The polarizing reviews kind of scared us away from doing a whole dinner experience here so I'm glad…read morewe went to just the happy hour. BF and I stayed at the Landoll's Mohican castle for one night and stopped by here at around 3ish for their happy hour. It's pretty annoying that their happy hour is 3-4pm instead of a 4 or 5 but there are very limited options around here. Anyways, the menu online does not match what they currently have so I wish they would update! Thankfully I don't have any dietary restrictions or allergies, only strong preferences so the subs weren't dealbreakers. We ordered 4 things off the menu and the wings were the best. Small but perfectly crispy and already seasoned even before the sauce! I got 2 different sauces on the side to try and the garlic one was better than the ginger soy one. The French onion soup had the bread INSIDE the soup which took up a lot of real estate and soaked up all the broth. The melted cheese on top like a Kraft single instead of provolone. The shoestring fries were so skinny and tiny. The bier cheese was good and creamy but there were no chives and I had to ask for them even though that was in their description. Portions were small, prices were average but we still enjoyed our meal very much due to the intimate setting and library-like atmosphere. Our server was very friendly and helpful!

First, they…read morecouldn't find our reservation even with the verification code number I gave them. the waitress brought us rolls but no silverware until we asked for them two times. Then my nephew ordered an appetizer before dinner and she never brought it until he asked 2 times where is it. She brought it in a carry-out after we were all done eating telling him she was sorry and she took it off the bill. Mind you, it's he Birthday too! We had to ask another waitress for a water refill because she was never around. Worst experience I've ever had at a supposed to be high end restraurant. First time I never left a tip! I felt bad but if your working in a place like that, you better know your job!

Stopped in 6 o'clock on a Thursday night. (They do not take reservations for parties of less than…read moreeight) and we had a 45 minute wait. French fries are frozen with a little bit of coating on them. (I prefer hand cut fries) The menu is varied so you should be able to find something. There seems to be an awful lot of spicy dishes on the menu. So, my friend ordered the Caesar salad and it comes with cavatappi pasta, which we found interesting on a Caesar salad, but she said it was good. Her husband ordered the glazed salmon, a baked potato with cheese and bacon, a bowl of chili with cheese and bacon as his appetizer, and he was surprised that the spice was as high on the glaze rather than sweet, but he still enjoyed it. My husband had the fish and chips and he said they were good. I had the crispy spicy chicken salad, and I took the ginger dressing on the waitresses' advice. It was good, but the chicken wasn't hot. It was room temperature!! I would try something else if I return. Reason for 4 stars-there seem to be a lot of empty tables and a very long wait time as there were lots of waiters and waitresses. Three of us drank ice water one had a sweet tea. With tip and the mandatory convenience fee for use of a credit card .... dinner was slightly over $100 for four of us.

We had a lovely time though we weren't thrilled about sitting in the tiny side room at the tiny 4-person bar with our backs to the room...it felt cramped. Our server helped us choose the perfect bottle of wine from an extensive collection. The apples and rice appetizer was excellent..like arancini balls. My husband had the duck and liked it. I had the lumache which was just ok. The pasta was a little too al dente and the large clumsy shells didn't seem like the right shape for the delicate dish. It was supposed to come with shrimp, but surprise...nope! It came with lobster. I find lobster a bit sweet and thought shrimp would have worked better. This girl is usually in the clean plate club when it comes to pasta and seafood dishes but not tonight. I will say that the dessert alone was worth the one hour drive.. the smoked smores arrived with a bell jar of smoke which the server whisked off to reveal a delectable gooey to-die-for cake smothered in caramel and marshmallow. Did I mention it came with two cups of hot white chocolate to pour over the whole thing? Omg..drool-worthy.

It's a big restaurant off of a country road with plenty of parking. As of two weeks ago they were doing work on the highway that was kind of unpleasant with grated roads and lane closures but it looks like it will be done soon maybe.... Anyway, it's a large space with a gift shop and shabby chic decor that all appeared to be for sale since everything has a price tag on it even in the restaurant. The service was pleasant enough. The menu has fairly straightforward cafe like offerings of sandwiches and salads. I wanted something light so I opted for the cesar salad in spite of my reservations when it said tomatoes and olives were on it. Weird but whatever chicken, lettuce, croutons and cesar dressing still felt on brand so I went for it. This is not a cesar salad. It was a salad with balsamic dressing of some kind, toasted bread with the crust cut off and a cold chicken breast. And, it comes with bread but I was told they didn't have rye so I ended up with sourdough that was also not sourdough and the waitperson didn't bring it until I was mostly through eating my refrigerator cold chicken. Just, yikes. Additionally, I still don't know how there was rye for my sister's sandwich but I wasn't allowed to order it with my food. As for her lunch, the pastrami was fine but with a lackluster amount of meat. The French onion soup was the only thing that felt reasonable with quality and price. All in all, I think the snack bars or even grocery stores in the area/ Amish country appeared to have better offerings. I wouldn't recommend this place for lunch. The gift shop was cute and reasonably priced so maybe check it out for that but that's it.
