Small place, small menu but delicious food! The pesto fries were quite flavorful. This place has great burgers on homemade buns baked fresh each morning. The jalapeño burger and the French dip burger were 5-star sandwiches for sure. The French dip was their tasty burger patty AND sliced roast beef along with grilled onions served with a side of au jus. Thanks, Brickhouse! I'll definitely be back. They treat you like family here, so walk right in and find a seat! For having a small menu, this place has some great options: sandwiches, salads (sadly only 2 salad options), burgers. I would recommend a burger - they cook to order and I like that you get to pick what cheese you want (cheddar, pepper jack or swiss)! I do wish they had more diversity in their menu - I like lots of options to choose from - and some healthier options for the health nuts out there (like me)! They have several beers on tap, and bottled beer too. There are so some wines to choose from for those who prefer something fancier. My high school girls had been once before with friends. They raved about it, so of course I wanted to try for myself. After a mix up on 2 of the 3 burgers ordered, they corrected the error very graciously and the burgers were delicious! One of our favorite places to catch lunch on our day off. The staff is friendly and welcoming. They have a good wine and beer selection and usually have a non alcoholic beer. Salads are really fresh and burgers and sandwiches are always cooked as requested. Finally, and desperately what we needed in town, a nice place, smack downtown, that is open past 3pm AND stays open in the evenings...BRAVO! The menu is simple but varied and reasonably priced; the food came out fast and still hot, with lots of rich flavor, crunchy veggies and a great rub on the NY steak, which, BTW, is also local, and from Swingles. The desserts and burger buns are all in-house baked, too! There are minor kinks that I won't even bring up, because I have no doubt the owners, a super friendly husband and wife team, will work out these pesky issue in a short amount of time. Another top notch restaurant in our historic community. As I walked in I was greeted by one of the staff members of the Brick House. Getting straight to the point the passion of the chefs cooking style was clear in the way he executed his food. I ordered the jalapeño burger which showed the true colors of the chef by using fresh jalapeños, pasteurized meat, a home baked bun, and served with a delectable pesto over the soft fries. Rounding out this review the apparel showed a rustic style with a modern touch of the gold mining era. My friend and I had lunch at the Brickhouse. It was the first time we had been there and waited until they had worked the kinks out before going. We were seated quickly, and I have no complaints about the service we received. I do agree with a previous review that the waitresses need to educate themselves a bit more on the types of micro brews they serve. The bartender did know what she was pouring. We ordered off the appetizer menu...chiquitas and deep fried green beans. Next time I will order just the green beans - amazing. We stopped in for lunch this weekend on our way home to the Bay Area. Looks like they've only been open about three weeks, but they should have a great future! Very comfortable, roomy seating, and exceptionally nice staff. The Pastrami Swiss sandwich was stuffed full, my BHB burger was OUTSTANDING with an amazing homemade bun, and the onion rings were FAT and DELICIOUS. We were on a long drive so we only drank the ice tea and lemonade, but they were also yummy and refreshing, and were refilled over and over before we ever got to the bottom. I will definitely make a point to stop here again the next time I'm passing through. read more

Just had a quick lunch, so didn't get too detailed of a visit (next time). We ordered the popcorn shrimp, chicken strips with buffalo sauce, oniin rings and a taco salad. Everything was pretty good. Out shopping in Jackson today and stopped in to have lunch. Love beer and was really looking forward to trying out one of the beers on tap. The waitress brought me a couple of beers to taste and then never came back to see which one I liked or if I wanted to order one. The food was ok but the burger was not worth $16.95 and the service was not great. The place was busy so maybe they need to have more then 3 servers working so that customers are served in a timely and thorough manner. read more

When we first walked in the door we were greeted and seated immediately. We looked over the menu, although it was small there were choices for everybody. I'm excited to go back and have the fish & chips! We didn't see a kids menu so our daughter was going to eat off our plates, but our server told us they have kids burger, hot dog, & chicken strips. She even had them bring out my daughters meal first, which I thought was very thoughtful. I had the Jalapeño burger, it was amazing! I wish it had a little more spice to it. But it was definitely one of the best burgers I had... my boyfriend had the Bhb, & our friend had the special which was a trip tip sandwich..... let's talk about fries, we all had the sweet potato fries. They were the best fries I have ever had! You can tell they were made fresh! Their buns are homemade and definitely give the burger a home style feel, but not down playing that they are specialty burgers. Wait staff are much more interested in smoking cigarettes than service. Apps are frozen, bought in, overpriced crap. Salads are of the 80's diner variety, iceberg lettuce and a very sad cherry tomato. The sandwiches/burgers are good or you are just so frickin starving by the time they arrive that they appear better than are. If you are a fan of brews, they taps are mismarked and many are unavailable, staff does not have the knowledge nor the inclination to assist in alternative choices- Would you prefer wine? You are in wine country. May I suggest a mediocre, improperly chilled (warm), $13.00 glass of pinot grigio. Then there's the fun part of spending TWENTY minutes for smokey the waitress to fix the bill where she double billed you. It took THREE of this brilliant service crew to fix the bill and while you waited, they gave you the gift of treating you as if it was your fault and you were in inconveniencing them. They don't really have any vegetarian options. They do have a portobello burger which is great, except I might be the only vegetarian in the world that hates mushrooms. I wish they would offer a homemade veggie burger, a pasta, or a pizza that could be made vegetarian. read more

Love this place! The front of the place has windows that fully open and it has such a great vibe. The food is great, try the pesto fries! Tons of beer on tap and good wine variety as well.
