I think there's room to jazz up the vibe with music or a live band; overall make it livelier. Options for mimosas are a single, a trio with different juices... or a mermosa; half a bottle of champs served in a goblet!! For starters, we tried the fried green tomatoes which were perfectly crispy but could have used a little more spice in the flavor department. Although the remoulade sauce for dipping packed a tiny bit of heat. Entrees were typical spinach omelet and a grits breakfast bowl with toppings. Parking can be tricky, but we were immediately greeted and seated upon arrival. Very friendly staff (thank you, Kourtney) but strange how asking to sit by the window was a no-go. Also, there was a note about special hours this summer but I didn't get a photo. My nephew loved his French Toast and, I have to admit, it was delicious. It didn't need butter or syrup. I found the meal at Brick & Spoon to be fine. Nothing extremely noteworthy or memorable and I'm not sure that I'd jump at the chance to return given the myriad of options in the area. Loved the alcohol to juice ratio. It certainly favored the alcohol. I was feeling it-haha. The juices were all really tasty and made for a creative spin on the standard. I definitely encourage you to pick three for $12. Regarding the food... it could have been better but wasn't bad. I was hyped for the bananas foster french toast but they were out of bananas so I decided to scrap the sweet plan altogether in favor of the shrimp and grits. I think that the grits had great flavor and the shrimp were cooked beautifully. BUT, the poached egg was cooked so poorly. The yoke was cooked to the point of being hard boiled. It didn't create the effect of yoke pouring out the way I would have liked. The rest of the table more or less carry the same opinion. Our table ordered a good variety of food and everything was fine. The French toast order was good but the syrup being served in plastic solo condiment cups seemed a bit bizarre. Having it served warm from an actual boat would have been a nicer touch. Maybe it's a covid protocol though, I don't know. I'll likely try some other nearby options before returning here. We both got hash browns with our dish, because who doesn't love hash browns. It was nice and crispy, although it was more like tater tots than hash browns. The bayou Benedict, we had a choice between an English muffin and a biscuit, and we had the biscuit option. The sauce on the Benedict was delicious, it had a little bit of a kick to it. I would have liked my eggs to be a little more runny as it did seem it was cooked right through. I think the Brik and Spoon is more about going to this place then actually liking this place. It is trendy. Being trendy, it also comes with a pretty high price point that I do not feel that the food justifies. I have no problem paying for a high-end meal. I regularly go to high-end restaurants. However, the food and the overall experience has to justify that price tag. While I would not call this place exorbitantly priced, it is definitely expensive for what you are getting. And again, I have no problem paying for an experience, I just don't think this was worth either the raves or the actual culinary experience that I had. Nice to know as we weren't told that by staff. Our server came out pretty quick. We ordered a bottle of champagne, two sweet teas and beignets. 20 minutes later the beignets come out and still ok drinks. We waited 10 more minutes until my friend finally went inside. The bottle and drinks were brought out shortly after. Now I've had plenty of experience with mimosas, lol. When I poured the orange juice into the champagne it fizzled all the way to the top, pouring all over the table. I thought I poured too much until it happened to my friend too. Our waitress told us AFTER we wasted 1/2 bottle that this kind of champagne had a bad mixture with orange juice so you have to pour it extra slow. Would've been nice to know beforehand. Management refused to do anything. We sat down at 11:30. At 1:15 we received our food. My friends benedict came out over cooked and had to be sent back. Over cooked benedicts seem to be a trend by reading the other reviews. My chicken club sandwich was chewy and dry. I sent mine back and was over it at this point so I didn't eat. I absolutely hate to have to write a review like this during Covid, but the experience, service and food was absolutely horrendous. Think twice before coming here. read more

I guess the trick is to go around 930-10 o'clock when it's not too busy. I was delighted to try the Traditional benedict which came with your choice of grits or home fries. I opted for the grits and it was okay. The eggs benedict on the other hand were to die for. The combination of the homemade hollandaise and poached egg was delicious. My boyfriend on the other hand wasn't too please with his breakfast. He had ordered 3 cheese and ham omelet and got something completely different with bacon and spinach. The "hash browns" are more like home fries or potato fries they were okay. We also ordered the Banana foster French toast which was a whopping $17, very overpriced imo. Same goes for the "flight of mimosas" it was $17 and the 3 glasses were tiny. The sweet tea I ordered tasted like sugar water so I had to swap it out for Soda. There was no music or ambiences really just the sound of two large party's and other patrons talking. 1st visit to this restaurant to pick up a quick breakfast bite. This is a place with a southern flair for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Their hours are early with a 7am to 2pm operation. I had a deviled egg starter made with tasso, topped with fried shrimp and a siracha aioli on the side. Hubby had sausage and two eggs over easy. As we walked in there was a display of a huge bloody mary with lots of veggies, meats and they provide you with a selection card to customize your bloody mary. They have a variety of vodkas, veggies in which to select. I was so tempted but we were going to a volunteer orientation so we could not partake. The restaurant location is a spacious spot in maitland. The server Danni was friendly, attentiove and courteous. Our food came out timely and hot. I mentioned that they had beignets on the menu and Danni offered to bring us a complimentary serving if we would like to try them. And of course we said yes! I've had this place bookmarked forever and was super excited to go this morning. Our waitress was absolutely amazing and she was the highlight of our visit. Everything else fell quite below our expectations. We started with bloody Marys. They were build your own. We didn't get a cool menu with choices (like I've seen pics of) but our waitress was able to tell us all our choices. What I didn't know is each of my choices added a dollar to an already $13 drink. I then settled on the crab cake Benedict but they didn't have any crab. So I finally said just the traditional Benedict but I was served the more expensive bayou Benedict. It was served on a biscuit with shrimp. The eggs were poached perfectly, however, the sauce was not good at all. I don't like bell peppers and it was full of them and butter. Wasn't a hollandaise sauce at all. The grits were good that I thought came with it but apparently I had other choices I would have picked but wasn't asked what sides I wanted or how I wanted my Benedict. I would've preferred an English muffin over a biscuit and hash browns over grits. My boyfriend did the smart thing and ordered al a carte. He got blackened shrimp and a side of cheese grits. He enjoyed his meal. You can notice that shrimp seem to be their "jam". However, the last straw was when we were ready to leave he went to use the restroom and they were cleaning it and told him he couldn't use it. No restroom?!?! Really?!?! By all accounts, I gave four stars rather than five (as 4.5 isn't an option) because none of the three to-go orders of beignets had powdered sugar on them.
