There were also dead bugs inside the bathroom light sconces, which made it obvious that basic cleaning and maintenance are being neglected. The most shocking issue was finding a blood stain on the bed. That is absolutely inexcusable and made me seriously question the cleanliness of the room and whether the linens had been properly changed or inspected. The amenities advertised were just as disappointing. The pool was literally caved in and unusable, yet there was no clear indication of that beforehand. And the so-called "free breakfast" consisted of a few deli meats laid out on a plate, which hardly qualifies as breakfast and felt incredibly misleading. I understand that older hotels require upkeep, but there is no excuse for mold, stained bedding, dead bugs, and misleading amenities. For the price charged, this experience was unacceptable. I would not stay here again and hope management takes these issues seriously before more guests have a similar experience.

We stayed in the Cross Rip building, one of the two main buildings on the property. The room we stayed in was small, quaint and a bit dated in terms of decor and appliances. There are also a few houses available to rent and a pool house with a game room located across the street. The game room was a bit of a letdown--only the shuffleboard was usable, and we couldn't find paddles or pucks for air hockey or ping pong. It's possible you need to request them, but nothing was clearly indicated and we didn't end up asking about it. The highlight of our stay was definitely the heated pool and outdoor jacuzzi at our building! we spent a lot of time there. It was never crowded, and at times it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. I imagine it gets a bit busier as the season kicks into gear. Every staff member we interacted with was warm and welcoming. I'd absolutely come back for the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful setting!

While this is information we normally would share, this particular stay was a gift to me and it was a little awkward for him to have to make the announcement. She also proceeded to say the island was very "relaxed and laid-back" which I believe meant "don't ask for too much." I think asking for restaurant recommendations or the like may have been pushing our luck. The location of the hotel is convenient, though you can certainly take the bus (highly recommended) we also ended up walking back and forth between the hotel and town a number of times without difficulty. The breakfast was okay, but the real gems are the bakeries in town, so it might be best to plan on skipping the bagels and small cereal boxes and go straight for the downtown area. The rooms overall were clean and had an ac unit - which is a necessity on humid summer days/nights. I guess this is why you have to be 'in the know'. We stayed in the Americana Room with a private bathroom. Bathroom door opens to the hall way and the lock did not work making us a bit nervous every time we had to use the bathroom. The room had one queen size bed and a side bed. The side bed was too lumpy and uncomfortable. Breakfast is included but meh.. it's just cereal or stale bread/bagel and a few pieces of fruit. Coffee and yogurt is also on the table but they are both the weak and flavorless kind. The cleaning staff was very nice but kinda pushy with the tip. Deliberately leaving two envelopes for tip in visible areas. All in all, it was ok because I got to experience a 'traditional american B+B' but I wouldn't go here again unless I'm in a pinch.

The room is a nice size and has tons of amenities. They have an indoor pool that is incredible. It's the perfect temperature, and is clean as clean could be. They also have small hot tub which is very nice and warm. They have small saunas, a gym and a whole recreational center with full sized Tennis Courts, rooms for games such as Handball and even a small arcade. The facility provides a lot of that, including an indoor restaurant called the Loft Restaurant and Bar and an outdoor one called the Loft Shack in the middle of the parking lot. I explained to the front desk attendant upon checkout that I have 2 reservations in 2 different rooms and he upgraded us to their suite so that we could stay in one room the whole weekend. Not only was this super nice of him to do, but it was so convenient for us that we didn't have to unpack to repack and unpack again. I can't say enough nice things about this hotel & the friendly employees. Parking is free and always available, they have a indoor pool & a nice courtyard in the back with firepits. There are many nice restaurants to enjoy with plenty of other things to do or just walk across the street plop your beach chair down and enjoy the beach!

We narrowed it down to two options, and Oceanside Condos was one of the two. While I was at work, he called and spoke with Jackie. When I got home, he had a lot of information written down that Jackie had provided, and told me that she was very friendly. We pondered the idea for about a week, then booked the room. Finally, our vacation day came. When we arrived, Jackie greeted us by name and was very helpful, providing us with a list of places in the area, and she even went through the list with us and told us what the best places in the area were. We checked into our room; it was even more beautiful than what the pictures had depicted. The view from our balcony, overlooking the pool and the ocean, was to die for. The room was clean from top to bottom. They supplied pots and pans for guests, so we were able to cook if we didn't feel like going out to eat. The first two days, the weather was wonderful. Other than that, it was rather yucky out, but we still made the best of our vacation. Regardless of how the weather was, the view from our room remained beautiful. Rain or shine, we were at the beach at least once a day. Every time we walked [or drove] by the office, Jackie greeted us with a smile and waved to us. Also, there is a really nice man named Dave that watches over the place at night, which made us feel more comfortable and secure, considering neither of us knew the area that well. Both Jackie and Dave are really sweet and do their jobs well. They gave us plenty of privacy, and at the same time, they were always there if we had any sort of question. They were even nice enough to allow me to use their office phone to call my father when I had lost my phone on the beach. At Oceanside Condos, we both felt welcome. All in all, I would strongly recommend Oceanside Condos to anybody who is looking for an affordable vacation with a great ocean view. Like any other place you will stay at, there are rules to be followed, such as no animals on the property, no glass bottles in the pool area, and a maximum of four guests per room (per Massachusetts occupancy laws). I don't find these rules unnecessary at all, for the owners are just doing their job and protecting their license. Therefore, if you don't like following rules, this probably isn't the place for you. But if you're looking to rent a beautiful, affordable condo on the ocean with the friendliest staff you will ever meet, I promise this will be the place for you. Edgartown is so quant and fun. This is right on Main Street and near all the shops and restaurants. It also has such a beautiful view of the boats and water. The room was clean and beds comfortable: The walls are thin and I could hear running and walking above my head. We also had a room on the Main Street and there is a loud bar outside our window that closed at 2:00 am. On Saturday night you can hear the people in line and music. Sunday morning they have early morning garbage trucks. I would stay here again due to location and views but perhaps stay on other side of hotel.
