    BBQ Hawaiian Chicken Pizza
    Brian M.

We had a craving for pizza while on vacation and thought we would give Brick Oven Pizza a try. It was good pizza. Now, you have to like old school doughy crust, which I do. They also have a few beers on tap so you can pair your pizza with a pitcher of beer. We had three large pizzas for our group of 9 people: pepperoni (good flavor), margarita (decent pie) and their BBQ Hawaiian Chicken (fun local version). This is not a cheap place, but if you need a pizza fix, this will work.

The atmosphere is so cool. Find your state license plate.

Delicious... A must for the pizza cravings while visiting Kauai. The brick oven pizza is delicious and yes get the garlic butter on the crust YUMMY. The spaghetti and sauce screams homemade. The atmosphere is really cool with license plates lining the beams in the building. Service was friendly and fast.

The large margarita pizza was $42, and was the quality of a $20 pizza. Had it been $20, this would be a 4 star review. Also had 2 pizzas that were forgotten about, which didn't help the overall experience.

Great pizza and service. The gluten free was particularly good (for gluten free). This is our second time here and we will be back

How much I paid for shitty service

Honestly I really like the pizza and wings but the customer service was horrendous. I'm visiting from LA and have had my share of bad customer service but this was pretty awful. I felt very ignored on ordering a drink. I would not recommend this place if you are a traveler. The other places that I have visited have been so courteous but not this place.

Half Hawaiian bbq chicken, half margherita, medium pizza. Whole wheat crust with garlic. 11/10

This pizza is INSANE. We went hear based on recommendation & were blown away. We got a medium pizza for 2 of us, half Hawaiian BBQ chicken & half margherita. The BBQ chicken half was incredible. Chicken was flavorful, sauce was flavorful, pineapple was awesome. Everything about it was heavenly. Margherita was also very nice but not quite on the same level. We also added the garlic to our whole wheat crust which was a good touch. It was a pretty good amount of food that left some room for dessert. But the BBQ chicken definitely left us wanting more. We took it to go and headed down to the water where we watched the sunset from the dock near the Kauai brewery. Wish we had asked for napkins. 10/10 honeymoon food experience! Doesn't break the bank quite like other dinner spots.

Is the service here a little slow sometimes? Sure. And I do not care one bit because the pizza is just so good. We discovered this place in 2006 on our first trip to Kauai and have been back every time we are on island. Always thankful it's still here. The ingredients and pizza are so good but the crust is just next level. I literally crave this pizza and hate I'm not close enough to have it whenever I want. Be sure to save the smallest bit of room for a slice of Aloha pie!!! It's the real reason I eat here.

Hoku loves the fresh topping, chicken wings and open face sandwich to name a few!

Fresh topping, ono sauces for checking wings, we love the open face sandwich and fresh salads

The pizza isn't bad but the food is expensive...I know it's Hawai'i but if I'm going to pay $25 for a cheese pizza it's not my first choice.

In town for the day simply to show me an investment property my family and I might be interested in the very near future, before she departed she had to pick up an order of pies to bring back to her family. Of course, I came along for the ride because I liked pie, but I was curious how good they were if she was willing to fly several of them in her carry-on. Founded by Sandy in October 2009, she quickly adjusted her business model from doing six community events a week to her first retail location in Lihue in 2011. The business continued to grow that led to a second location this time in Kalaheo in 2014. Fast-forward to today, the Kalaheo store is the only one standing, and she has cultivated a strong following both near and far of pie fans and the continued support of the local community. Did I choose the right slice for my first time here!? PURCHASE(S) Mango Lilikoi Pie Slice ($8.50): Their most popular pie, they had me at mango! Filled with plump juicy mangoes combined with the just right amount of lilikoi (passionfruit) and topped with a sugar crust. Made with a ton of island macadamia nuts, roasted to a perfect golden brown combined with butter, eggs, sugar, and fresh spices for a nutty tropical sensation, this pie reminded me of a pecan pie but so much better! It was heavy, thick, and required a cold glass of milk to perfectly pair it with. I went nuts for this pie! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=120&select=JfthjT1sMLgeXqbfMPGzhA To-Go Containers ($0.50 x2): For my dessert, I've never been charged this before, but I understood businesses needed to cut/pass along costs as much as possible - c'est la vie. Credit Card Surcharge 3.00% ($0.57): Another pass-along fee that has become more prevalent - oh well. SERVICE I was warmly greeted by a young woman behind the counter who gave me time to review the menu while she offered recommendations. Once I ordered, my items were quickly packed and ready to go - mahalo! PARKING (FREE): We were lucky to grab one of the five small spots in front of their shop (it was very difficult to back out due to the heavily-trafficked thoroughfare). OVERALL The Right Slice offered magical pies both savory and sweet (I must return to try a savory one!) all made from scratch and with a ton of love. The care and pride was tasted in each incredible bite, and I wished I had one to bring back with me after I ate each slice back at the resort. Everything tasted phenomenal, the prices may've been a tad high (but well worth it!), and the service was calming and straightforward. Plus, I always loved to try and support small local mom & pop businesses. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $19.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). The service was outstanding from the hostess, bar tenders, chefs and our wonderful server, Kapua!! She was so friendly and always checked on us without being intrusive. We have been on the island for 6 nights. Each evening we have tried Mai Tai's. Lava Lava's are by far the best!!! They are not too sweet and a good pour! We got there early as the other reviews said it gets crowded and they do not take reservations. We arrived at 5 pm on a Wednesday and were seated right away closest to the beach. For our starter we had edamame which was a large portion and so good. My husband ordered the Chicken Pineapple Rice Bowl and substituted the chicken for the coconut shrimp. The rice was AMAZING as well as the shrimp, but our only complaint was the portion was very small and was served with only 3 shrimp. The picture looks like you get a lot, but it came in a carved out SMALL pineapple. The presentation was beautiful though. I had the Ceasar salad and added chicken. It was so good!!! The lettuce was so crisp! Nothing worse than a Ceasar salad with wilty romaine lettuce. I've had plenty of those in my day. This was one of the best I've ever had! Everything arrived in a timely manner. We had a great night. Side note...they offer free valet parking which is at the very top of the parking lot. I have nothing but high praises for Lava Lava's beach club!! You must check it out for yourself. You will be so happy you did!
