I think they have closed permanently. I've been by many times and never see any lights or Vehicles parked.

The farm-to-fork approach truly shines in every dish. The king salmon and summer Marea were, without question, the best my husband and I have ever had. Each bite delivered a perfect harmony of flavors that felt both vibrant and refreshing. The bread service, especially the focaccia, was outstanding, and the crispy cauliflower was another standout. Every dish felt creative, fresh, and beautifully executed. Pat, our amazing server, made every part of dinner a pleasure. From the hostess to Chef Nathan and the dessert team, every interaction added to the experience. For a little while, we were able to forget the chaos of the outside world and just exist in a small bubble of incredible food, wonderful people, and a genuinely memorable

We had a lovely time though we weren't thrilled about sitting in the tiny side room at the tiny 4-person bar with our backs to the room...it felt cramped. Our server helped us choose the perfect bottle of wine from an extensive collection. The apples and rice appetizer was excellent..like arancini balls. My husband had the duck and liked it. I had the lumache which was just ok. The pasta was a little too al dente and the large clumsy shells didn't seem like the right shape for the delicate dish. It was supposed to come with shrimp, but surprise...nope! It came with lobster. I find lobster a bit sweet and thought shrimp would have worked better. This girl is usually in the clean plate club when it comes to pasta and seafood dishes but not tonight. I will say that the dessert alone was worth the one hour drive.. the smoked smores arrived with a bell jar of smoke which the server whisked off to reveal a delectable gooey to-die-for cake smothered in caramel and marshmallow. Did I mention it came with two cups of hot white chocolate to pour over the whole thing? Omg..drool-worthy.

There is a shop right in the building and there is also a shop right outside of the restaurant if you need to kill time. Service was friendly but a bit scattered. There were times during my meal that my water was refilled without asking, but then later in the meal we had to hunt our server down for a water refill and for our check. The breakfast buffet has a nice variety of options. Bacon, two types of sausage, scrambled eggs, an egg scramble with peppers and onions, Amish cornmeal mush (it was served in fried cubes similar to hash brown consistency, biscuits and gravy and several dessert options. The apple crisp was warm and delicious. there was a frozen pineapple and banana desert that had too much banana flavor for my taste, but mu husband really enjoyed it. They also had fresh fruit and individual yogurts. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and food. It is a perfect place for a tasty meal of comfort food. But the size and pace of it made it feel less homemade and cozy and more corporate and rushed.

During our visit yesterday, all of the hot buffet items were cold with the exception of the broasted chicken which was good, however it ran out for about 15 minutes as it was popular since again all the other hot entrees were cold. Additionally at least three of the buffet plates had residual food after washing. Our server was nice and attentive, however the cost wasn't worth it, given the food was cold. It's been at least a decade since I was last there and now I remember why. We should have just driven the extra 15 minutes to Walnut Creek.

They let me have a window table on request. For $14.99 you can get their salad bar only, the dinner and lunch buffet is $19.99. From a value standpoint you can't beat that. A buffet can't get any better than this, they also have a menu that you can order off of. This review is for their Walnut Creek location, there is also a location right off of I-71. The food at both locations has been outstanding over the years. They have a banquet room overlooking beautiful Ohio farm country.

We chose to order off the menu instead of the buffet because we chose for better dinning. Salad and bread came to the table and was delish! As we enjoyed, we overheard the table behind us complain about lukewarm chicken. Kind of disappointing to overhear but we figured it came from the buffet. Our dinners took a while to come out so we assumed ours would be just fine. WRONG! I ordered three-piece dark meat, and it was lukewarm and very dry, like it sat under a heat lamp for some odd reason. My wife ordered three-piece white meat and found it extremely dried out and the skin was very dark almost burned like it stayed too long in the oven. I don't understand what is going on in the kitchen, but this is NOT the Der Dutchman that we've known in the past. It was always a pleasure to enjoy home cooked meals there. I'm very sorry to give such a bad review on a place we've loved to eat at but I believe knowledge is power and Der Dutchman should be looking at these two issues with summer travel upon them.
