I met my wife at Brickers pub, she got there before me and had already a beverage. We were two of three patrons at the establishment. The bartender was in a deep conversation with the only other customer. After noticing me it still took some time for him to stop by to take my drink order. We ordered the broasted chicken wing appetizer, which said that it would be 8 chicken wings. When the order arrived at the table, there were 4 chicken wings cut in half (8 pcs), disappointing. Brickners gave us the best "random" meal on our road trip. They do make it clear on their website and on the door that they are a 21 and over establishment. We had a late dinner inside and it's really dark in there, so you won't see any pics of our food for this place. The margarita was tasty, as was the white queso & chips appetizer. My husband had the spicy chicken wrap and it was soooo good that he didn't even offer me a bite. Ha! I ordered the broasted chicken wings with a side house salad. Dont let the exterior trick you into thinking its mediocre inside. It is a pretty slick little hang out spot. The few times i have been here, we have had the same staff and they are very friendly and inviting. I have not had the chance to partake in the foods other than a late night menu of some bread sticks that were really good. It came with a cheese sauce that was really good.. almost like a bacon, broccoli soup but mellow and good. This'll be a favorite goto place of mine for the future! read more

I feel an honest review is in order. I ordered chicken strips to go for lunch. I spent almost $17 when giving $3 tip. What I got wouldn't be enough for a two year toddler. The chicken strips were the size of French fries. Go elsewhere unless you want to be ripped off and still hungry. read more

Brickers is a great little place to run in and get bar food. They have excellent fish tacos. I also enjoy their fried cheese ball appetizer. The service was slow. I think that's very common nowadays at restaurants. It seemed there was one waitress taking care of everyone. It's also a great place to meet up with friends and just catch up. I've lived in Brownsburg for 14 years but had never been to Brickers. My husband and I decided to give it a try for dinner on a Saturday night since we didn't feel like venturing out of our west side bubble. It's a standard bar with plenty of seating (booths and tables, along with seats at the bar). Our server was friendly and attentive. I had the pollock sandwich, which I saw on Yelp but was not on their menu, so you have to ask for it. It's a huge sandwich, and could definitely be split between 2 people. Stopped by Brickers Pub for some dinner. Fran our server was friendly and was quick to get our drinks while we decided what food to order. My son ordered chicken nachos as an appetizer ("can we start with") followed by our dinner orders. Time goes by and our server gets busier with new customers and one of the kitchen staff brought our dinners. He left our dinners on our table but seemed in a hurry and left before we could ask about our appetizer. Then after we're well into our dinners, and we still haven't seen our server the chicken nachos finally arrive. When I mentioned they weren't really an appetizer anymore, he became agitated and replied "oh so you want me to eat them? Today's my birthday!" Taken back I wasn't sure what to say other than I was just pointing out the appetizer was served well after we started our dinners, and it wasn't what we expected. Now he's elevated his voice with "OH so you DO want me to eat them?!" in a threatening, confrontational manner. Shocked, I asked him if he was actually trying to start a fight with a customer because that's what it seemed like. His response? "No, I don't fight old men." Well I found that very insulting, and said F you. Was that the best response? No, but I felt very threatened and disrespected. All he had to do was acknowledge their error and issue a simple apology, and none of this would happen. As a footnote I've never had an awful experience like this at ANY restaurant and would never dream of saying something like that to a server or restaurant employee. I have a lot of respect for what they do, and it's not easy work. In the end, the server returned, apologized and took the appetizer off the bill. I took my now cold half-eaten tenderloin sandwich home in a box. Never again! read more

Breakers has been one of our favorite places for over 10 years. The food has stayed great even though the management in ownership has changed. However, the place needs several upgrades and repairs. The seats are ripped. There's a big crack in one of the walls. The patio is very dirty. I'm sure it would help the business if these repairs and cleanups were made. read more

I was in the area on business and wanted a quick dinner. There is plenty of parking though I was there on a Monday night. I sat at the bar and was quickly served. They have a good selection of beers on tap and a full bar. They have a good selection of things to eat and I went with the club sandwich with fries. Chicken tenders were scorched, beer pint was $9, bartender didn't know what beer was on tap when it was right in front of them, brought a salad out with a tiny tomato sliced up and didn't bring the right salad dressing, saying she just guessed? Great vibe and atmosphere. My experience was soured by a specific individual who works in the kitchen. I went to the restroom shortly after arriving and this employee did NOT wash his hands. Then, and I can't make this stuff up, the same guy proceeded to have a violent sneezing fit (I sat at the bar with a direct view of the kitchen). He didn't really even try to contain it and acted like he was putting on a show. Ruined my appetite. Whoever this individual is he needs basic hygiene training in the worst way. read more

We have been to and ordered carryout from this place for several years. The food is pretty decent. Mostly your typical bar fare of burgers, pizza, etc. The hot cheese balls appetizer is really good and popular. Go for the house fries instead of the regular crinkle cut frozen fries that come with your meal. It is nice that smoking is no longer allowed because it is a small bar and ventilation was bad. I can only comment for the service we have received when dining in and it has always been decent with no problems. The fish sandwich is good and my husband really likes the dyno burger. This is not your typical bar. There is outdoor seating when the weather is nice. It's a smoke free environment. There are a fair number of tvs for watching sports, which is really good. But what has surprised me the most is the quality of food that is offered. They do offer some of the typical "bar food" that you would expect at establishments like this, but they also offer food you wouldn't normally get at a bar. The burgers are good. The Caesar salad could go toe to toe with a nicer restaurant.. Taylore, who had been my bartender most of the times I've been there....is awesome for her attention and service. SO GLAD Bburg has this bar in town because you can only do BWW a few times before it gets old. The food is delicious and fairly priced. Never a long wait. Always an open table - even on Daytona 500 and Super Bowl days. Friendly staff. Fish tank behind the bar is a nice touch (just moved here from FL so it felt like home!) Fun, LOUD, and crazy atmosphere tonight when we arrived with lingering Colts fans celebrating. We're now enjoying the next football game with the crowd. Enjoy pool? The Pool tables are in the next room as you walk through the dining area. Smoking is no longer allowed in the bar which made a huge difference...you can breathe! And No inhaler for me! I ordered a Stromboli with sweet potato fries. Lots of sausage, peppers and smothered in cheese with a nice pizza sauce on a lightly toasted sub bun. A decent portion of sweet potato fries are one of the sides offered without an up charge. My husband's Cajun Grilled Tenderloin was flavorful, tender but a touch stringy tonight which is a first for either of us. Three types of fries are offered which is Crinkle, Regular and Sweet Potato fries. Each are good but my favorite is the sweet potato fries and his is the regular fries. The Reuben is also very good with the Cornbeef smothered in sauerkraut, Swiss Cheese and thousand island dressing. Be sure to checkout their daily lunch and dinner specials. Our server was excellent, attentive, friendly and very pleasant especially after dealing with the game crowd. Brickers is open late and serves the regular menu until 10:00 p.m. Sunday - Thursday. After 10:00 pm only pizza, bread sticks and chips & salsa are served. Friday and Satuday regular menu is served until 11:00 pm then same after hours options are offered as during the week. I'm sure we'll be back more often now that smoking has been banned. read more

We won't be going back. I have over 55 of their beer glass magnets on my fridge, but I am not "regular" enough to be valued as a customer. There was one table of about eight who decided that the IU game was an excuse to yell, scream, and whistle so loud that no one else in the place could enjoy their meal. Other guests had left due to the noise from that ONE table. We would have left too, but we had already ordered our food (which was not as good as it used to be). We asked our server if they be advised to tone it down. We were told they could not do so because they were "regulars." We moved to a back room when it became unbearable (they kept getting worse) and were called "a$$holes" and told to "F### off" by that table as we left. At least one followed to attempt to physically intimidate us. (If we had known there was service in that back room, we would have started there.) We asked to speak with the owner, who told us he could not tell them to quiet down because "this is a bar." Had the whole bar, or half the bar, been that enthused about the game we would have joined in the fun, but it was one LOUD table holding the entire place hostage. So sad to see what once was a great place go down hill so quickly. New owner? We didn't see any of our favorite wait staff either. read more

After all the hype I read on the Avon chatter I had to give this place a try, unfortunately I left a little disappointed :( the services was great don't get me wrong but the food it was a little bit under par for me. First off from the outside of this place it looks like a strip club, the windows are dark black, it was hard to find the entrance to this place if it wasn't for the sign on the door I would not have how to go inside. When you walk in the door it immediately smells like fish I myself personally do not like that smell so that was first strike on my list. I asked for a drink menu and there was only five to choose from other than the mini beers that they had on tap I opted to get the Captain Morgan in the bucket it tasted pretty good but it could have used a little bit more rum, like most mixed drinks. On the plus side I did get to take the drink buvket home:) We started out with their loaded nachos and we added chicken I thought it was just okay it could have been a lot better had it been melted cheese vs shredded cheese that was melted second of all I ordered the chicken strips with french fries. the chicken strips taste like they came from Sam's Club and they just deep-fried them, the same with the fries. I would definitely skip ordering this next time around. my husband ordered the taco salad which he said was okay but again the food was not a wow factor in my opinion. The only thing I found was interesting was at the bottom of your glass was a letter and if you spell out the word workers you get $7 off your next beer,which again was a little overpriced in my opinion. Overall this is not a place I will rush back to anytime soon; on the plus side,for some, it was smoke-free but I would have rather of smelled cigarettes than that nasty fish:( read more

Everything we tried was really good. We started with the tenderloin squares. It was a Breaded Tenderloin just cut up. Feel it's over priced. It costs as much as getting a sandwich and fries. My husband got the Quesadilla Burger with upgraded fries to cheese fries. He enjoyed every bit of the burger. I got the Philly cheesesteak. The beef had good flavor (maybe a bit to much pepper). The bread was very soft and good amount of onions, peppers and cheese. I had the fries with it, just basic crinkles. read more

The bartender was running the entire front end for the Sunday lunch crowd and she did a great job of keeping up and keeping us informed on our food progress. The problem was that the food entrees were disappointing. The breadsticks came out first as an appetizer (5 for $10). Sure, they were on the high end of prices, but these were delicious and baked perfectly! The cheese sauce that came with them was also quite good. We were off to a good start! My wife wanted the grilled chicken taco but not the taco shell, so they accommodated her request and put it on a plate. It looked appetizing and had a nice amount of veggies to go with the chicken. The problem was that the chicken was really dry. I tried a bite and agreed with her assessment. For my entree, I went with the Reuben and the Sidewinder fries as a side. The fries were perfect! Really liked those thick cut swirls of potato. But the Reuben was disappointing. First, the cheese they use had the same smell as the Kraft Parmesan cheese. I know it was Swiss and tasted okay, it was just this musty smell every time I lifted the sandwich up to take a bite. And the corned beef was just not cooked long enough. I knew it was okay to eat since beef goes through the curing process, but the beef was tough and had no juice. I've had really great Reuben style sandwiches at Turchetti's and the Bloomington Sandwich shop, so I know what a Reuben should/could be. It wasn't a bad sandwich, just not anything I could recommend. So, because the service was so good and the sides were excellent, I will round up to a 4 star. But I would probably order something else the next time. Review #1623 read more
