Both Mikes (the owners) were super helpful and even took our whole family on a special lighthouse tour.

Any worries or concerns that I may have had disappeared the moment we pulled into the drive. From the impeccable landscaping to the timely and friendly greeting from the Inn owner, Pattie started the weekend off perfectly. She was both warm and inviting. She took the time to show us her beautiful property and all of its personalized, beautiful features and amenities. The rooms were spacious, impeccable and adorned with all of the luxuries you may want for a comfortable stay. The housekeeping crew left the room spotless and tidy each day as well. Watching Pattie work and care for her guests make the stay just that more special. She truly cares about her guests comfort. My friends and I were able to enjoy her delicious, homemade breakfasts (we could have done better of keeping her informed of any culinary preferences but she was able to accommodate a few reasonable requests). She has truly thought of every detail---from coffee/tea/filtered water access all day to homemade cookies ! Sitting on the veranda together whether in the evening or morning after breakfast, we were able to settle in surrounded by trees and enjoy one another's company. We loved it so much we are thinking of making this an annual visit. Thank you, Pattie for creating the perfect environment for us to laugh, talk and create memories until our next reunion!

It was a little surprising that a room with such a large common space would have two queen beds instead of a king bed, though. The staff, including housekeeping, did a great job making us feel like guests of honor all weekend long, with a bride and groom welcome setup and several refreshes of the room while we were away. We were also able to book one of the dog-friendly rooms at the last minute, in which my mom stayed with our dog. There was lots of green space on and off the property for our dog to explore on walks. The Coonamessett also hosted our morning-after-the-wedding buffet breakfast, which we coordinated through their special events team five months before the wedding. The food was pretty good, nothing special, but was a little on the pricier side (to be expected for a wedding-related event). Since they weren't hosting a wedding on-site that weekend, we were able to use the entire ballroom space. A couple hotel guests wandered in and grabbed a plate before we informed them it was a private event. The Coonamessett even opened the bar for our guests (my niece and nephew said the espresso martinis were good!).

While we didn't personally stay there, we coordinated with the general manager, Cindy, to have our guests stay there the week of our wedding. We were delighted to learn that prices were very reasonable for an August weekend, at under $300 per night (2-night minimum). We had no issues with our invited guests securing rooms, and it is best to book rooms by calling hotel management directly. The room decor is characteristically quaint Cape Cod themed, and was a nice bonus to welcome our many guests who had never been to Cape Cod. Cindy was accommodating in allowing our shuttle buses to pick up and drop off guests at the Red Horse Inn, and she was good at getting the guest welcome bags where they needed to go after we dropped them off.

I did notice the mattress and pillows all had encasements to prevent bugs. Since I also have this in my own house I felt very secure that I would have no unwanted guests. The bathroom was also good size and the shower was one of the best I have ever had. I don't know how the WiFi was as I did not receive a password. All in all I would go back in a heartbeat.

We arrived at 4:00 PM, the advertised check-in time, only to be told our room was not ready. This immediately made us late for a 4:00 PM party we had planned to attend. To avoid exactly this situation, I had called the hotel two days prior and requested an early check-in. Management assured me it would not be an issue, yet our room was still not available until after 4:30 PM. When we finally got into the room, we discovered it was not the room we had booked. We specifically reserved an oceanfront room with a king-size bed. Instead, we were given a second-floor ocean-view room with two double beds. When we brought this to management's attention, we were simply told that no oceanfront king rooms were available. At no point before arrival or during check-in did anyone notify us that the room we booked would not be honored. The condition of the room was equally unacceptable. The floors were covered in sand, the balcony was deteriorating, and the railings were stained and dirty. The bathroom floor was so filthy that we didn't even feel comfortable taking a shower. We found human hair and food debris behind and underneath the nightstands. The dresser draws were broke and not functional. For a hotel charging $735 per night plus fees, the cleanliness and maintenance standards were shocking. To make matters worse, this isn't our first negative experience here. On Valentine's Day earlier this year, we attempted to stay at the resort and our room wasn't ready until 10:30 PM on the day of check-in. There were approximately 30 other guests dealing with the same issue that night. Before posting this review, I reached out to the hotel directly and gave them an opportunity to make things right. They never responded. After one uncomfortable night, we checked out and moved to another hotel. Between the delayed check-in, failure to provide the room we reserved, filthy conditions, lack of communication, and complete absence of customer service, Seacrest Oceanfront Resort was a huge letdown. This property is overpriced, overrated, and poorly managed. I would not recommend it to anyone.
