/foil. I've paid that much at other salons in town for a regular polish mani that will chip in 5 days. In case you couldn't tell, i'm obsessed with Shek and I'm never looking back.
