The service was excellent--everyone was friendly, attentive, and made the experience enjoyable. Here's what I ordered: * Zimmburger (7/10): Very well made and cooked nicely. The only reason it wasn't higher is that I'm not a fan of mustard, but that's just personal preference. * 21 pieces of shrimp (8/10): Really good--crispy and flavorful. * Cottage cheese (8/10): Fresh and exactly what I was expecting. * Fresh-cut fries (9/10): Easily one of my favorite parts of the meal. Crispy, fresh, and delicious. * Peanut butter pie with ice cream (8.4/10): A great dessert to finish the meal. Rich and satisfying without being overwhelming. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely come back. If you're looking for a classic family restaurant with a nostalgic atmosphere, good service, and tasty food, Mellor's is worth a visit.

The Three Cheese Grilled Cheese had an insane cheese pull and was loaded with melty, delicious cheese. The tater tots were surprisingly flavorful, seasoned with a unique blend that definitely had onion and a hint of garlic, along with other spices I couldn't quite identify--but they were fantastic! The Mouthful definitely lives up to its name. It's huge, incredibly filling, and absolutely worth ordering if you're hungry. To top it all off, we tried the crème brûlée for the first time ever, and it was the perfect way to end the meal. It was delicious and made for an awesome first experience with the dessert. Overall, South Street Grill exceeded all expectations. It does get busy, which isn't surprising considering how good the food is, but it's easy to get to and well worth the wait. A MUST-TRY if you're in the area! We'll definitely be back!

The service was amazing, I am pretty sure I had 3 different people waiting on me and I am almost sure the owner made sure all went well. I did sit out back since they had live music playing inside and that was a wee too loud for me. I didn't drink any alcohol since I had a 2.5 hour drive home, but if I were staying closer I would have had something with the amazing burger and fries. One of the best cheap burger I have had in a long time. The burger was less than $10 plus the basket of fries less than $5. What a value for your money. Well, last week I re-visited my favorite restaurant in celebration for our daughter passing a…read morecertification exam. We started with the Bread Service which was a wonderful contrast to our last visit of the red cornbread. It wasn't a typical Focaccia as it was a crusty mini bread loaf topped with a sea salt I believe. The butter seemed standard noting it was listed as cultured sea salt butter;however the Housemade Ricotta, Strawberry Red Pepper Jam in the mini jar was spectacular. I didn't find any notes of strawberries but it had cherry tomatoes, whole garlic and olive oil in it. We weren't asked for our drinks request so we stuck with water(small oversight). Interestingly, our server came back to our table and said that she didn't have the beer available that I wanted. First, I never ordered a beer and not asked and second, I don't drink. So now, our appetizers arrive. The Carolina Squash Blossom was okay, but I'll pass as the crunchy texture was odd and there wasn't much blue crab present. The Calamari Fritti was definitely not popular with my family. The dish included Jimmy Red Corn Meal Dusted Crisp Calamari & Fried Green Tomatoes, Crumbled Goat Cheese, Crisp Ramps, Calabrian Chili-Sorghum Aioli. Despite the appealing ingredients the dish really lacked seasoning and salt. My grilled 16 oz bone in pork chop came pre-sliced which I've never had done with a pork chop but plated well. It came with purple cabbage purée and a sweet and sour root vegetable that tasted just like mashed sweet potatoes. The dish included ramps that seemed fried but really not edible. The application of this wild leek didn't seem to fit the dish as it was very coarse. My wife enjoyed her New York Strip Steak topped with Rock Lobster and a side of Gnocchi & Parmesan Crème. My college daughter ordered the New York Strip Steak also but her was extremely over salted. They re-fired a slightly smaller steak and that came out perfect and delivered by the Chef apologizing. Service recovery goes a long way and they redeemed themselves with dessert. Thanks for converting my opinion as 50% of my review and experience is based on service and or service recovery. We will be back definitely.

It's a big restaurant off of a country road with plenty of parking. As of two weeks ago they were doing work on the highway that was kind of unpleasant with grated roads and lane closures but it looks like it will be done soon maybe.... Anyway, it's a large space with a gift shop and shabby chic decor that all appeared to be for sale since everything has a price tag on it even in the restaurant. The service was pleasant enough. The menu has fairly straightforward cafe like offerings of sandwiches and salads. I wanted something light so I opted for the cesar salad in spite of my reservations when it said tomatoes and olives were on it. Weird but whatever chicken, lettuce, croutons and cesar dressing still felt on brand so I went for it. This is not a cesar salad. It was a salad with balsamic dressing of some kind, toasted bread with the crust cut off and a cold chicken breast. And, it comes with bread but I was told they didn't have rye so I ended up with sourdough that was also not sourdough and the waitperson didn't bring it until I was mostly through eating my refrigerator cold chicken. Just, yikes. Additionally, I still don't know how there was rye for my sister's sandwich but I wasn't allowed to order it with my food. As for her lunch, the pastrami was fine but with a lackluster amount of meat. The French onion soup was the only thing that felt reasonable with quality and price. All in all, I think the snack bars or even grocery stores in the area/ Amish country appeared to have better offerings. I wouldn't recommend this place for lunch. The gift shop was cute and reasonably priced so maybe check it out for that but that's it.

My BF was so enamored with Oscar that we might have to stay at one of the honeycomb suites just to lure Oscar into staying a night with us, LOL! So back to the restaurant here--wow! I'm not easily impressed with fine dining or upscale American fare but this place gave me a great experience. We didn't have reservations but they were able to offer us the last table for two. The ambiance was classy, modern with a classic twist and filled with complementary lighting for that romantic view. Our waiter was animated, warm and very knowledgeable about all the dishes. The free "bread" that was offered was so unique and good we bought a second helping. I had a clams tapas dish that had a good enough portion to keep me full! BF and I were impressed with the taste, presentation, speed of service and menu selection. It was more upscale but not overly expensive. Just wonderful. Would love to come back just to try their brunch.
