I have been living on the property since 2021 abd have been on the board for 5 years in the past because nobody else wanted to. I will be back on the board in Augusta.. People complain about trash, parking, infrastructure and complain about Brickrow but yet nobody goes to the meetings. Brickrow wanted to pass an increase so that they can get a loan to work on buildings, stucco and pretty much a facelufr. However there wasn't enough interest. As an owner it is our responsibility to maintain our property. It is not brickrows. Where I live People are straight up irresponsible...parking in the red, not putting trash cans away. Leave mops in front of condos, cars that don't work in car spots,...so brickrow us as good as we demand them to be. I see some of the properties have dumpsters people throw trash on the ground...some people just don't care! Can't say enough how unprofessional and unhelpful this business is. DO NOT use them for your property management. If you are looking to buy and they are managing the property, run. They don't answer their phones - including their "emergency" after hours line. I've had unusable hot water for hours now and can't get ahold of anyone. Completely unacceptable. How am I supposed to feed or bathe my child with this water? This is several hours after an emergency water shutoff and nearly 30 minutes of letting the water run to flush it. This is the service we pay almost $300 a month for. Not to mention they do an abysmal job of maintaining the property and have not fixed problems with the non-functional front gate clickers that they charge $50 for. Our complex in San Ysidro (Evergreen Condominiums) has been completely abandoned by HOA/Staff. Overgrown lawns, recycling hasn't been picked up for weeks. The HOA raised our rate years ago to facilitate repairs to the fences in the area. I'm providing pictures of the fences as of this morning. It seems like the only thing that the Brickrow Property Management can do right is withdraw their fee every month. 4000$ a year and its nothing but a shake down. We were required to accept a loan for improvements and updated equipment that according to them is required by the city. We said if we didnt have a choice then we had to but we didnt want that plumber/handyman ALEX without a liscence that is the owners family member. We are coming to a year and there has not been any changes to the property but are HOA Dues are higher than everyone around us. Brickrow Property Management is, without a doubt, one of the worst property management companies I've ever dealt with. Their operations are disorganized, unprofessional, and frustrating beyond belief. They insist on cash-only payments for parking stickers -- yet when you bring cash, they have no change. Try calling them with a question? Straight to voicemail. Good luck getting a call back. Communication is non-existent. They fail to update their own system even after you've submitted all necessary HOA paperwork, then turn around and accuse you of not paying. Today was the last straw -- they mistakenly notified hundreds of property owners that their parking privileges were revoked due to non-payment. I called five times. No one answered. I left work early to fix their error, only to be met with a shrug and told it was "just a mistake." This level of incompetence is unacceptable. Brickrow should not be managing any property. I strongly advise against working with them -- property owners and managers deserve better. The entire staff needs to be held accountable or replaced. Park Lido looks so bad, the street needs repair a lot of potholes in the streets, the bumps are all over the place. Well Brickrow Property Management struck again. I have been trying to sell my condo since October. Had to update the property. We had a buyer who was going to buy it as is but his lender would not approve the purchase because of past issues with Brickrow Property Management We have a verified buyer who has given us an offer the property is in escrow. But Brickrow Property Management is not giving the escrow company any cooperation in providing the lender items that they have requested to close escrow. If you are going to purchase a house or condo or townhouse be very careful before you purchase in a complex that is under Brickrow Property Management. Also some lenders will not finance properties that are listed as being associated with Brickrow Property Management. thanks to Brickrow's dragging their feet and not providing proper paperwork and not cooperating with the escrow company we lost one sale, and now we have had to wait for escrow to close from the 1st of the month to the 13th of the month, the loan underwriter is now starting to get involved .Also according to some reports Brickrow Property Manager has received an F rating from the Chula Vista Better Business Bureau, how can a company be that bad? read more

I just had my truck stolen from our parking lot, mostly due to our HOA who never fixes any of the security gates. There is always one that is stuck open inviting anyone to come right into our property. I had asked once at a meeting if they could at least put some fake cameras up as a deterrent, but was shut down. It is like they just invite criminals in to do what ever they want . I saw a homeless man recently leaving from our laundry room and he told me he has a key for it (how is that possible)? Personally contacted company Vice president "Adriana", also services reps Edna, Liz, and a couple more problem keeps being tossed around. This is one of the worst property management companies I've dealt with (and there are many bad ones out there, so that's saying something). I've been filing dumping reports every week for over 2 months with regard to illegal dumping activities in the HOA area (like mattresses, toilets, etc), and the HOA keeps saying they're going to do something about it but, surprise, surprise, never do. Cleaning up trash in a common area is a basic function of an HOA, and they can't even do that right. Very disappointing. And their customer service is horrible. So ironic given all the bold claims they make on their website. Don't use this company if you have a choice. Seems like everyone else who reviewed this HOA came to the same conclusion. Brickrow is AWFUL. 14.3 in our R&Rs state that moving out sales are allowed. They took all of our signs down today after talking to my husband. And my husband informed Management of the sale last week. Management said "just be sure no one parks in the red." They are immature and unreasonable. We are thankful to be leaving. However. sad for our neighbors who have to live under their rule. Saturday morning we tried emailing: robert@brickrowmgt.com but the email didn't go through. We then called the emergency number on the website and left a message. No return call. ***Update*** Tues. 11/17 Robert came to our house this morning about 9a. He asked us to take our signs down (I will post a picture. We were very immature. Sometimes it seems you have to meet people at their level.) He claimed he didn't take our original signs down, but watched a neighbor do it. When we asked why he didn't tell the neighbor that it was ok for us to have the sale, he said it was the neighbor's right to take the signs down. Ok, it was our right to put up new signs. :) He also told us to take down our yelp review because it was untrue. We suggested he come make a rebuttal here. PS. I only posted the sign because Robert was taking pictures of it and I didn't want to be accused of hiding any info. So now it's all out there. I live in a condominium complex with my family and there is a fence that was burned down by arson last year and their HOA has yet to fix the fence. The high school students continue to harass my family and me over the years. The high school has said they have no responsibility after they are out of school and the HOA is showing extreme neglect in attempting to fix the fence. You can visibly see the charred fence still to this day. There was originally a wooden fence and a chain link fence on top of that, when they took the chain link fence down the high school students started to jump the wooden fence. Last year it was taken to the next level when one of them started a fire, especially being in southern California with our dry conditions it is very concerning to me that it could have spread to the other units around the fence, affecting multiple families. I have contacted the non-emergency hotline and she told me unless the police catch them in the act crossing over to the complex they cannot do anything about it, even if there is video proof. All I want is for the harassment to stop and for the HOA to fix the fence. For some reason, the HOA is showing extreme neglect in this situation and I hope no one attempts to burn the fence down again and it does not spread to the other units, it would be extremely devasting to the community. (Jacquie-great employee, stated he would call me back each time and NEVER did). Emailed owers, James and Andrian Ladd. NEVER received response back from them. In stead, I received a "FORM LETTER", not from them, giving some standard benign direction, as if this was NOT an ongoing problem that their company has NOT addressed. I have owned this property since 1979. So sad to be stuck with a Property Management Company that feels entitled to disrespect owners/tenants and problems that they are responsible to handle. Unfortunately, I have another review for Brick Row Management and this time it involves our Board of Directors! Our last monthly Board Meeting on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, was disastrous! I had several complaints and was encouraged by one of the BODs to bring them up at the meeting. As I started my complaints, I immediately noticed that I was being ignored by the BODs and the property manager, Robert Griffin. As I went through each complaint as if I weren't even there. The BODs kept saying next and next on each complaint and they didn't even respond in an appropriate or professional manner. It's as if I were wasting their time! One of my maintenance complaints, was to remove this bush that has been there and outgrown for over 45 years. When trimmed, it doesn't grow any greenery and becomes nothing but stems that look like stick weeds! It was day 22 without hearing a word, so I called Brick Row and was connected to Andrew, who claims he never saw the maintenance request and said he would look into it. I ask him to get back to me with phone call or email, he never did. It was 7 days later and the day of our meeting and when I mentioned it, I was shunned by the BODs and Brick Row! They were rushing me through it all without paying any attention to what I was saying! WOW! I have lived at Rancho Rios East for 47 years and this was the worse Board Meeting that I have ever attended. They said I was taking up too much of their time and I wasn't having it! So, each Board member, (Luis, Cathy and Julie) all started shouting and yelling at me at the same time as to discourage me to just get up and leave! I retaliated by continuing my complaints and responded to them individually at their rude, disgusting and unprofessional behavior at me. (After all, I have lived and paid my dues for 47 years and knew I had the right to present each complaint). The real problem here is that I tried to get the BODs to listen and respond to my requests and, but only one was finally responded too. They mentioned that they volunteer as BODs, (as if I didn't know that) and because of that, I think since they don't get paid, why should they take the time to respond, yet alone care about what you are saying! Rancho Rios East pays $35 LESS than Rancho Rios West for its monthly assessment fees. The manager, Robert Griffin thinks that we should be paying the same amount, which is $35 more expensive, for lack of work that is never done! Our former property managers (The Paul Miller Company) were absolutely cost effective and were professional with keeping the costs down for the homeowner's here at RR East, which included preferential treatment which is an offset to keep costs down. Brick Row is unqualified, unprofessional and they over charge for services that they don't even render to us as of yet. 2022 will be a disastrous situation for each and every 272 homeowners who own a condo here in our complex! I am hoping that when Brick Rows contract is up by the end of this year, that the BOD will cancel their services! By the way (Luis, Cathy and Julie) hired Brick Row without even consulting with the homeowners here at RR East, yet alone letting us vote on it! WOW! We are heading into a disastrous year of having to pay more to even getting the services that are required by Brick Row! True, everything costs more now, but Brick Row will manage to make tremendous profits from raising our assessment fees way to high and way out of line! Only time will tell what will happen here. I will be keeping close tabs on Brick Row and reporting the lack of unprofessional and negligent behavior and services which I know will NOT be rendered to us. I've been living at Southbay townhomes for 8 1/2 years and i have a serious health hazard going on with a hoarder living next to me who has abandoned her place. Water leakage through my wall connecting to hers.And serious Rodent problems in my walls and in attic. Brickrow Management won't take care of this issue. Neihbor's have had the same problems with rodents and still nothing gets resolve! People have moved because of it. I've contacted the city and b.b.b. I'm at my Witt's end. I'm disabled and not able to move out. I have anxiety because of hearing scratches and rats screaming at night! HELP! read more

I think we should all get together and do a class action lawsuit against this complain we all have similar complains and profiling that they don't do anything about. They take our money for the HOA fees nothing is maintained. My kids are being filmed and attacked by neighbors. I feel attacked they steal my trash cans and my packages and there is nothing I can do their dogs poo in my yard and off their leash in always working my kids get the home so they get filmed and harassed while taking out the trash hoa silence they don't do anything to protect their tenants and while we are in the subject I note that all the properties they manager need new pain need new fences need work they are falling apart and nothing is done. The Southscape property management will not get back to you and the workers, they leave on vacation during big projects and won't call you back. People working on my apartment building only one guy at a time. Husband works night shift so you can see why this is upsetting me since I have no one calling us back. They should have been done a week and a half ago but looks like they won't be done for a month now when Southscape told me it would only take 1-2 weeks. Brickrow Property Management is enabling my Homeowners Association Board to illegally restrict eligible nominees from having their names on the ballot for our upcoming election. I submitted my nomination form to Melissa (as instructed) and tried to reach her to confirm receipt of the form (as instructed), but my emails and phone message went unanswered for a week. When I was finally able to reach Melissa, she was extremely vague when I asked her to tell me if I'm eligible to be on the ballot (though I know I am 100% eligible). I then received an email from Brickrow ( on behalf of my HOA Board) stating that I am ineligible to have my name on the ballot. I immediately called Melissa and told her that my Board is not following the law and that Board members cannot keep my name from the ballot simply because they want to. I sent emails detailing SB 323 laws regarding election, nomination, etc. Melissa said she'd get in touch with the Board. I checked my mail the following day only to discover that Brickrow had already mailed out the ballots for this important (2 year term) election without my name on the ballots!!! The front desk/ Margarita screens calls from my phone number and my husband's phone number. She either sends us straight to voicemail or answers and then grills us about our reason for calling. My husband has called from the phones of co- workers and his calls were answered immediately. I have sent very serious and time sensitive emails which have not been answered by Melissa. I've asked what Brickrow is going to do to fix THEIR MISTAKES. No one has called or emailed. Either Brickrow is not current on HOA election laws or Brickrow is knowingly allowing my HOA Board to illegally suppress my nomination. This is inexcusable as my HOA dues pay for Brickrow's supposed managerial expertise. Our community consists of nearly 200 owners, yet Brickrow is invested in keeping 5 Board members happy. Many residents of my community have been approaching me to tell me their horror stories of this current Board. Many residents have complaints about Brickrow as well. Since Brickrow staff/ owners will not respond to my emails, screen my calls, and continue to allow my Board to operate in the shadows, I will continue to lodge complaints against this business. read more

Horrible communication. I own a condo in Park Lido that is managed by Brickrow and the condo has not had hot water for 5 days so far. They did not respond to several phone calls and complaints until days later saying yes a water heater is broken and will be replaced. Then they have the nerve to not have the repair performed when they said they would be and are once again unreachable. As an owner I pay this HOA a much larger fee than my other properties that are managed in an actually professional manner. Brickrow dodges communication.
