Wow, this place is a hidden gem! We were drawn to the live music and were pleasantly surprised to get a patio seat. Service was fast and friendly - our server even had some funny jokes - made us chuckle. To start we ordered the green papaya salad my hubby ordered a full pour of one of their IPAs, and I ordered two taste glasses - one was the liliko'i and the other was their Mexican style beer. I loved both. We shared a pepperoni and mushroom pizza and asked for a side of ranch. The pizza was very good - the sauce was spot on and just enough cheese. We liked how the crust had seasoning. We took leftovers back to our hotel and had cold pizza for lunch the next day. They even sell cool t-shirts. We bought a couple to commemorate our vacation! We would definitely come back. A friendly and local brewery restaurant with live music and great brews. We arrived late after doing the canyon. Tired, we came into a loud band on the porch outdoor area. (Note live music in Kauai seems to be loud all around) we yelled to the host that we wanted inside seating. We were seated quick. Staff checked on us often and offered insights on the locality. I got a flight of decent brews, and my wife got a special drink made up for her as recommended by staff. We ordered a pizza which was enough for four people. Great taste, and not a long wait. This is the most western brewery in the USA, and it is a great watering hole when cruising the southside of Kauai. Recommend the strong local vibe and friendly staff. It is a bar first, then an eatery. I wish I had more time to look upstairs as there seems to be a lot of retro pinball machines somewhere. I hope to make it back. read more

The site of day 4's lunch, Kauai Island Brewing in the Port Allen area of Eleele is the original location of the popular microbrewery based in the island of Kauai. My wife and I specifically came to the area to sample their beers and try their food, and found the beer to good/great while the food was OK. It opens at 11 on weekdays, and we arrived soon after, so found street parking easily. We were some of the first customers, and our choice of inside seating. The building is two stories, with the upstairs being used as an arcade (classic 80's pinball machines). The large bar is the center of the downstairs, and they sell shop memorabilia as well. Tried a 4 sampler flight (no discount for flight, just sum of the 5 oz beers chosen). Their most popular is the Lilikoi, which we had just tried at a restaurant a couple days before, so we skipped that. Instead we got: Chupa lager (Mexican cerveza which was refreshing), Wheat (which was my least favorite...kinda flat/limp with little flavor), Alaka'I Stout (my favorite, creamy and almost chocolatey), and a Sour with calamansi (which my wife liked the best, I thought it tasted like a shandy). As for food, we got two entrees. My wife got the Kalua Pork Sandwich ($22): pretty much all pulled pork sandwiches are called Kalua in Hawaii, no matter how it is made. That being said, this version was OK with the fries being very good (similar to Five Guys fries, fried in peanut oil maybe). I had my favorite: Loco Moco ($22) which was well prepared, and the white rice was good. But the beef patty was mediocre (tasted like a standard preformed food service patty from frozen...it wouldn't have stood out in a burger). The one egg was cooked well and I really liked the homemade gravy. There is a 3% credit card surcharge, and Toast is the payment processor. read more

Great place to go after a Napali Boat Tour before driving hours back to the north side and after feeling slightly nauseous from motion sickness. I opted for the nachos with pulled pork. It was loaded with plenty of meat. My friend had the coconut shrimp - I tried one and it had the perfect crispness. My other friend ordered a pizza with large pieces of chicken on top - I had a slice the next day as a left over. It was good. Overall a good place with a fun vibe and good service. read more

Great place to stop for a drink for happy hour. We enjoyed our drinks and food in the outdoor patio section. It started pouring late afternoon, but it was fine because we were covered. I enjoyed their IPA. The loko moko was yummy (but full disclosure, I'm a tourist). They have some fun arcade games on the second level, good for kids. read more

This beer is malty, love it! Got a 32oz crowler to take back to the mainland. Brewery decals were $1 a pop, should be free, especially when I buy beer and food. I really wish our experience would have been different. We visited after a whale watching tour so we were hungry. We did visit at about 6pm and were seated immediately but we were only a party of 2. This place is right across the street from all the boat tour companies so that was nice but besides that, meh! The lumpia had some weird, fatty hard pieces of pork. The fish was interesting, it was more of a chicken texture than fish. Fish was also dry and needed lots of lemon and tartar sauce to help it go down. Overall: Very disappointed. Food was good, with exceptions, but the service was bad. Whether you're a tourist or a local, your initial greeting should be friendly, ours was not. We were there for Father's Day just before sunset, there were a few flies when we sat down, but when they brought the food, there were so many flies we had to shoo the flies away and eat at the same time. We noticed other tables had these fly spinners on their tables and we finally had to ask for one. Why wouldn't they just bring it to us? The dogs got water bowls at another table before we got a fly spinner. The dinners were good with the exception of the nachos. It was a good portion, but they packed it so high in a bowl that you could not get to the chips that were under all the toppings and everything kept falling on the table when you tried to get to the chips. It would've been nice if it were on a platter and easy to access the chips and all the toppings. The table service was bad. They took our orders for drinks and food and we didn't hear out of them until he came back and wanted to know if we wanted shots, in a joking manner. We were four adults with two children under six. They also charge a 20% gratuity on parties of six or more, have to pay for bad service. We also were seated on the patio feet from the live music. There was no conversation at the table as we had to compete with the live music and no other option for seating. The merch is too expensive, at the high end here but higher than similar businesses. First and last time for us, being on vacation will try something different. read more

Like this place a lot. Theres a strip of area with some restaurants near the pier for boat tours. We checked it out because we saw some of the reviews here. Ended up loving the food and I wish I could come back and try lots more especially their beers! When we were coming back from the boat tour, one of guides said that she didn't even like beers and she loved the different type of beers here. I had the poke bowl and love the freshness of the fish. My husband had the fish tacos and they were really good too! If we're back on Kauai, we wanna come back here and get our beer on! read more

Got a tshirt because it's awesome I can now say I had a beer at the western most brewery in the world. We didn't get food but it looked really good! The beer was good. We drank Napali Pale Ale and The Fonz. The pale ale was nice and the fonz was very hop forward. Cool experience! This brewery is located next to Port Allen and has a decent size patio. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. The service was very friendly and kept up with our orders. We can here for happy hour and got lots of good appetizers and drink specials. The beer here is fantastic and very fresh. It's a great price during happy hour. The appetizers were very good and filling. After you go on a sail with Captain Andy's or if you are in the area, we recommend you stop by this place for some great comfort food and awesome beer. My favorite brewery on the Kauai, the beer was great and so was the service and food. We decided to stop for a beer and a t-shirt at Kauai Island Brewing. The place is crowded, but there was seating available so we decided to have dinner. I ordered the Seared Ahi Salad and my guy got the Fish & Chips. We both ordered different beers so we could try them. My daughter absolutely loved the fun vibe of the place and French fries. Our waitress was super nice and was busting around keeping all the tables happy. The shirt I bought my BF is probably one of my favorites because of the logo and design. I kept asking to go back all week, as it was a place we all enjoyed - but we had places to explore and food to try. read more

Stopped by here to grab a bite to eat after going on a very adventurous Napali Coast Catamaran Tour. There was live music, which was a nice treat. The food was very tasty and was priced reasonably. Service was good, and we were glad we stopped here. Given the location, this is a great place after doing an excursion. It may also be worth the drive out here if you are looking for a bite to eat, as it is a fun place. If there's music, you should definitely make the drive out here. read more

Finally made it to the main brewpub in Port Allen after a few meals at Koloa. First thing to say is...it's worth the 15 minute drive from Poipu to Port Allen, this home base for KIBC is tops. I think but am not sure that the menu has more here. Definitely the service was 100%... the beer was served nice and cold and the food was delivered piping hot as it should be. Happy hour from 3-5, discounts on pints and pupus. My wife and I made a good meal out of the happy hour menu: Crab cakes, a 7 oz steak, onion rings and lumpia (crab and shrimp egg rolls). Two beers plus a 1 quart crowler...total bill $100 plus tip. Great service, nice outdoor deck seating,friendly, delicious, marked down for happy hour...who could ask for anything more? Our server stopped by to apologize that it may take a little time as she was the only server working. She was awesome. The service wasn't slow and she stayed on top of each and every table. Mr. B started with their Chicken Skin IPA. He loved it. For lunch he chose two mahi mahi fish tacos. One had fried fish and the other was grilled. He said they both were delicious, the fish was fresh and the tacos were packed with flavor. I chose the Pulled Pork Sliders. The pork was super lean, tender and oh so juicy. Served with a fresh and crispy slaw, house made barbecue sauce and house cut fries. Every bit was scrumptious and I would have that dish again and again. What a great spot to unwind on a Sunday night! Sure enjoy that live music by Wrongway Jackson, there on the outside porch. Wife said the crab cakes were good, son said the spicy poke wasn't spicy at all and the onion rings and the fries were ok. The onion rings come with a kinda spicy ketchup that I didn't care for so I asked for a side of ranch. I didn't know it was $3 for a cap full of ranch dressing overall it was ok.
