This is Brick House Tavern and Tap, and I should say this is one of the best Sports Bar and Restaurant to hangout and enjoy with friends in New Jersey. Me and my friend had beer and dinner on a Sunday night. We ordered crispy duck wings with brick sauce and I had grilled wild caught mahi-mahi in roasted garlic butter, jasmine rice and veggies on the side. The food was great. The service was excellent. Chris, our server is the best. He's attentive with all our needs. He's highly recommended. This place is underrated which doesn't make sense. Decided to eat local today since it was snowing. I stopped in and we were seated near the fire place which was very nice. The place has plenty of sports stuff and tv's to keep you happy the ambiance was on point as a sports bar. I ordered a DUO BACON BURGER which was their burger of the month and a Shiner Bock beer. The burger was so good it was cooked very well and tasted great the French fries were perfect as well. The reason I gave this place three stars is because of the service our waitress took our order and ignored us after that and spent most of the time talking to a older couple across from me that from the conversation they were having they all knew each other personally. There was a older employee who judging by my experience of working in restaurant and dining seemed to be a manger there judging by his enthusiasm and aim to please. He was constantly checking on us and even brought our food by he really didn't come off as a server plus the girls name was on the check as our server. I would have given four stars if he was our actually waiter but if he is a manager like I think. He needs to manage your staff you see one of your employees shooting the breeze with people she obviously knows for more than two minutes you have to tell her to take care of her other customers. My only favorite thing about this place was knockout shrimps. Drinks and other food are ok but could be better. Fish & chip was greasy and Philly cheese steak was a bit bland. Fries were greasy and tasted like oil. Other than that, place is pretty decent with good lights and decorations. read more

Food is delicious!!!! I give it 4.5 stars. Mozzarella sticks are crispy on outside and gooey inside. Sprinkled with Parmesan and served with spicy marinara. Brick burger is well seasoned, juicy and great with a cold beer. Chicken pot pie is baked daily with puff pastry on top. Service was very good. Military discount available which is always appreciated. Kids menu is great for kids with drink included. Casual atmosphere with very cool decor. Brick house is also super accommodating to large parties and gives us our own separate corner of multiple tables. The nachos are a great deal for the side and toppings - would def recommend. I was at this location on Friday the 20th around 10:00 PM. That place was not over crowded. We were seated right away by the fireplace. My wife ordered the chicken and waffles and I ordered the fish and chips. Both entrees were really good. The fish came with 3 large pieces, crispier than I ever had but tender inside. The chicken that came with the waffles a were chicken tenders. We also ordered Sangria which was probably one of the best sangrias I have ever had. We were attended to by Emily who was very welcoming, kept a smile at all times, helped with our selections and though she was covering most of the tables, she always checked on us. You also made recommendations on what to try out next visit. I gave this location a 4 star instead of a 5 because the restroom had no paper towel and the bin was overfill. I think they should check it more often especially since it was not as busy as it usually seems to be. Aside from that everything was great and Emily was dope! YO. Amazing service, amazing food. Super chill atmosphere, lots of TVs everywhere to watch sports games. There's a bar, tables, booths, and couches with tables by a fireplace. Spot is super cool. The servers are attentive. I asked for no peanut sauce for my Thai salad due to my partner's allergy and that salad did not suffer without that sauce. The manager came out and personally served us the salad and reassured us that there was so peanuts is any of the food. I really appreciate that they took that seriously. The food is not salty, not oily, and just delicious. Didn't feel rushed at all. Was able to enjoy my Friday night with my man, after a long weekend. Great job and not only kudos to the staff but the success is testament to management and their ability to get this running like a well oiled machine. Brick Burger Classic- 8/10 The picture does not do justice, it smelt so good. I quickly snapped a photo and couldn't help myself from chowing this burger down. A classic burger that is cooked to perfection with the right amount of sauce, vegetable, and it held together really well! Tater Tots- 8/10 Crisp and not too salty. Outdoor seating is very nice. The issue here is the menu. It is extremely hard for a vegetarian to eat here as there are basically no options. I chose the Thai chicken salad without the chicken and they threw bagged lettuce on a plate with some bottled dressings - very acidic. The huge fireplace is a nice centerpiece and all the Rutgers red shirts in the place made it feel like a go-to place. However, first trying to sit down in a side booth that was WAY too small was the first sign that things were not as they seem. The place was way understaffed for the work load, so service was slow. I cannot blame the servers for that, but it was brutal. What I am not going to discount for the understaffing are things like ordering a flight of beer and not having the flight boards available, thus not even knowing which one was which. Speaking of the beer, though they have a reasonable list, most everything on it I had before. After the flight, I believe it is actually everything now. So if you are looking for a new variety, this "Tap" is probably not going to be the place to find it. As for the food, it was a pretty solid average. I met up with the girls to catch up and get food and drinks. When I arrived I parked in the plaza parking lot. I walked in and found the girls. I have been to this spot before but it's been awhile. It is a bar and grill with TVs from wall to wall and even a fireplace inside and out. We were served by Todd and he was ok. I ordered the sparkling sangria for my drink. I didn't particularly care for it because it was way too sweet. I changed it for the lemon drop martini and that was good. For my meal I got the buffalo wings and that wasn't bad, it filled me up just enough. Todd was able to give us separate bills which was cool. My bill came to a little over $33. Came here for dinner on a Monday and it was pretty empty apart from the bar area and outdoor seating. We started with the house baked giant pretzel. It came with sriracha ranch and a cheese sauce. The pretzel itself came out warm and soft and went really well with the dips. For entrees we ordered the fish and chips and Philly cheesesteak. The fish in the fish and chips was pretty oily and the fries we're a little soggy. The cheesesteak was disappointing because there wasn't much meat and the bread tasted a little stale. The mozzarella bricks and wings which were half Buffalo half Thai were good. I also ordered the deviled eggs which were so incredibly salty and my bacon on top was kinda raw so I sent it back. I don't have much of a positive review on this restaurant/bar. I have been here 3 times & each time was a little more disappointing than the last. The first time I tried this restaurant the food I ordered was horrible (back in 2019). The food was just bland and didn't meet any of my expectations. It was bland, like warm & didn't leave much fulfillment. It took a while to come out which was a little surprising as it was not that packed when we got there (we ordered our food immediately with our drinks). The waiter was great, a really nice soft spoken guy who was helpful and made sure we were good without crowding around our table to much. If you're looking for a place to have a drink this should satisfy your needs. After passing by Brickhouse Tavern countless times when going to Target, I finally went inside for dinner. On a Tuesday night, we didn't need any reservations and we were given the freedom to choose any table. The waitress was clearly new and very attentive to us. We ordered the chicken pot pie and south paw burger and for dessert, we got the apple crumble and ultimate brownie. The chicken pot pie presentation was underwhelming, but the top was satisfactorily flaky with a yummy interior. I only wish that the flaky exterior was also on the bottom and sides of the pie. My friend made a number of customizations to her burger, and they actually got all of them correct. Our desserts were enjoyable and the scoop of ice cream really tied together the meal. This used to be one of my favorite spots to go. The services and food were always good and they had a good beer selection. However I think this place has gone downhill. I came here a while ago with a friend and it was an okay experience. The food was okay not what I remember and the service was a little slow. Figure it was the pandemic and didn't really think much of it. I recently came here with my wife and I was pretty discouraged by the whole experience. Started off ordering some beers and some waters, beers came eventually waters never came. We ordered the jumbo soft pretzel and it came with a quarter of it a charred soft pretzel. Normally I would blame the wait staff for it but you can see from the picture that you can obviously tell the top left corner is very over cooked, it's petrified and broke as they walked to the table, like it felt like someone took a chunk out of it and replaced it with a Snyders pretzel nugget. For the entree. I got the Mac and cheese burger. It was the best looking burger on the menu which wasn't saying to much. They had a lot of double, triple, and even quadruple decker burgers. All I want is a single patty burger where they burger is close to the size of the bun instead of two patties where the burger is half the size of the bun leaving your first few bites full of bread. I decided to deconstruct the burger and the patties were just too salty. It's hard to regret ordering a burger and I regretted ordering that. The positives were my wife liked most of her shrimp and grits although she did say at the end it felt a little salty. And their beer selection is still pretty good with their beer prices being pretty reasonable. read more

This is the first time gotten a shrimp salad and tails are still on the shrimp. If that was specified on menu. I would not have gotten that. As I went to remove the trails. In that huge salad there was only 6 small shrimp. What looked to be like 1 tomatoe cut up small. And a few croutons. And that was it within a lot of green. Was not a good ratio of ingredients. There are some bugs but its to be expected when eating outdoors (we only saw like 2). The TVs are usually set to sports, so a good place to watch your favorite sports teams. Food & Drinks: The shots were terrible (tequila & jameson) but they were big so I would definitely recommend if you aren't driving but wanna get your money's worth with a shot. The old fashion was strong which was good but the mango mojito was too sweet - I couldn't finish it. The south paw burger was delicious absolutely no complaints. The Mac n cheese burger is relatively new - it was good but the mac n cheese portion was more like just noodles, I didn't get a mac n cheese taste from it. If I would've read my review prior to coming here for the devil eggs, I wouldn't have came. Firstly, let's talk about how someone thought it was a bright idea to fry the deviled eggs, who's taste testing these? We were seated right next to the kitchen who's door does not close. There was no reason for this as we walked pass 5 maybe 6 available tables. Our waiter Braden, Brian, can't recall... clearly he doesn't want to be there. He took our apps and entree at the same time, we already knew what the service was about to give and gave just that. Lazy. I'm usure if he's happy to work there. Shit I unsure if the manager is happy to work there. He walked pass our table more than enough times to inquire about our meal, our experience, anything. No smile no nothing. I'm going to wrap this up, but this place lacks a lot for it to be charging what they do for their entrees. This may also explain why it was empty on a Saturday night. I craved some fish, so I visited the local Brick House Tavern. It is a comfortable seated restaurant and bar. Only two tables were being serviced, so the service was quick. The first thing about this restaurant is that the food portions needed to be more consistent with their advertisement. The fish and chips I ordered, advertised as a three-piece meal, as shown in previous reviews, came to my table as only two pieces. I also ordered a side of shrimp for $10, which came with four shrimp. I was curious about the portions, so from my seat, I called the venue and asked how many pieces came in the side order of shrimp, and the rep said, "Eight pieces." One of the managers must have heard me on the phone while the clerk was talking about shrimp. The lady got on the phone and said the number of shrimp was not eight; it was only four pieces. To top it off, literally, to maximize the illusion of getting more food or raise my cholesterol, they threw all the excess fried crumbed batter that fell off the fish onto the tray, which left my food an oily mess. The deviled eggs were a bit dry and lacking here though. Mozzarella sticks are huge and not your average. Calamari isn't too bad but I'd pick something else. I had to ask for extra lemon to squeeze in it. It tasted better after 4 squeezed wedges. The food was delish. Be careful of the jalapenos in the spicy calamari as it it quite spicy to put an entire slice in your mouth. I had to cut it up and ate it in pieces with every bite of the calamari. The fried chicken salad was huge with plenty of chicken and the shrimp salad was smaller but a decent size with 6 grilled shrimps. I finished my shrimp salad without a question. I can't say Brickhouse would ever be my pick to visit, only time I would show up is if someone else suggests it. I honestly think they are overpriced and the quality is just lacking. There's just nothing spectacular or memorable about their food, super mediocre. The drinks are whatever as well, the only thing is good is the beer but how can you honestly mess that up? Service is okay but I did witness a lot of sanitary issues with their staff members. I hate writing negative reviews about this but it should be addressed -- i saw a waitress used her finger to directly poke at a drink's ice cubes to make it go down in the cup before serving to the customers. She didn't wash or sanitize her hands, she was just all over the place touching everything and really used her fingers to touch someone's ice cubes lol. Then there's a server who was also eating her so called lunch with her fingers while working and serving. I get that it's somewhat busy but either the servers need to work on their sanitary procedures or management should work on a better break schedule for their workers. Other than that, little standards aren't met. Our plates, napkins, utensils were given after we ate halfway into our food. Having our Family Sunday brunch here. We ordered zucchini curls for starter. Then for our entrees, we got Bison Burger, Cuban Pork Belly Sandwich , Wild Mushroom Pizza and Chicken and Waffles. The zucchini curls are crunchy and taste great. The bison patty is grilled, well done. Moist inside, not dry. Taste good. The Cuban Pork Belly sandwich taste great. The wild mushroom pizza has thin crust and were sliced ready to be eaten. Taste good. The chicken and waffles were served on a plate with soft sweet butter on the side. It's good.
