WOW-This place is so flipping good! I'm honestly in awe at the lower reviews. Yes, the wait times can be a little long, but that's because they're taking their time and putting love into every plate. And let me tell you--it shows. The portions were huge and absolutely worth the price. Every bite was definitely packed with good flavor--rich, tasty, and not overly salty, which I really appreciated. I had the Afro Soul Bowl and was genuinely impressed. I'm not usually someone who likes to mix a lot of foods together like that, but this bowl knocked it out of the park. Everything I chose for my bowl paired perfectly--just so, so good. The Rasta Pasta definitely brings some heat, so if you're not a fan of spicy food, this one might not be for you--but I personally loved the kick. On the other hand, the quesadillas were flavorful without being too spicy and were delicious. Overall, every dish we ordered was amazing. I honestly can't wait to go back and try more! read more

After seeing their food pop up on my Instagram , I decided to click on their page and saw they were local and turned my car around instantly lol. You place your order on their website for pickup or delivery . I chose pick up and they give you an estimated time. I received a text when my order was done and as soon as I say back in my car, I opened the bag of yumminess. The oxtails were some of the best I've ever had! My Afro bowl had a sweet honey cornbread base and then they placed the sides on top . I had Mac n cheese , Rasta pasta and sweet plaintains = 10/10 good ! I then got my hubby the lamb chops and oxtail combo with rice and it was amazing as well. Their location is close to the citrus bowl and their website is easy to order from . Ambiance is a bit on the blah side as it's located in an old warehouse style building between caping world stadium and John young parkway. But hey , the food makes up for it ! This place is in ghost kitchen with other restaurants there. So basically a pick up your food spot not sitting and eating. Purchased the jerk chicken entree with sides of rice and Rasta pasta. The jerk chicken was blackened beautifully and the taste was awesome too! The jerk chicken spices were marinated in the chicken unlike other places where they provide a spicy bbq mix with jerk seasoning. The Rasta pasta was another awesome addition. Yes spicy , but not overpowering. I did wish it was more saucy but that's just a texture thing because the taste was there! The rice with cilantro was awesome the grain of rice is jasmine- which I love. The only thing is I wish they included some form of sauce/gravy with the rice. I don't know the ethnicity of the owner however the fusion of Jamaican , Haitian and soul food is wonderful. The portion to price ratio works. read more

The food is amazing!! This place is located inside of a food hall with tons of options to choose from, so it's no seating. All orders are placed for pick up/to-go. Many food options on the menu for EZ eats, though. I had the Mac and cheese with Oxtails and wow! The don't skimp on the gravy either for the my oxtail lovers! I got the honey jerk lamb chops with mac and cheese and seasoned broccoli. The sauce was tasty but the chops could have been a bit more tender and marinated. The broccoli had spice but wasnt flavorful. The mac and cheese was fine. I added passion fruit bbq chicken to my order and it was mainly cut up dark meat that had a decent flavor. I ordered a delivery of the jerk chicken entree with green beans and rasta pasta. the jerk chicken was the star of the show. It was crispy and flavorful af! The green beans required alot of chewing so I wasn't a fan. The rasta pasta was okay. I ripped the chicken apart and added it to the pasta which made it better. I was hesitant to Doordash from here at first because of the low Yelp reviews, but then I checked Google and people were consistently raving about the Passionfruit BBQ wings. I took a leap of faith and so glad that I did! The wings are cooked perfectly. With a slight bbq char and a tangy sauce that's not overly sweet. I also got the sweet potato mash and baked beans as a side and they, too, were balanced in sweetness levels. As an additional side I got the garlic tostones. I haven't had them seasoned like this before. It was like eating a thick potato chip with a garlic dip. Nice texture and flavor to balance out the rest of the food. I tasted their food because they catered an event I attended. The food was so great and rich with flavor! So many catered events I go to have such dry and bland buffets (especially fish) but they did an amazing job. I had the salmon, oxtail, rice, mac and cheese, and red sauce pasta. Salmon wasn't dry at all but flavorful and the oxtail was slammin! Mac and cheese was creamy with a gooey stretch and not overly backed. I also had a pineapple cake (I am not sure if it is even on the menu) but it was very moist and not overly soaked. The cake was also light and fluffy. I am just overly impressed by their catered food which most businesses have a hard time not drying out their food. I would definitely suggest and use them for an event. Hands down the best food I've had in Orlando. I've eaten from this restaurant multiple times. The lamb chops and the salmon are my favorite. The jerk chicken quesadillas come in a close 3rd. I've never had a bad experience from this restaurant. Food is always seasoned well and the protein FALLS APART when I'm eating it . The food was pretty good but like a lot of people say, the rice and beans are a bit dry. It would be nice if you could add the option to have the juice from the oxtail poured on it. (highly recommend, made them that much better) My daughter and I got oxtail, rice and beans and mac n cheese and corn bread. My daughter is picky and loved it all. I enjoyed mine as well, the oxtail were tender and seasoned perfectly. My husband got the jerk bbq wings and they were good but not his favorite. The lamb chops stole my heart! The season was so spiked throughout the tasting phase, it had me shocked lol! I asked for medium and it was full of flavor, juicy, tender, and charred on the outside! Wheewww!! The Mac and cheese was delectable! It was worth every calorie with each bite. I am a rice and bean connoisseur because it's my favorite dish but I must say it wasn't much to say on the rice and beans. The Mac and chops took me for the ride I was looking for. The food was a complete waste of money!! I paid almost $50 for the salmon & grits, shrimp & grits, and chicken and waffle plates. The grits were watery and disgusting, the waffles were thick and rubbery, the chicken was crispy on the outside, but once I bit it it was slimy and wasn't done. The salmon was salty and I didn't even try the shrimp! I'm very unhappy and upset that I spent my money on this food. read more
