Love eating here when we are on this side of the island. Always love getting the Special because it is loaded with topping and so good. The wings were surprisingly delicious and crispy. Got our food pretty quickly. We ordered 2 pizzas and spaghetti with meatballs. Also a couple sodas. I think it's ridiculous that the fountain sodas have no refills when they cost $4.75 each. Soda syrup is extremely cheap. Spaghetti was great, the pizzas were just OK. We felt like they were lacking in toppings and that the crust to everything else ratio was off- we felt like there was a lot of crust. Game changer- add honey to dip the crust in. Brick Oven Pizza in Kalaheo offers the best Gluten Free and cauliflower crust pizzas. The kitchen is obviously not GF so if you are worried about cross contamination maybe skip it but if not, enjoy! So far, I have not had a negative reaction so until then I will continue to frequent Brick Oven. I love that they offer different bases- marinara or pesto - can't go wrong with either. Husband and I were staying at Marriott Kaua'i Beach Club this past week. Day before leaving we looked for a good pizza place for lunch. Couldn't find one in Lihue so we drove about 20 minutes to this place. Excellent pizza especially the crust! Best pizza we had in a long time. We ordered a two-topping medium pizza and we ate it all! We had seen previous reviews and one comment was about "no refills" on drinks. The cups they use are huge so really no refill is needed. Highly recommend this place. read more

This is a tough one. Years ago when I first came here, it was for a late lunch, all on my own. The staff were attentive, but the restaurant was mostly empty. One big ohana table otherwise (only 7!). The same happened to me again today. Late lunch, party of one, kind tolerance. Staff are clued in, the pizza hasn't changed in years. It is EXCELLENT, nothing has changed in a decade. In a good way. The Italian sausage is so well seasoned with herbs. The offshoot at Wailua was okay, but the original wins every time. Why is it difficult? Because I live closer to Anahola, and on this side, Silver Cloud pizza is the superlative N side choice for me. They could learn from each other, but in both cases, the crust is superior to every/anywhere else. And ingredients are well sourced. 2 great choices for pizza on the island. read more

This pizza is INSANE. We went hear based on recommendation & were blown away. We got a medium pizza for 2 of us, half Hawaiian BBQ chicken & half margherita. The BBQ chicken half was incredible. Chicken was flavorful, sauce was flavorful, pineapple was awesome. Everything about it was heavenly. Margherita was also very nice but not quite on the same level. We also added the garlic to our whole wheat crust which was a good touch. It was a pretty good amount of food that left some room for dessert. But the BBQ chicken definitely left us wanting more. We took it to go and headed down to the water where we watched the sunset from the dock near the Kauai brewery. Wish we had asked for napkins. 10/10 honeymoon food experience! Extremely disappointing experience. Our server was inattentive from the start -- she didn't check on us at all. When I tried to let her know our pizza was incorrect, she cut me off and didn't listen. It wasn't until 15 minutes later that she returned, and I had to explain the issue again. After waiting another 30 minutes with no food, we finally went to the front to ask for our bill just to pay for what we did have. At that point, the waitress insisted the pizza was "almost ready," but it didn't come out until we were literally walking out the door and we refused it. Unfortunately, we never got to eat due to the long wait (not bc it was busy) and lack of communication. Service was poor from beginning to end. We discovered this place in 2006 on our first trip to Kauai and have been back every time we are on island. Always thankful it's still here. The end of an era....We've been coming to this Brick Oven Pizza for over a decade, maybe two, but it was so disappointing this time I believe even nostalgia won't bring us back. We ordered spaghetti & meatballs, which turned out to be hard crunchy marble size meatballs on overcooked pasta, with what tasted like bottom of the pan tomato paste mixed it. Couldn't eat much of it. But then we thought "No worries pizza is coming" and their pizza was always great! But then the crust seemed dry, there wasn't much sauce on it and it simply wasn't the pizza we all remembered. They need to bring the old cooks back or hire someone new. Food was lacking & more than half the tables were empty. There used to be a line out the door no matter when we came. I guess the locals now know better. So sad. read more

Oh wow! The reviews for this place really live up to the quality of the pizza here with some saying it was the best pizza they ever had in their lives. It certainly ranks right up there with some of the most memorable pizza I have ever had. The crust is buttered which makes it extra delicious and all the ingredients are very fresh and assembled by hand in the back incredibly good pizza dough And delicious sauce to boot! Good service they were busy but managed to get our pizza out fairly quickly and we quickly consumed half of it enjoying every single bite along the way. We bought a veggie pizza was grassy but tasted good I love the zucchini they put on it, it was hard tho. I don't remember it being this way the one in Wailua was much better pizza. They closed that one tho! The veggie salads were a joke 9$ for a normal salad however the ranch was hella delicious had to been homemade. We also got chicken wings they were actually drum sticks the BBQ was very spicy nothing special about it , the customers service was very indifferent towards me but very attentive towards my friend. Found this place years ago and still love it. Prices are a bit on the high side, but the pizza might be the best on the island. Great crust, if you like it thin, and get it brushed with the garlic butter for extra flavor. We got the chicken caesar salad, to get some greens in you know, but I'd skip it next time. Not their strong suit. We also did teriyaki wings, which were big and juicy. A small order of 7 was enough of an appetizer to feed four while you wait for the main event. The vibe is totally casual. I like checking out restaurants that have been in business for years as they must be doing something right. The pizza was pretty good. If not for an insane amount of oregano, I would say great pizza. The service was good. But the prices, even by Kauai standards, is expensive. The cocktails were similar in price to local fancy establishments. Food was not inexpensive. And almost $5 for sodas with no refills? Plus charging a credit card fee? I'm glad we visited but likely will not visit again because of the prices.
