Truth be told....I write this with a bit of a tear in my eye....not to get too melodramatic over a…read moreyelp review....but pictures...when done perfect and if your in a particular sentimental mood....can have that effect. Some backstory...Imagix/Michelle has done our yearly photos for our son from ages 1 to now 5. (See my past reviews). From somehow capturing a perfect moment from our perpetually moving blur of a son (ages 1-3) to patiently instructing four 70/80 year olds on how to hold their aforementioned 4 year old Tasmanian Devil grandson last year, Michelle is a magician/artist...I always leave the photoshoot stressed from the chaos Hurricane Daniel (our son) leaves in his wake....But every year we come back to look at the proofs and are amazed at Michelle ability to capture "lighting in a bottle" . This year was no different. Fortunately we survived the terrible 2's (...3's....4's....) and thanks to time, maturity, and the opposite of gentle parenting, our little Daniel, though far from perfect, is manageable. But we didn't want to make it too easy for Michelle, so we threw in another variable. After a recent canine cancer scare, and recently learning from Google that all dogs, however loyal and cute, unfortunately have an inescapable life, span, I somehow convinced my beautiful but camera shy wife that this is the year we do a family photo with our dog. Some more backstory, if you read this far, our Yorkie, Libby, loves us but HATES the rest of the world. She spent the entire hour photoshoot in perpetual scowl and Volume 11 non stop bark. One week later as she always does, lighting in a bottle perfection. I looked at the proofs with amazement. Our son, we expected....she's done it every year, but how she made a loud perpetual yapping bark into a impossibly cute smile is above my skill set. But I think her greatest feat is how she lessened the "he must be rich" looks gap between my wife and I. My wife is easy, even me with my amateur Android skills, it's hard for her to take a bad picture. Michelle mastery came with how she elevated me to "he must be funny" looks gap level. So why the tear? We loved one of the pics so much we purchased a large framed canvas print to hang on our living room wall. My 85 year old happened to be in town for his grandsons 5th bday so I asked him for an helping hand hanging the picture. I figured he has these family portrait hanging at my childhood home. My brother and I with our full head of hair and my mom shoulder pads captured the 90's to a tee...but what I always remember is the "proud" look my dad had on his face. A look of accomplishment shouting "look at me world and all that I love and created". Watching my aging dad struggle, listing to my aging dog bark in a locked room to protect my dad's ankles, I was suddenly reminded that time, as much as you want to hit pause, always moves forward. It's a good idea to stop and smell the roses, or in this case, look at the snapshot/memories/moments and take it all in. After my dad handed me the leveler and I put away the hammer, and I looked up....and yeah....I had that "Dad" look

She was so gracious and patient and helped me select the cutest gown in her collection. She then did our newborn photos - our baby was born one week before the COVID shutdown. While she could have cancelled, she did not. She accommodated and took all the precautions necessary, even before any of else knew anything about COVID. One very last piece of important information is that I accidentally lost all the digital files of both our maternity and newborn photos. I desperately texted her and she communicated back despite being super busy. Ended up recovering those very very very special photos thanks to her. Went back to her for Christmas photos this year and simply put.... She is an extremely talented photographer. You will not regret booking with her.

She has been able to capture the best memories for us that we will cherish forever. She has the amazing talent of somehow making both of my kids smile and look at the camera at the same time! Her fun energy has my kids always excited to go see her and take pictures. She collaborates with others to make the photos perfect- makeup/hair, and cakes! I also love that she has a large supply of baby outfits and headbands - and she would style the babies so cute! We moved away 3 years ago, yet still drive an hour and a half to work with her because she is the best! Thank you Eva for capturing amazing memories that we will cherish always.

Celia and Sthiv have been photographing us since 2023. We were Originally shooting a fall family…read moresession & it turned into a baby announcement once they heard we were expecting baby #2. My 2 year old was in a mood that day but Celia got her to come out of her shell & they captured such adorable pictures of her true personality vs forced smiles. I loved how our family portraits came out. We kept in touch because I knew I wanted maternity pictures by them. They did such a beautiful job on them. Here we are now on our 3rd session with Celia & Sthiv. We finally got pictures with our newest member of the family that they were there for since the very beginning. Idk how but they got our baby to smile so big for pictures even though it was his nap time and he was cranky. I'm so in love with these pictures of my little family & can't thank them enough for capturing us so well.

I'm so grateful to have found Amor Y Luna. This was our first family session and I was so nervous…read moreto book it because I'm shy in front of a camera and don't always love the pictures I take myself but it was important to me that these precious moments with my 2 little ones don't pass me by. So it was a big decision to make and it's a service I could hardly afford anyway. Not to mention the fact that as a mother of 2, it's nearly impossible to make plans. My kids are unpredictable and sometimes it feels impossible to get them out the door on time, especially in the same outfit they started in. Between nap times, feeding times, car tantrums, it can be so overwhelming. They're shy around new people too so I didn't know how to plan for that really and not every professional understands that. That was just the start of my hesitations. I started my search on google and found the same long beach photographers on repeat. I looked on yelp as well and got some folks recommended but they weren't close. I ended up getting a referal from a fellow mom on a facebook group and she had great things to say about their price ans quality. I reached out to Celia (and some other photographers) but Celia was the only one that called me, got to know my situation especially as a first timer, and talked me out of doing a mini session and doing a 30 min session. She suggested locations and even getting my little ones comfortable with bubbles so that could cheer them up during the shoot. She's a mother, knows how kids are and has experience photographing them. She was adamant about them having a good time and not ruining the photography experience for them which I never thought of. She and her husband showed up ready (to a new location at that), flexible, and executed better than I could have ever imagined. I got the photos back quick and the work speaks for itself. If this is your first time and ur a mom, book them! They are excellent with families, know the area, and don't charge an arm and a leg just because they can. THANK YOU Amor Y Luna. From the very beginning, they were fantastic communicators, helping me with everything from choosing the location to discussing the overall style of the shoot. On the day of the session, they were warm, funny, and made everyone feel completely at ease. They were the perfect team to capture our family's memories. It was especially helpful that they spoke both Cantonese and Mandarin, which made communicating with my parents-in-law so much easier. Even more impressively, they somehow managed to get my cranky 9-month-old engaged and smiling throughout the session! And of course, the photos were absolutely stunning. The perfect finishing touch to an already wonderful experience. I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out and will definitely be booking Dave and Florence again. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for talented photographers who truly know how to make the experience enjoyable for the whole family.
