I have never left a bad review for a dentist until now and I'm only doing it because of the dentist himself. The receptionist was super great. She fit me in the schedule last minute which was beyond awesome. From the moment I called to me being seen, not even 10 minutes have passed. This was excellent. But the dentist,.... I honestly felt that he was either inexperienced or discriminating because of a pre- existing medical condition that has nothing to do with my dental needs or care. In today's day and age and with millions of people with my condition, a well informed and educated dentist should know better. I'd go somewhere else. That's my recommendation. read more

Sounds like I am not the only one with this bad experience. I used my groupon with them. Went in and got what felt like 100 xrays. Then the dentist came in and took a ton of pictures of my teeth. Finally she cleaned my teeth. He did it very quickly and a bit painful. They would spray water in my mouth and not suction it our so I felt like I was drowning. After he was done (he did not floss) the assistant polished my teeth. Once again not well. When she was done I was sent to another room with a man that did not work on me at all and he said I had 7 cavities! I asked for him to show me on the xrays and he could not do it for everyone. I just visited this practice for the second, and last, time. As others have said, at my first visit he recommended all kinds of work I don't need. I've had several dentists in the last 25 years turn out to be liars who just want to make a buck doing unnecessary work. So, I brushed it off, and felt like the cleaning experience was good enough. VETERANS: I was able to be fit in on the same day I called, they took my "Delta Dental Insurance" once I upgraded my Tricare so no out of pocket fees for my first in depth appointment. It took a while to call & check out dentists in Dallas, save yourself the trouble, this dentist is great. WENT FOR: First time getting my teeth cleaned, x-rayed & checked for cavities etc. since getting out of active STAFF: Knowledgeable & polite front desk staff, fast dental assistant & great dentist. Really happy I chose this place, everything felt clean and new. Services were provided extremely quickly,affordably & professionally. I had an alarmingly similar experience to Kat M. I also came here for the Groupon. The groupon is for "exam, xrays, and cleaning" but when I called to schedule the appointment I was informed that they cleaning happens at the dentist's discretion, and if he decided that I needed a deep cleaning there would not be a cleaning done the day of the appointment and I would have to wait 3 months for a deep cleaning. To preface, I've had Invisalign for the past 2 years so I'm at the dentist's office every six weeks and receive very routine check ups. I stay on top of my 6 month cleanings as my orthodontist recommends, and my last check up 6 months ago came back perfectly fine as normal. I've had one cavity my entire life and I'm religious when it comes to caring for my teeth. My expectation was a good deal on something I needed done routinely, so I was taken aback from the get go when setting the appointment. On the day of the appointment, my xrays were taken and I was seated in the dentist's chair. He poked in my mouth for a bit, did a very half-assed cleaning (compared to the half dozen others I've had over the last 2 years), then left the assistant to polish my teeth. I was led not to the front desk, but an intimidating-looking consultation room off to the side to review my exam. The receptionist came in and claimed they found EIGHT cavities. Like Kat M., I also told them that I will be seeking a second opinion and will update this review as soon as I find out what another dentist says. I personally do not recommend this Groupon or this dentistry practice, I felt that it was VERY bait-and-switch. The dentist is not attentive AT ALL, explained NOTHING to me himself yet they were quick to toss as $700+ quote at me and pressured me to schedule another appointment with them even though I'd already informed them that I would be seeking a second opinion. The whole process felt like a major money grab and frankly, rather scam-y. read more

I bought the Yelp Deal on this page earlier today for my husband, AFTER checking with BrickRow Dentistry and ensuring that they will honor the deal. They said the deal was valid and yes they would honor it. After I purchased the voucher however, the business called back, saying that the dentist just decided that he will not honor the deal after all. What the .. so shady! Needless to say, I am requesting a refund from Yelp and will never be patronizing this dentist. If they can't even honor a simple deal, who knows what else is up their sleeves. read more

Went to my family dentist yesterday. After being told by Brick Row I had 3 cavities back in August, I confirmed I DO NOT have any new cavities. I showed him my paperwork and the sheet they quoted me to fill my cavities and which teeth they said I had cavities on. Thank God I didn't waste the $405 he quoted me to fill those fake cavities! My real dentist did say that those teeth show a little staining but that's normal and they aren't cavities. He also informed me that if a dentist were to fill every tooth that was stained we would have fillings on all of our teeth. So save yourself the time and money and don't come here! read more

Dr. Minh Nguyen is a SCAM ARTIST! Buyers beware! All groupon buyers please realize that even the fine print on groupon is lacking thorough information concerning the way this practice conducts their business. Once you purchase the $29 groupon and go to the office the doctor has to subjectively "determine" whether or not you need a deep cleaning. If you need one then you have to pay an extra premium to use this groupon. They will only do a regular cleaning on you once you preface with a deep cleaning. First of all, why would you need a regular cleaning AFTER a deep cleaning? Nonsensical. Secondly, of course they're going to say you need a deep cleaning; it's obvious by the way the office staff repeatedly bombards you with questions of whether or not you understand their terms. Lame. Thirdly, never once as of 09.23.14 does the groupon ever mention any of this, or that you even have to undergo a consultation. Even in the fine print. Smdh. If this practice was straightforward with the way they conduct their business they would have a lot more happier customers. Absolutely ridiculous. Will not come back here and definitely will not use groupon again. As aforementioned, Dr. Minh Nguyen is a scam artist. According to the rest of the reviews all he cares about is the money and will do anything to get it. He went to Nova Southeastern dental school which is a diploma factory, to begin with. I've had four checkups and had two cavities filled over the two years I've visited Brick Row Dentistry. The office is very clean and the staff very courteous. The dentist is very good with the scraping thing that he uses for cleaning. I've had other dentists accidentally scrape my gums in the past but Dr. Nguyen is pretty accurate. He's a little hard to understand but the dental assistants do a good job of explaining everything. Appointments are very quick--usually around 30-45 minutes. My only gripe is that when I set an appointment at 9:00AM--which I have the last couple times--I expect someone to be there a little earlier than that. They open at 9:00AM. I usually show up at least 10 minutes early and I've arrived before the dentist and dental assistants twice. read more

I was in severe pain, I did not have an appt. but was seen the same day as a walk in. After my initial consultation it was determined that I need filling work done. Brick Row Dentistry is great place to get your teeth checked and also for the basic clean-up. I went their few days ago and got a great service from them (Cleaning Teeth). I switched over from Richardson Dentistry due to a long wait and sometime things were overpriced with my Dental Insurance. They layout a very simple plan for my cavities fixed which i could afford without any problem. I didn't have to get any dental loans or worried about paying out own pocket expense.. I'll definitely go back to Brick Row for my dental check-ups and recommend other families to join their dental needs with them. read more

Today I got an email reminder of my dental cleaning from BrickRow... Unfortunately, I am no longer in the DFW area or I would be back in a second!! I first gave a review of BR on Google several years ago after having a very horrible bait & switch experience with Monarch dental... At that time, BR was a very new practice and seemingly didn't have Yelp and other ratings available...So now, I'm fulfilling my want several years ago and adding an additional note for people who've not got enough sense to see in between the lines when reading reviews and making a decision about a business. I do believe that person using a Groupon offer for dental care has, in the past, taken very little concern or care for dental health, which may put a greater majority of them in poor dental health... And maybe Brick Row should accept some of the blame for reaching out to provide this class of people some dental care and good valuable information about what they've done to their mouth, as some people cannot handle the truth..... However, when the opportunistic want something for nothing; but refuse to accept some responsibility for the canvas they've brought to the dental artist... I'm sure the horrible ratings will surely follow.... Some people cannot handle the truth of their yuck mouth. Now obviously dental care is a science and the professionals make a discretionary choice in the best manner to handle not only the dental problems, but also long term objectives for good dental health for the dental genetics & lifestyle of the patient... After going to Monarch, I was told I needed a deep cleaning and nothing else was going help. However, after going to BR the visit resulted in exam showing of just as many pocket sizes 1 & 2 as it did 4 & 5.... While the Dr did suggest I could benefit from a deep cleaning in some areas where the 4 & 5 pockets were; he clearly explained in his opinion, the expense was not worth the results and suggested we do the basic cleaning and gave me some home methods & dental health plan that would be sufficient... I valued the comprehensive information and given the choice; maybe all the hateful Yelp ratings were much more advanced and quite the contrary.... a simple cleaning would be a futile exercise in dental health ?? Yuck mouth from poor dental genetics and/or concern is no reason to take it out on a practice that has OBVIOUSLY done a great deal of good work to a vast number of people... as shown on Google Reviews. After seeing this Yelp of overwhelmingly piss poor reviews vs the Google & my personal experience with both the Dr. His wife and the staff.... I have a very poor opinion of Yelp and obviously all these Yuck mouth people that cannot accept personal responsibility for the condition of their gums & teeth and expect a substandard blind eye to the way they've been living...
