This is my favorite place to go for breakfast on the weekends! The coffee is great and the food is soooo good! I have never had a bad meal here. The service is always so friendly and it just a very comfortable no frills diner where you can have a great breakfast or lunch. It gets really busy around 900 am but I highly suggest checking it out if you are in the area!

Johnny's diner is good! I live in a neighborhood up the street and I've been coming to this place since it was the B&B diner. The remodel and refresh on the inside is nice and still retains the same atmosphere at the previous diner had. The food is great, my pancakes were awesome and my scrambled eggs were amazing. The only complaint I had was the bacon was a little small and wasn't that good. I like big strips of bacon cooked crispy, these were smaller and cooked right up to the point of being done. I still ate them, but that's my only qualm. Will come back for sure!

This was our family's first time visiting. We stopped by on Mother's Day at 1 PM and were seated immediately. Once we placed our orders, it was quite a wait, though -- 40 minutes later for our food to arrive. Their dining room staff were bustling (lots of expediting orders, refilling drinks, and clearing tables), so it was understandable. Once delivered, our orders were hot and freshly made. We could tell they serve great quality bacon and breads. Their Cinnamon French Toast was the standout. We will definitely return!

First place of the year for me to try. It used to be Sunny's Dinner so I was excited to try it. I had the Johnnys Omelet and it was really good. My wife and mother in law also enjoyed theirs. Can't wait to try their lunch. The ambiance was your typical dinner setting and our waiters who we thought had anew York accent but was from Romania gave us amazing service.

They redid the inside and it looks really fresh and open with plenty of seating although many of the tables needed to be bussed when we arrived. We seated ourselves and we're greeted quickly with menus. Our drink order arrived and we placed our food order. After a short wait the food arrived. The fries were great, hot and crispy with a little seasoning. The sandwiches were OK. Nothing great but not bad. I liked that they came with Cole slaw and a pickle and the price is very reasonable but the bread was a little soggy on both sandwiches and the lettuce and tomato were not really very crispy. I think I would give this place another try but maybe order something other than a sandwich. They givebyou the check at the table but its not totaled so if you are paying cash (3.5% extra if.you use a credit card) you have to go to the register, pay, then go back and tip, a little awkward in my opinion. Anyway, no real complaints, just no big wins either.

We both started with a cup of coffee and a large glass of fresh orange juice. Everything was so fresh and delicious! I ordered the French toast with fresh fruit and mascarpone cheese. OMG, it was SO good! I didn't even need extra syrup because the mascarpone and fresh fruit blended together into the perfect naturally sweet breakfast. Every bite was delicious! My partner had the best breakfast, too. He ordered the short rib, and it was incredibly tender and flavorful. The potatoes were perfectly crispy, just the way we like them! We were both so happy and left feeling like we had just enjoyed an amazing breakfast. Our waiter was super cool and provided wonderful hospitality. He made our experience even better. The restaurant is always beautiful, clean, and welcoming. I highly recommend this spot! Stopped in at Briarpatch on Park Avenue for a weekday brunch to continue my birthday celebrations…read more Even for a standard weekday, the place was packed to the gills, which is par for the course here, though being seated right by the front door had its downsides. Our high-top caught the steady breeze of people cycling in and out, trading blasts of humid Florida air with AC, but it was manageable enough. Our server was solid and attentive, though the kitchen had a couple of operational hiccups. I ordered the fried green tomatoes to start, but they were forgotten until after our main plates had already landed on the table. When they arrived, the execution was decent. The batter didn't adhere well and slipped off the tomatoes, though the accompanying sauce carried the dish nicely. On the drink side, the virgin blackberry lemonade hit the mark completely: balanced, tart, and refreshing. The breakfast mains were where the kitchen redeemed itself. I built my meal around the bacon and mushroom omelette, which was formidable. It was fully loaded with bacon, cheese, peppers, onions, and mushrooms without feeling greasy or heavy. They had run out of biscuits, which was surprising for a brunch spot mid-shift, so I subbed in sourdough toast. The undisputed star of the meal was the side of cheese grits. I am notoriously particular about grits, restaurants almost always serve them under-salted, gluey, or watery, requiring a table-side overhaul of butter, salt, and pepper. These were dialed in straight from the kitchen. The texture, dairy integration, cheese ratio, and baseline seasoning were spot-on without needing a single touch of salt or pepper. Minor timing and stock quirks aside, BriarPatch remains a reliable staple. I left full, satisfied, and reminded why it is always worth keeping in the local Park Ave rotation.

I'll start with the positives: the space itself is really cute, it's in a great location, and I love that they have children's books available for families who come with their little ones. I also tried a chocolate ecclair, and it was absolutely delicious. Their pastries and desserts looked really good overall. Unfortunately, my experience with the food and drink was mixed. I ordered a matcha and avocado toast. The avocado toast was okay, but it was a little bland. The matcha, however, was extremely bitter. I'm not someone who typically asks for a drink to be remade or changed, and I really tried to drink it, but it was so bitter that it was making me nauseous. I politely asked if there was anything they could do, and I was simply told that there was nothing they could do and that I could just add more sugar. I understand that everyone has different preferences, but I do think there's an opportunity here to provide better customer service. Sometimes something as simple as offering to remake the drink or offering a replacement can make a huge difference in a customer's experience and whether they want to come back. If I return, it would probably be for one of their pastries and maybe a coffee rather than the matcha.

Each item that I selected came up with a message that read, "Our store is not currently accepting orders." I tried again a few minutes later. Then again. And again. And again. I tried to call and received a voicemail that stated a different number. At 8:50am, the option to order seemed to be back up and running. I ordered five items, including the Roasted Tomatoes & Goat Cheese Quiche. For context: I live 45 minutes away from Buttermilk Bakery. It used to be on my way to work but, as of a few years ago, that is not the case anymore. So, it is now a special occasion destination. Reserved only for weekends when I can make the trip. More context: I have been raving to one of my closet friends for years about how much I love this place. My most emphatic musings have been about the quiche. Today, since she and I were planning an afternoon poolside, I thought that I would surprise her with an assortment of Viennoiserie and other items. At 10:36am, I received a call from Buttermilk. The woman on the phone informed me that they had run out of the quiche. How?!? Once the website was working, I was able to place my order quickly and the item didn't even read, "Low stock." I know that this is a small problem in a world full of large problems, but the thing that really set me off is that when I arrived at the store, the person in line in front of me asked for the Strawberry Buttermilk Pie. He was told that they were out of stock. He was pleasant in stating that there appeared to be slices in the refrigerator case. The girl behind the register told him that they were being held for online orders. When it was my turn, I stated that no one had held my slice of quiche. She blandly said, "I am sorry," and proceeded. I then stated that I was unhappy and had driven some distance. She asked if I would like something else. I responded that the person on the phone had simply told me that I would receive a refund. I then asked for the girl to check on my refund. She said it was not processed yet. So, I said that I would wait. She needed to ask for help to process the refund. She wasn't nasty to me, but she did not care one iota. My effort and subsequent inconvenience meant nothing. I wonder if my refund would even have been processed had I not asked. My friend and I thought the pastries that we received were fine, but she is fitness-minded and was hesitant to indulge in so many carbs without the rich protein that the quiche would have provided. And, yet, more context: This happened once before. With the quiche. Maybe a year ago. Though, that time, I believe it was a butternut squash quiche. My husband needed to be in the area, so he suggested that he pick-up at Buttermilk. When he arrived, he was told that there would be no quiche. No call. No nothing. He didn't think to ask for a refund and we never received one. That time, I simply thought, "Well, accidents happen." This time, I think that I received very shoddy service. I felt very disrespected. I felt unseen. I have loved this place, but I am so disappointed.

Parking: 1/5 the parking situation at "The Yard" is a bad situation, just like everywhere else on Virginia drive. This is extremely noticeable though at the Yard food haul where parking is exclusively taken all the time. Especially on the weekends, and with a new apartment complex being built across from the yard parking will become insurmountable. Service: 4.3/5 at a high rate if customers Eggdose to me stands out in service. With relatively fast counter service and an easy checkout process makes for good service, though it feels less personal due to the yard itself being kind of a cold hyper scrubbed sometimes fake seaming aura. Price: 3/5 as prices go for the Yard, Eggdose is one of the cheaper options, this can be clearly seen displayed in multiple menu boards and tv screens. Your still over paying for "steak" which is a great disservice of the use of the word, "steak" Ambiance: 3.5/5 either the yard is your vibe or it's not, with a vast range of sitting areas and an outside space it can be nice, that being said the foe bar scene they are forcing to take place really takes away from the actual scene the yard would stand out in which is community. The Yard and by extension Eggdose, seem to be stuck between bar lounge scene and community centered fun, they need to pick one. * recommendation * the tater tot's are by far one of their best menu items
