Sad but true. We ordered green beans back before Thanksgiving. Called us and said no beans but would we consider other options. We said no thanks just cancel the order. Today for the second time I went to ask for the charge to be removed. Why go in person you ask? Seems their phones don't accept certain area codes so you just get a fast busy when calling. Had to talk to manager/owner on their phone. She wasn't there! She said "give me ten minutes and I will call back". After a bit more conversation she says "you're rude" and she hung up on me. My son and I got delicious food here on a whim Sunday after church because it was on the way home from church. So today (Thursday) I decided to place an order online and pick it up. I tried 4 or 5 times and it messed up; webpage said couldn't place order, but I got a text so I called. I explained order and she said "Honey bunny don't worry, we're having computer problems; we'll have it ready; just pay when you get here. In the meantime I got an email from my charge card saying I had been charged. So my son went to pick up...No Food for me. The manager who didn't speak English said they had tried to call me to get my order straight. So we ended up eating from Taco Bell. Too bad. read more

I thought it'd be worth a try, being a local barbecue place, not too far away from us. Wife and I went through the drive thru to get some food our families to share, so it was a fairly big order. 6 minutes before anyone even approached the window. Payment was taken with the lowest possible amount of effort (the awful, childish owner mentioned in most of the other reviews), the food was handed over without a word, and she literally threw a wad of napkins into the car and stormed off when we asked for a few extras (we have two kids, we get extra napkins everywhere). And when we got the food home.... The result of a long-term midlife crisis! Food for food's sake, no quality to even be discussed. They must buy the cheapest options from the cruddiest wholesalers. The food was cold, the barbecue was dry and tough. No utensils provided. I tried one more time by myself, telling myself it may have been abysmal last time just because it was a big order and they were busy. Way more benefit of the doubt than deserved, but still, I don't like the idea of giving up on local businesses. Food was as bad as the previous visit if not worse. Owner snapped at me WAY harder than anyone should have for being too far from the window (??? Bizarre thing to complain about considering neither of us had to even lean out of our windows, she just had to actually extend her arm, though that may have been difficult, as things like osteoporosis do begin to show up around her age. I'd have been willing to accommodate on future visits if she had just explained her handicap in a polite way...) Not sure how the Yelp community feels about small acts of evil or mischief, but the older lady whose job it is to run this place (not that the restaurant is exactly being "run" right now) is a perfect opportunity for entertainment. The exasperation and rage of her little meltdowns far outweigh the amount of effort needed to get her steaming-- it's profitable in like a metaphysical sort of way. The food is bad, the service is horrible and funny in a pitiful kind of way, and there's no real reason to go here other than to observe the spectacle of seeing someone so clearly incapable of understanding or performing anything professional fumble around and attempt clapbacks instead of admitting she should have retired a decade ago or tried out a job a bit more her speed. My extended family picked up dinner for us from here for after the Music City Bowl. It had been highly recommended by a friend of theirs. Brisket was the highlight and she wished that had gotten more of it than the pork. The pork was good just nothing special for typical BBQ pork. The sauce was good but again nothing out of the ordinary. Macaroni & Cheese and Cole Slaw was better than average. Baked Beans again pretty typical. I have to say I am surprised. I ordered the Skinny Pack Family value dinner. Got 1lb of Shredded Pork. Very tasty and nice smoke flavor!!! Then you get two regular sides - baked beans, very good flavor that is sweet and smoky. Vinegar Slaw, was very tasty. Had a sweet but sour taste hat only comes from good Slaw. Ordered a 1/2 of a loaf of corn light bread. Reminds me of an old BBQ joint - Herbert's that was on Hwy 96 many years ago. Very good, just wish it was warm instead of cold. But heated up in the broiler and it was nice tasting. I have to say I might have found a good replacement for my found memories of Herbert's BBQ from Franklin. Miss that place of years past. Let me preface this by stating- in 45 years on this plant I have not EVER left a bad review on a restaurant. I have eaten here for the past few years and up until the past 12 months have loved the food. I specifically order smoked turkey because I had considered it to be the best in the area. This isn't the case anymore. Turkey is not even shredded at this point- it is a tough CHUNK of meat that is hard to chew. The taste is also awful As I am not even sure if it's smoked. It tastes as if it was boiled. For the price- the service- and the food (among all the horror stories regarding the owner) I can clearly say beyond the shadow of a doubt I will never spend another cent at this place. For anyone reading- this is the 4th time I have eaten here in the last 12 months and each time this has happened. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt hoping it would rectify itself. Don't waste your money here. I have just thrown my turkey in the trash and I am headed right now to JJ's where service, food, and pricing is wonderful. read more

Probably get better barbecue from the gas station and the owner is very rude. So this one goes out to the owner! To the manager of this establishment: YOU ARE THE RUDEST PERSON ON THIS EARTH!! Your employee working the drive thru window was evidently new and trying his best to do his job and at the same time keep from upsetting you. Which I have heard you are very hard to work for. You corrected him in front of me and his coworkers. How is this young man going to feel comfortable enough to come to you when he does have questions about his job? You should have walked him through the order, quietly and politely, then when the transaction was completed, and the customer gone, you could have asked him questions about what he did wrong and used the opportunity to correctly train him without berating him. The BBQ sandwich was delicious, the loaded baked potato salad was BLAND!! And the tea tasted soured. But I was in the drive through the other day and the car in front of me appeared to be a grub hub driver and I see an employee (woman with blonde hair) come out of the side door and SCOLD the young lady in her car about how she didn't follow certain instructions given for grub hub drivers and said something along the lines of "do you not understand that?". It appears she was upset because the driver was supposed to pull into a parking spot and call as opposed to coming through the drive thru. She spoke to her with such disrespect, it was disgusting and hard to watch. The grub hub driver handled herself with grace and didn't mirror the same attitude back at the employee. The employee then aggressively gave the grub hub driver her food and stormed back into the restaurant. Myself and another man that were in the drive thru stopped to check on the young woman as we both saw the terrible way she was treated. She was shaken up and obviously upset but maintained a professional and mature attitude, something the employee is obviously not willing to do. We drove around to all the local BBQ restaurants and tried the same thing every time. This place we voted had the best pulled pork when compared to all the others. My dad and I stopped in here for lunch one day several months ago. We ordered a Brisket Meal and a BBQ Pork Meal. I was shocked at the price for lunch. But, justified it by thinking the portions were going to be huge. HA! Such small portions for the price. We actually left there not feeling full. The pork was just under average flavor on that day. The normal girl that works, I'm not sure of her name but TODAY she had two long braided pigtails, Before I get into how rude her attitude was at the drive thru, I want to mention I Just went to the same establishment on yesterday.. the food was so good and she was so nice yesterday after we placed TWO orders that we decided to go back today for a second serving. She came to the window and we explained to her, AS WE DID THE DAY BEFORE, that we had two separate orders. She proceeds to say, "We don't take separate orders in the drive thru, you'll have to order one here and come inside to order the second one" and we responded with "we just ordered separately yesterday" and she says "and we just stopped doing separate orders yesterday so what would you like?"
